Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to artificial Christmas trees and, more particularly, to a quick assemble artificial Christmas tree.

An artificial Christmas tree is an artificial pine and fir tree manufactured for the specific purpose of use as a Christmas tree. The earliest artificial Christmas trees were wooden, tree-shaped pyramids or feather trees, both developed by Germans. Most modern trees are made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) but many other types of trees have been and are available, including aluminum Christmas tree and fiber-optic illuminated Christmas trees. Larger artificial Christmas trees have many sections to assemble. Each branch section must match with the base of the tree and the other branch sections. Assembling the current artificial Christmas trees takes a longer than necessary amount of time.

As can be seen, there is a need for a quick assemble artificial Christmas Tree.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In one aspect of the present invention, a quick assemble artificial tree comprises: a cloth piece comprising a height, a first edge and a second edge disposed along the height, and a coupler releasably connecting the first edge to the second edge; and a plurality of sets of artificial branches each set comprising a plurality of artificial branches radially extending from the cloth piece, wherein each of the plurality of sets are disposed along a different portion of the height of the cloth piece.

In another aspect of the present invention, a quick assemble artificial tree comprises: a cloth piece comprising a height, a first edge and a second edge disposed along the height, and a coupler releasably connecting the first edge to the second edge; a plurality of sets of artificial branches each set comprising a plurality of artificial branches radially extending from the cloth piece, wherein each of the plurality of sets are disposed along a different portion of the height of the cloth piece; an elongated pole; and a cap coupled to a top portion of the cloth piece, wherein the cap fits over a top end of the elongated pole, thereby releasably securing the cloth piece to the elongated pole.

These and other features, aspects and advantages of the present invention will become better understood with reference to the following drawings, description and claims.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is a perspective view of an embodiment of the present invention;

FIG. 2 is a detail cross-sectional view taken along line 2-2 in FIG. 1;

FIG. 3 is a detail side elevation view of an embodiment of the present invention; and

FIG. 4 is a side elevation view of an embodiment of the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The following detailed description is of the best currently contemplated modes of carrying out exemplary embodiments of the invention. The description is not to be taken in a limiting sense, but is made merely for the purpose of illustrating the general principles of the invention, since the scope of the invention is best defined by the appended claims.

Referring to FIGS. 1 through 4, the present invention includes a quick assemble artificial tree 10. The artificial tree 10 includes at least a cloth piece 14 and a plurality of sets 11 of artificial branches 12. The cloth piece 14 includes a height, a first edge and a second edge disposed along the height, and a coupler 26 releasably connecting the first edge to the second edge. The cloth piece 14 may be made of an artificial or natural woven or non-woven fabric sheet. Each of the plurality of sets 11 of artificial branches 12 include a plurality of artificial branches 12 radially extending from the cloth piece 14. Each of the plurality of sets 11 are disposed along a different portion of the height of the cloth piece 14.

To fully assemble the artificial tree 10, the present invention may further include an elongated pole 22 and a cap 18 coupled to a top portion of the cloth piece 14 by an adhesive 20 or other coupling means, such as stitches. The cap 18 fits over a top end of the elongated pole 22, thereby releasably securing the cloth piece 14 to the elongated pole 22. The edges are then attached together by the coupler 26. The cloth piece 14 forms a cone shape when the edges are coupled together and the cloth piece 14 is attached to the elongated pole 22. A bottom end of the elongated pole 22 may be secured to a base 32. The base 32 supports the fully assembled artificial tree 10 in an upright position. In certain embodiments, one of the artificial branches 12 is extending from the cap 18 to provide support to a head piece.

In certain embodiments, the coupler 26 includes a zipper 24. The zipper 24 may include a first side of zipper teeth 24a coupled to the first edge and a second side of zipper teeth 24b coupled to the second edge. The first and second side of the zipper teeth 24a, 24b may be adhered, stitched, or the like to the edges of the cloth piece 14. The zipper 24 further includes a zipper slider 28 and a zipper pull tab 30. To assembly the present invention, the cap 18 may be placed on the top end of the elongated pole 22, a bottom end of the second side of the zipper teeth 24b may be inserted into the zipper slider 28 and the user may grasp the zipper pull tab 20 and zip the edges of the cloth piece 14 together along the height of the elongated pole 22.

Each of the artificial branches 12 include artificial tree needles extending therefrom so that the artificial tree 10 resembles a Christmas tree. In certain embodiments, each of the plurality of artificial branches 12 may include a coupling portion 16, a branch portion 13, and a bend 15 therebetween. The coupling portion 16 is coupled to an inner surface of the cloth piece 14. For example, the coupling portion 16 may be adhered to the inner surface, stitched to the inner surface, and the like. The branch portion 13 extends through an opening formed through the cloth piece 14. In certain embodiments, the bend 15 ranges from about 80 degrees up to about 100 degrees, such as about 90 degrees.

It should be understood, of course, that the foregoing relates to exemplary embodiments of the invention and that modifications may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as set forth in the following claims.
