Protective Heel Cover

Abstract

A protective heel cover. The protective heel cover includes a base wherein the base has a straight front edge and a curved rear portion. The base has a side wall rising vertically therefrom. The side wall starts at one side of the straight front edge encircles around the curved rear portion and ends at the opposing side of the straight front edge. The base and the side wall are made from a protective material. There is a strap that is connected to the side wall. The strap will go across the top of a user's food securing the protective heel cover to the user's shoe heel.

CROSS REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS

This application claims the benefit of U.S. Provisional Application No. 62/718,068 filed on Aug. 13, 2018. The above identified patent application is herein incorporated by reference in its entirety to provide continuity of disclosure.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a protective heel cover. More particularly, the present invention provides a cover to be worn over a shoe while driving.

Many people use taxis or other vehicles to get from point A to point B. Further, many companies ship their products, which requires trucks to make long journeys. The individuals driving these trucks or taxis often add extra wear to the heels of their shoes. Further, some shoes may not provide enough support and a driver's foot may begin to hurt after a long period driving. This extra wear and lack of padding can require an individual to purchase a new pair of shoes, which can be a costly endeavor.

Consequently, there is a need in for an improvement in the art of heel comfort when driving. The present invention substantially diverges in design elements from the known art while at the same time solves a problem many people face when driving. In this regard the present invention substantially fulfills these needs.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention provides a protective heel cover wherein the same can be utilized for providing convenience for the user when driving. The protective heel cover includes a base wherein the base has a straight front edge and a curved rear portion. The base has a side wall rising vertically therefrom. The side wall starts at one side of the straight front edge encircles around the curved rear portion and ends at the opposing side of the straight front edge. The base and the side wall are made from a protective material. There is a strap that is connected to the side wall. The strap will go across the top of a user's food securing the protective heel cover to the user's shoe heel.

Other objects, features and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from the following detailed description taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Reference is made herein to the attached drawings. Like reference numerals are used throughout the drawings to depict like or similar elements of the protective heel cover. For the purposes of presenting a brief and clear description of the present invention, the preferred embodiment will be discussed as used for the protective heel cover. The figures are intended for representative purposes only and should not be considered to be limiting in any respect.

Referring now to FIG. 1, there is shown a perspective view of an embodiment of the protective heel cover. The protective heel cover 100 comprises at least a first material. In one embodiment, the first material is silicon. In one embodiment the first material is flexible. In another embodiment, the first material is polyurethane (TPU) or any other suitable material.

The protective heel cover 100 is configured to fit over the outside of a shoe. The protective heel cover 100 has a base 101 and side wall 102 rising therefrom. The base 101 as a flat from side and a rounded rear portion. The side wall 102 rises from the base 101 and wraps around the curved portion of the base 101. The side wall 102 does not go completely around the entirety of the base, leaving an opening at one end. The opening is configured to accept a shoe heel therethrough. In one embodiment, the side wall 102 is two inches in height, however other suitable heights are also contemplated.

The interior structure of the protective heel cover 101 is configured to accept the heel of a shoe therein. In one embodiment, there is a channel 103 that is recessed into the side wall 102. This channel 103 goes from the first end of the side wall 102 all the way around the interior of the side wall 102 and ends and the second end of the side wall 102. The channel 103 provides convenience to a user, when applying the device to the heel of a shoe. The channel 103 will allow for the device to flex and conform to all different shoe shapes and styles.

A strap 104 is attached to the side wall 102. In one embodiment, the strap is attached to the exterior of the sidewall. In one embodiment, the strap 104 is a hook and loop strap. In another embodiment, the strap 104 has a clasp. In yet another embodiment, the strap 104 has a hole and pin connection configuration. In many embodiments the strap 104 has one portion of the connector on one side of the side wall 102 and a second portion of the connector on the second side of the side wall 102. This will allow the strap 104 to be secured across the tongue of a shoe, securing the protective heel cover thereto.

In one embodiment, the protective heel cover 100 device comprises a cushioned foam base having multiple zones that provide different properties. A first zone of the base includes a reinforced material thereon, such as polyester or nylon, to prevent the excess wear that occurs to a right side of a shoe heel. A second zone of the base includes the reinforced material on a left side of a shoe heel. In the shown embodiment, the device comprises a recession that is configured to secure the shoe heel thereon. The base is composed of polyester, rubber, nylon, or any other suitable material.

Referring now to FIG. 2, there is shown a perspective view of an embodiment of the protective heel cover with a protective material 201 on the right side of the exterior of the heel. In this embodiment, there is a protective material 201 on the right side of the exterior of the protective heel cover 100. In other embodiments there is a protective material on the left side of the protective heel cover 100. This will ensure that the heel cover can be worn on either foot and still protect the wearer and the shoe. In one embodiment, the material 201 is recessed into the protective heel cover. In another embodiment, the material 201 protrudes from the protective heel cover. This embodiment can be used to add extra material and padding to some areas of the heel.

Referring now to FIG. 3, there is shown a top down view of an embodiment of the protective heel cover. In the shown embodiment, there is a protective material 201 located on the right side of the heel of the protective show cover 100. The protective material 201 is placed such that it will start on the right side of the protective heel cover and proceed to the back of the protective heel cover. In one embodiment, the protective material 201 is recessed into the protective heel cover. In a second embodiment, the protective material 201 is attached to the exterior of the heel cover. In this embodiment, the protective material 201 will protrude from the protective heel cover.

Referring now to FIG. 4, there is shown a bottom up view of an embodiment of the protective heel cover. In the shown embodiment, there is a protective material 201 located on the left of the shoe. The protective material 201 is placed such that it will start on the right side of the protective heel cover and proceed to the back of the protective heel cover. This is so when a wearer turns their foot while driving the shoe and heel are fully protected. In one embodiment, the protective material 201 is recessed into the protective heel cover. In a second embodiment, the protective material 201 is attached to the exterior of the heel cover. In this embodiment, the second material 201 will protrude from the protective heel cover.

Referring now to FIG. 5, there is shown a perspective view of an embodiment of the protective heel cover used for a high heel shoe. The protective heel cover 100 is shown with an embodiment of the strap 104 using a clasp 401. The clasp 401 as shown is a buckle. Other clasps are envisioned as part of this discloser. In the shown embodiment, a first part of the buckle 401 is attached to the side wall 102 of the protective heel cover 100. A second part of the buckle 401 is attached to the strap 104. In one embodiment the strap 104 is adjustable.

The protective heel cover 100 can come in many different shapes and sizes to fit different types of shoes. The shown embodiment demonstrates how modifications can be made to fit high heeled shoes 402. In this embodiment, the side wall 102 has been elongated to fit the heel of the high heeled shoe 402. In one embodiment, the material of the protective heel cover 100 is a stiffer material to prevent bending and damaging of the high heel. The bottom potion 403 of the high heel 402 will be able to sit against the base 101 of the protective heel cover 100. This will allow an individual to walk while wearing the protective heel cover 100.

It is therefore submitted that the instant invention has been shown and described in what is considered to be the ost practical and preferred embodiments. It is recognized, however, that departures may be made within the scope of the invention and that obvious modifications will occur to a person skilled in the art. With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of the invention, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by the present invention.

Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the invention. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the invention to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the invention.

Claims

1) A heel cover, comprising:

a base affixed to at least one side wall;

a rear portion that is configured to conform to the shape of a heel;

a material placed on the exterior of the heel cover;

a strap configured to secure the heel cover to a wearer attached to the base.

2) The heal cover of claim 1, wherein the material is a reinforcement layer.

3) The heal cover of claim 1, wherein the material is on the right rear side of the heel cover opposite the opening.

4) The heal cover of claim 1, wherein the material is on the left rear side of the heel cover opposite the opening.

5) The heal cover of claim 1, wherein the base is cushioning material.

6) The heal cover of claim 1, further comprising a hook and loop fastener on the inside of the heel cover.

7) The heal cover of claim 1, wherein the strap is a hook and loop strap.

8) The heal cover of claim 1, wherein the strap is a buckle strap.

9) The heal cover of claim 1, further comprising a channel on the inside of the heel cover, wherein the channel allows for the heel cover to conform to various heel sizes.

10) A heel cover, comprising:

a base affixed to at least one side wall;

a rear portion that is configured to conform to the shape of a heel;

a material placed on the exterior of the heel cover;

a strap configured to secure the heel cover to a wearer attached to the base;

a channel located and set into the side wall, wherein the channel goes from opening to opening.

11) The heal cover of claim 10, wherein the material is a reinforcement layer.

12) The heal cover of claim 10, wherein the material is on the right rear side of the heel cover opposite the opening.

13) The heal cover of claim 10, wherein the material is on the left rear side of the heel cover opposite the opening.

14) The heal cover of claim 10, wherein the base is cushioning material.

15) The heal cover of claim 10, further comprising a hook and loop fastener on the inside of the heel cover.

16) The heal cover of claim 10, wherein the strap is a hook and loop strap.

17) The heal cover of claim 10, wherein the strap is a buckle strap.
