COMB FOR RECEIVING STYLING TOOLS

Disclosed herein are embodiments and features of hair styling systems and tools. In one embodiment, a hair styling system comprises a glove, the glove comprising a palm portion with a thumb portion and finger portions extending therefrom, and at least one mounting sleeve on an exterior surface of at least one of the finger portions; and a styling attachment. The styling attachment may comprise a base having a distal end and a proximal end, a receiver on the distal end of the base for receiving a styling tool onto the base, and a coupler for attaching the styling attachment into the at least one mounting sleeve.

CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATION

This application claims the benefit of U.S. Provisional Application Ser. No. 62/530,062, filed on Jul. 7, 2017, entitled “COMB FOR RECEIVING STYLING TOOLS” and U.S. Provisional Application Ser. TECHNICAL FIELD

This application is directed, in general, to hair styling tools and, more specifically, a styling system having a styling tool that can attach to a glove and a protective glove for protecting a hairstylist's hand.

BACKGROUND

Hairstylists provide many services to their customers including cutting, coloring and styling their hair. These services can expose the hairstylist to various chemicals that can stain, harm, and damage their skin; especially frequent and repeated exposure to the chemicals. Additionally, the hairstylist may use a variety of styling tools to perform the various services on a customer's hair. A hair stylist may use multiple tools in sequence and with frequent changes. Hairstylist may simultaneously use one tool with one hand and another tool with the other hand. In addition to using styling tools, hairstylist may also need one hand to hold hair in a certain position for styling.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

As mentioned above, a hairstylist often employs multiple hair care products and styling tools when cutting and styling a client's hair. A hairstylist, also referred to herein as a stylist, may often need multiple styling tools at relatively the same time, or in succession with one another, causing the stylist to frequently pick up, put down, change, or hold multiple styling tools. During various styling processes, such as coloring and permanents (perms), chemicals are used on the client's hair. Repeated and frequent exposure to certain chemicals can be harmful to skin and nails.

Accordingly, this disclosure provides a styling system having a styling tool that can attach to a glove and a protective glove for protecting a hairstylist's hand. The protective glove protects a stylist's hand while still enabling the stylist to utilize one or more styling tools at once. Various embodiments of styling tools, such as a comb, that a user (e.g., a hairstylist) can use in, for example, a hair styling procedure are also provided herein.

In one embodiment, a styling attachment includes a base having a receiver at a distal end thereof for receiving a styling tool therein. The receiver is configured to allow a variety of types of styling tools to be received therein. In some embodiments, the styling attachment is adapted to be coupled with a glove, such as a thermal protective glove to provide protection from heated or hot hair (i.e., protect against a burn from the hot hair) and allow styling with the styling attachment. The styling attachment may receive a variety of styling tools thereon. For example, the styling tool may be a multi-tooth comb that can be attached to the protective glove and allow a hairstylist to comb through hot hair using the comb and fingers that are protected by heat resistant material. In some embodiments, portions of the protective glove may include a chemical resistant material that is configured to provide protection against chemicals used on a client's hair. The comb is uniquely designed to fit along the length of a hairstylist's finger and to attach to a finger of a protective glove. In one embodiment, the glove includes mounting sleeves on at least one exterior surface of the glove wherein the disclosed styling attachment can be removably coupled. The mounting sleeves can be referred to herein as receiving sleeves.

Referring now to FIGS. 1A-1D, there are shown different views of an embodiment of a styling attachment 100 constructed according to the principles of the disclosure. The styling attachment 100 may receive a variety of styling tools, such as comb as illustrated. One skilled in the art will recognize that various styling tools may be attached with the styling attachment 100 instead of a comb.

The styling attachment 100 can be constructed of a synthetic resin or plastic. In some embodiments, the styling attachment 100 is constructed of a thermoplastic. In one embodiment, the styling attachment 100 is constructed of an Acetal resin. In other embodiments, the styling attachment 100 can be constructed of other materials such as, carbon, wood, and metals including stainless steel and aluminum.

The styling attachment 100 is sized to fit between the web of a finger to the tip of a finger of a user. In some embodiments, the styling attachment 100 has a length between two and three quarters of an inch to three and a half inches. In one embodiment, the styling attachment 100 has a length less than or equal to three inches.

As evident in FIG. 1A, the styling attachment 100 includes a base 110 having a distal 112 and proximal end 114, and a top side 116 and a bottom side 118. At the distal end 112, there is a receiver 120 for receiving a styling tool 130 therein, such as a toothed comb row as noted above, thereby coupling the styling tool 130 with the base 110. FIG. 1B illustrates a distal end view that shows the receiver 120. The base 110 has an attacher 140 on the bottom side 118 that can slide into a sleeve of a glove, such as the protective glove described in U.S. Pat. No. 8,245,715 and U.S. patent application Ser. No. 14/930,320, both commonly owned with the present disclosure. The attacher 140 may also be referred to as a coupler, because the attacher 140 is configured to couple or attach the styling attachment 100 with a glove. In some embodiments, the attacher 140 may extend longitudinally beneath a length of the base 110. In some embodiments, the attacher 140 has a length that corresponds to the length of a mounting sleeve on a finger of a glove. In some embodiments, the attacher 140 may have a curved shape across the width thereof that is similar to a curve of a human finger.

The receiver 120 may be an opening or aperture in the distal end 112 of base 110. The receiver 120 can also be a channel or rail-type opening extending lengthwise along the top side 116 of the base 110, substantially parallel with the attacher 140.

In FIG. 1C, a gap 160 is indicated between the attacher 140 and the receiver 120 at the proximal end 114 of the base 110. The gap 160 can be sized to correspond to the mounting sleeve of the protective glove. In one embodiment, the gap 160 is approximate the thickness of the mounting sleeve to allow the styling attachment 100 to slide into the mounting sleeve and remain secure until removed by a user.

In the embodiment shown in FIG. 1A-1D, the styling tool 130 has a row of teeth 135 located along a length of the base 110 on the top side 116. While the styling tool 130 shown includes only a single row of teeth 135, numerous other styling tools can be configured to be received into the base 110, such as styling tools having multiple rows of teeth, no teeth, a styling pick, a round bristled styling brush, styling brushes having a variety of bristle widths and densities, and numerous other styling tools, known and used by hairstylists.

FIG. 2A illustrates a perspective view of a styling attachment 200 showing a different type of styling tool 230 received into receiver 220 of base 210. As shown in FIG. 2A, the styling tool 230 in this embodiment has no teeth, but instead a single pointed pic which is received into the receiver 220 and extends beyond distal end 212 of base 210. In this embodiment, the receiver 220 is a rail or channel which extends along top side 216 of base 210.

In some embodiments, such as the embodiments shown in FIG. 2B of styling attachment 202 and 2C of styling attachment 204, a styling tool may be fixed into the base 210 rather than removably coupled. In some embodiments, the styling tool may be molded with the base 210 such that the styling tool forms a portion of the distal end 212 of the base 210. The styling tool can be embedded into the distal end 212 of the base 210. In FIG. 2B, a styling tool 231 is illustrated which includes a comb with multiple teeth 235 having a styling pic 237 extending from the comb's distal end 212. The styling pic 237 may be constructed using metals, plastics, or polymers. The styling attachment 202 essentially includes two styling tools since styling tool 231 provides the functionality of two styling tools. The embodiment shown in FIG. 2C of styling attachment 204 includes a styling tool 238 having a plurality of teeth 239 spaced at intervals and having varying heights.

FIG. 3 illustrates a perspective view of a styling attachment 300 having another embodiment of a styling tool 330 attached into base 310 via a receiver 320. The styling tool 330 in this embodiment is a multi-tooth pick extending from top side 316 and distal end 312 of the base 300. In other embodiments, the styling tool 330 may include a brush having bristles rather than the multi-teeth pic shown. The brush bristles may vary is density, length, and width, according to the type of brush needed by the user. In one embodiment, for example, the styling tool 330 is a brush similar to brushes used to apply coloring products to hair.

The multiple examples of styling attachments as shown and described herein, such as in FIGS. 1A-1D, FIGS. 2A-2C, and FIG. 3, can be used with a glove having mounting sleeves as shown in described in U.S. patent application Ser. No. 14/930,320, commonly owned with the present application, and also with a protective glove such as the glove shown and described in U.S. Pat. No. 8,245,715, also commonly owned with the present application. The glove may be a thermal protective glove constructed of a heat-resistant material, such as used with gloves to provide a thermal shield for thermal protection of a user's hand. An aramid fabric can be used in some embodiments. In some embodiments, the glove may include an extra layer or layers of the heat resistant material for extra burn protection. In some embodiments, portions of the glove may include a chemical resistant material that is configured to provide protection against chemicals used on a client's hair.

One example of a glove that the styling attachments may be used in conjunction with is shown in FIG. 4 along with the following description: FIG. 4 illustrates a diagram of a protective glove 400 constructed according to the principles of the disclosure. The protective glove 400 is a thermal protective glove constructed of a heat-resistant material, such as used with gloves to provide a thermal shield for thermal protection of a user's hand. An aramid fabric can be used in some embodiments. In some embodiments, the protective glove 400 may include an extra layer or layers of the heat resistant material for extra burn protection. For example, the protective glove 400 may include double thermal protection in a palm 402 of the protective glove 400.

In some embodiments, portions of the protective glove 100 may be constructed of conventional materials that are used for various types of gloves. Multiple types of materials may be used. Portions of the protective glove 400 may include a chemical resistant material that is configured to provide protection against chemicals used on a client's hair. The protective glove 400 may include multiple layers of material. For example, the protective glove 400 may include an inner layer, such as for padding, and an outer layer, such as for chemical protection. The heat-resistant material may be a third layer that provides a thermal shield to protect against hot hair.

Whether the whole glove or only at designated portions thereof, the heat-resistant material protects the hand from heat while working with hair. For example, during a straightening process, the hair can become sufficiently hot due to flat ironing to burn the skin of a hairstylist's hand. Designated portions for thermal protection can include an inner section of the fingers and along the web between fingers.

In FIG. 4, the protective glove 400 is presented on a right hand. The protective glove 400, however, may also be worn on a left hand. As such, the protective glove 400 may not be hand-specific but can be worn on either a right hand or a left hand. The protective glove 400 includes a palm portion 402, a first finger 410, a second finger 420, a third finger 430, a fourth finger 440, and a wrist portion 450. In some embodiments, the palm 402 of the protective glove 400 may have thermal protection incorporated into at least a portion of the palm portion and webbing areas between the fingers 410, 420, 430, and 440 and also a back portion (not visible in FIG. 4) of the protective glove 400. The protective glove 400 may be configured and sized such that the protective glove 400 may be worn and used on either hand.

The first to fourth fingers 410 to 440, are constructed to fit over fingers of the hand of, for example, a hairstylist. In the illustrated embodiment, the first finger 410 fits over an index finger, the second finger 420 fits over a middle finger, the third finger 430 over a ring finger, and the fourth finger 440 over a pinky. In FIG. 4, the fourth finger 440 only partially covers a pinky finger. This allows a hairstylist to use their pinky to work with a client's hair. In other embodiments, the fourth finger 440 can fully cover the pinky.

The first, second and third fingers 410-430 include mounting sleeves 412, 422, 432 located on an exterior surface of each finger 410-440 and are constructed to receive and secure styling attachments, such as the styling attachments disclosed herein. The mounting sleeves 412, 422, 432, have a width and length that correspond to an attacher of styling devices, such as the attacher 140. For example, the end of the attacher 140 with the gap 160 can be slid into one of the mounting sleeves 412, 422, 432, in the direction from the tip of a finger toward the palm 402. The mounting sleeves 412, 422, 432, include a stiffener (not visible) for rigidity and support of attached devices. The stiffener can be a piece of plastic that is sewn between two layers of the mounting sleeves 412, 422, 432. The gap 160 can be sized to correspond to the thickness of the mounting sleeves 412, 422, 432, including the stiffener, to secure the comb 100 in place when slid into one of the mounting sleeves 412, 422, 432. In one embodiment, the mounting sleeves 412, 422, 432, are two inches or approximately two inches in length and have a width of half an inch or approximately half an inch. The mounting sleeves 412, 422, 432, can be sewn onto the exterior surface of the fingers of the protective glove 400 and can also be constructed of the heat resistant material.

The wrist portion 450 provides an opening to place the protective glove 400 on the hand. In FIG. 4, the protective glove 400 includes a fastener 460 located at the wrist portion 450. The fastener 460 may include Velcro, a snap, a zipper, a button or other type of fastening devices that may be used to secure a glove on a hand. In some embodiments, the protective glove 400 may not include a fastener. As such, the shape thereof, for example, may be relied upon to keep the protective glove 400 on the hand. Additionally, in some embodiments, the fastener 460 may be located at a different location on the protective glove 400.

Referring now to FIG. 5 there is shown a protective glove 500 (hereinafter “glove”) constructed according to the principles of the disclosure. The glove 500 may be constructed of conventional materials that are used for various types of gloves and then dipped in or coated with a chemical resistant material, such as nitrile, or other similar polymer or synthetic materials, resistant to chemical and liquid permeation through the glove to provide protection for a user's hand against liquid and chemicals used on a client's hair. The glove 500 may include multiple layers of material. For example, the glove 500 may include an inner layer, such as for padding, and an outer layer 505 having a nitrile, or similar coating. In some embodiments, the glove 500 may be constructed solely of the chemical resistant material. In other embodiments, the glove 500 may be constructed using a heat resistant fabric such as, for example, aramid fiber, and then dipped in or coated with a chemical resistant material. In this embodiment having a heat resistant fabric, there may be one or more layers of fabric; for example, certain areas, such as between fingers, may be constructed using two or more layers for extra heat protection, and then the glove 500 is coated with a chemical resistant material, such as by dipping, to include an outer layer for chemical protection.

The glove 500 includes a first finger 510, second finger 520, third finger 530, a fourth finger 540, and a thumb 550, such that a user's complete hand is protected. The glove may also have a wrist portion 560 for covering and protecting at least a portion of a user's wrist.

In some embodiments, the fingertip area of each or of at least one of the fingers 510-540 can include puncture protection, denoted in FIG. 5 as protection areas 515a, 515b, 515c, and 515d. The protection areas 515a-d can be constructed of a thicker material, can include an additional layer of material such as a textile, or another material can be added in the fingertips at the end of the fingers 510-540 to provide reinforcement against puncture by fingernails and/or fingertips. In some embodiments, the fingertips may be reinforced with extra coating materials, or molded with the fingertips having extra thickness. The protection areas 515a-d can be limited to the edge of the fingertips of the fingers 510-540 to prevent thicker material over the pads of a stylist's fingers to ensure the stylist has proper feel and dexterity when styling. In some embodiments, hexagonal or other shaped reinforcement patterns, such as used in some plastic trash bags, may be used to provide reinforcement. In these embodiments, the protection areas 515a-d can extend over or at least partially over the fingertip pad areas of the fingers 510-540 since extra reinforcement can be provided without extra thickness; stretching can be provided without tearing.

The glove 500 is presented on a right hand. The glove 500, however, may also be worn on a left hand. As such, the glove 500 may not be hand-specific but can be worn on either a right hand or a left hand. The first to fourth fingers 510 to 540, are constructed to fit over fingers of the hand of, for example, a hairstylist. In the illustrated embodiment, the first finger 510 fits over an index finger, the second finger 520 fits over a middle finger, the third finger 530 over a ring finger, and the fourth finger 540 over a pinky.

In some embodiments, at least the first finger may include a mounting sleeve 570a for receiving a styling attachment therein. The styling attachment may include a base having a styling tool coupled thereto, such as described in Applicant's co-pending applications, U.S. patent application Ser. No. 14/930,320 and Provisional Application No. 62/530,062. Accordingly, the styling attachment may include a comb having a plurality of teeth, or may be a styling pick, a single pronged comb, a “rat-tail” styling tool, a brush, a color-brush, or any of the multitude of hand-held other styling tools used in the hair styling industry. In another embodiment, the second finger 520 may also include a mounting sleeve 570b for receiving an additional styling attachment therein.

In yet other embodiments, the third finger 530 may include a mounting sleeve 570c. In still other embodiments, the fourth finger 540 and thumb 550 may also include mounting sleeves 570. In one example, a color-brush may be mounted in mounting sleeve 570a, while a comb is mounted in mounting sleeve 570b, and yet another tool, such as a rat-tail may be mounted in mounting sleeve 570c.

The mounting sleeves 570 have a width and length that correspond to an attacher of styling devices such as the comb and the attacher described in U.S. patent application Ser. No. 14/930,320 and Provisional Application No. 62/530,062 (e.g., the attacher 550). For example, the free end of the attacher of the comb can be slid into one of the mounting sleeves 570a-c in the direction from the tip of a finger towards the palm. The mounting sleeves 570a-c may include a stiffener (not visible) for rigidity and support of attached devices. The stiffener can be a piece of plastic that is sewn between two layers of the mounting sleeves 570a-c. In one embodiment, the mounting sleeves 570a-c, are two inches or approximately two inches in length and have a width of half an inch or approximately half an inch. The mounting sleeves 570a-c, can be mechanically attached to the glove 500. In some embodiments, the mounting sleeves 570a-c are sewn onto the fingers of the glove 500 and can also be constructed of the nitrile, or other chemical and liquid resistant material. In other embodiments, the mounting sleeves 570a-c may be secured onto the glove 500 by an adhesive, or bonding using an epoxy or polyurethane. In yet other embodiments, the mounting sleeves 570a-c may be molded into the glove 500. As such, the glove 500 can be manufactured with a mounting sleeve or sleeves.

The wrist portion 560 provides an opening to place the glove 500 on the hand. In FIG. 5, the glove 500 may include a fastener 565 located at the wrist portion 560. The fastener 565 may include hook and loops (such a Velcro®), a snap, a zipper, a button, an elastic closure, or other type of fastening devices that may be used to secure a glove on a hand. In some embodiments, the glove 500 may not include a fastener. As such, the shape thereof, for example, may be relied upon to keep the glove 500 on the hand. In other embodiments, there may be an elastic band incorporated into the wrist portion 560 to assist in keeping the glove 500 secure around a stylist's hand. Additionally, in some embodiments, the fastener 565 may be located at a different location on the glove 500.

The glove 500 includes a tab 580 such that the glove 500 may be pulled off inside out to prevent a stylist touching any chemicals remaining on the glove 500. The tab 580 may be placed either on an interior surface or section of the wrist portion 560 as shown in FIG. 5, or on an exterior surface or section such as tab 680 in FIG. 6. In one embodiment, the tab 580 can be incorporated with the fastener 565. The tab 580 can also be located on a side of the glove 500, such as at the edge of the wrist portion 560 where or approximate to where the interior and exterior portions of the wrist portion 560 meet. The tab 580 may also be coated with or be constructed using a chemical resistant material. In some embodiments, the tab 580 is molded as part of the glove 500 during manufacturing. In other embodiments, the tab 580 can attached to the glove 500 similarly to methods used to attach the sleeves 570a-c discussed above.

Referring now to FIG. 6, there is shown another embodiment of a glove 600. Glove 600 has a first finger 610, shown as the index finger in FIG. 6, the first finger 610 having a mounting sleeve for receiving a styling attachment 612 thereon. The styling attachment 612 comprises at least a base 614 and a toothed comb 616 attached thereon. Glove 600 is shown having an outer layer having a coating 605, the coating comprising a chemical resistant material, such as nitrile, or other similar polymer or synthetic materials, resistant to chemical and liquid permeation through the glove 600 to provide protection for a user's hand against liquid and chemicals used on a client's hair.

FIG. 7 illustrates a perspective view of a styling attachment 700 having a styling tool 730 attached into base 710 via a receiver 720. The styling tool 730 in this embodiment is a color brush extending from distal end 712 of the base 700. In other embodiments, the styling tool 730 may include a styling pick or comb having one or more teeth. The brush bristles may vary is density, length, and width, according to the type of brush needed by the user. In this embodiment, the styling tool 730 is a brush similar to brushes used to apply coloring products to hair.

In one aspect, the disclosure provides a styling attachment. In one embodiment, the styling attachment includes: a base having a proximal and distal end, a coupler (or also called an attacher) positioned beneath the base for attaching the base into an opening on an exterior surface of a glove; and a receiver positioned at the distal end of the base for removably receiving and securing a styling tool to the base.

In another aspect, the disclosure provides a styling attachment including a base having a proximal end and a distal end, an attacher coupled beneath the base for attaching the base into an opening in a glove; and a styling tool securely fastened into the distal end of the base. In some embodiments, the styling tool may be molded as part of the base, and in some embodiments, the styling tool may be fixedly embedded into the distal end of the base.

In some embodiments, the styling tool may comprise a multi-tooth or multi-pronged comb. In other embodiments, the styling tool may comprise a single prong pic extending from the distal end of the base. In yet other embodiments, the styling tool may be a brush having a plurality of bristles.

One aspect provides a glove. In one embodiment, the glove includes: at least a first and second finger for adjacent fingers of a hand; and a mounting sleeve for receiving a styling attachment on at least an inner section of an exterior surface at least one of the first and second fingers; wherein the glove comprises a protective material protective against chemical and liquid permeation. In some embodiments, the protective material may be coated onto a textile. The first and second finger can include mounting sleeves.

In another aspect, there is provided a hair styling system. The system includes a glove and a styling attachment. The glove includes a palm portion with a thumb portion and finger portions extending therefrom, and at least one mounting sleeve on an exterior surface of at least one of the finger portions. The styling attachment includes a base, the base having a distal end and a proximal end; a receiver on the distal end of the base for receiving a styling tool onto the base; and an attacher for attaching the styling attachment into the at least one mounting sleeve.

In some embodiments, the glove has a protective coating to protect against chemical and liquid permeation on at least a bottom surface of the palm portion, thumb portion, and finger portions. In other embodiments the glove has a protective coating on all exterior surfaces of the glove. In yet other embodiments, the styling tool is a comb, and in some embodiments, the comb may also have a rat tail pic extending therefrom. In yet other embodiments, the styling tool is a brush, and in some embodiments, the brush is similar to those used for applying chemicals and color to hair.

Various designs of styling tools may be used with the styling system presented herein for attaching onto an external sleeve of the gloves 400 and 500. The styling tools may include where the teeth of the styling tool has more space in between as well as a horizontal tooth referred to as a “rat tail” in the industry. A styling tool may not have any vertical teeth or only a single vertical tooth, in combination with a horizontal rat tail as well. One styling tool may have a metal rat tail embedded into the end of a comb. The metal can be between 0.25″ and 1.5″ long depending on design. One styling tool may be a comb with a plastic rat tail molded into the end of the comb.

The styling tools can be permanently fixed or removeably coupled to the styling attachment and various types of combs and styling tools can be used.

Those skilled in the art to which this application relates will appreciate that other and further additions, deletions, substitutions and modifications may be made to the described embodiments. Additionally, the hairstylists and clients referred to in this application are not restricted to professional hairstylists and paying clients.

Claims

1. A hair styling system comprising:

a glove, the glove comprising a palm portion with a thumb portion and finger portions extending therefrom, and at least one mounting sleeve on an exterior surface of at least one of the finger portions; and
a styling attachment comprising: a base having a distal end and a proximal end; a receiver on the distal end of the base for receiving a styling tool onto the base, wherein the receiver has a channel which extends along a top side of the base; and a coupler for attaching the styling attachment into the at least one mounting sleeve, wherein the coupler has a length such that the coupler fits longitudinally along the finger of the glove.

2. The hair styling system according to claim 1, wherein the glove has a protective coating to protect against chemical and liquid permeation on at least a bottom surface of the palm portion, thumb portion, and finger portions.

3. The hair styling system according to claim 1, wherein the glove has a protective coating to protect against chemical and liquid permeation on all exterior surfaces of the glove.

4. The hair styling system according to claim 1, wherein the glove further comprises a mounting sleeve on an exterior surface of each of the finger portions.

5. The hair styling system according to claim 1, wherein the coupler is a longitudinal member extending beneath the base from the distal end of the base toward the proximal end.

6. The hair styling system according to claim 1, wherein the coupler has a curved shape across a width thereof that corresponds to a human finger's curve.

7. The hair styling system according to claim 1, wherein the styling tool includes a comb having a plurality of teeth.

8. The hair styling system according to claim 1, wherein the styling tool is a styling rat tail.

9. The hair styling system according to claim 1, wherein the styling tool is a brush.

10. The hair styling system according to claim 1, wherein the styling tool is a multi-tooth comb with a plastic rat tail molded into one end of the comb.

11. A glove comprising:

a palm portion;
a thumb portion extending from the palm portion;
a plurality of finger portions extending from the palm portion; and
at least one mounting sleeve on an exterior surface of at least one of the finger portions.

12. The glove according to claim 11, wherein the glove has a protective coating to protect against chemical and liquid permeation on at least a bottom surface of the palm portion, thumb portion, and finger portions.

13. The glove according to claim 11, wherein the glove has a protective coating to protect against chemical and liquid permeation on all exterior surfaces of the glove.

14. The glove according to claim 11, wherein the glove further comprises a mounting sleeve on an exterior surface of each of the finger portions.

15. A styling attachment comprising:

a base having a distal end and a proximal end;
a receiver on the distal end of the base for receiving a styling tool onto the base, wherein the receiver has a channel which extends along a top side of the base; and
a longitudinal coupler for attaching the styling attachment into a mounting sleeve on an exterior surface of a glove, wherein the longitudinal coupler has a length such that the longitudinal coupler fits longitudinally along the finger of the glove.

16. The styling attachment according to claim 15, wherein the coupler is a longitudinal member extending beneath the base from the distal end of the base toward the proximal end.

17. The styling attachment according to claim 15, wherein the coupler has a curved shape similar to a human finger's curve.

18. The styling attachment according to claim 15, wherein the styling tool includes a comb having a plurality of teeth.

19. The styling attachment according to claim 15, wherein the styling tool is a brush.

20. The styling attachment according to claim 15, wherein the styling tool is a multi-tooth comb with a plastic rat tail molded into one end of the comb.
