MAKEUP AND SKINCARE APPLICATOR

A finger sleeve for the application of a topical agent is provided. The finger sleeve is made from material that enables heat to transfer from the user's finger to the applied topical agent, while not absorbing any of the topical agent. The finger sleeve moves between a rolled condition and an unrolled condition over a user's finger for enabling them to apply the topical agent directly.

CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATION

This application claims the benefit of priority of U.S. provisional application No. 62/781,396, filed 18 Dec. 2018, the contents of which are herein incorporated by reference.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to the application of makeup and skincare products and, more particularly, to a wearable applicator for applying topical agents by way of the user's finger, and method of using the same.

The most user-friendly way to apply makeup or other topical agents is with one's finger because nothing comes between the application and the user's innate manual dexterity. But finger-application is generally not sanitary, it can cause streaking, and it is looked down upon as lazy. As a result, people are forced to use alternative methods such as sponges and brushes, which do not compare to finger-application because these stand-alone tools need to be held in the user's hand to apply makeup/topical agent.

As can be seen, there is a need for a wearable makeup and skincare product applicator, and method of using the same.

The applicator embodied in the present invention, colloquially known as “Le Femme”, is a lightweight sponge-like material in the form of a close-ended sleeve one can roll down a single finger. In such a rolled condition, the user can apply makeup, skincare products or other topical agents without contaminating the product, which is a boon for the elderly and users with limited manual dexterity.

Finger application facilitates reaching those hard to reach places on the face. “La Femme” is reusable. The present invention is adapted to allow heat to transfer from the user's finger to the applied substance, for a flawless finish. Furthermore, the present invention is adapted to not absorb any makeup like other makeup sponges.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In one aspect of the present invention, a finger sleeve for an application of a topical agent includes the following: the finger sleeve dimensioned and adapted to snugly accommodate a human digit; and the finger sleeve made from a material adapted to enable heat to transfer from said human digit to the topical agent the material comes in contact with, while not absorbing any of said topical agent, wherein the finger sleeve moves between a rolled condition and an unrolled condition over said human digit, wherein the material is a polymer with a coating of polyisoprene coating along a distal end, wherein a thickness of the coating ranges from 0.006 to 0.008 inches, and wherein the coating has a length approximately 2.5 inches measured from the distal end.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The following detailed description is of the best currently contemplated modes of carrying out exemplary embodiments of the invention. The description is not to be taken in a limiting sense, but is made merely for the purpose of illustrating the general principles of the invention, since the scope of the invention is best defined by the appended claims.

Broadly, an embodiment of the present invention provides a finger sleeve for the application of a topical agent, wherein the finger sleeve is made from material that enables heat to transfer from the user's finger to the applied topical agent, while not absorbing any of the topical agent. The finger sleeve moves between a rolled condition and an unrolled condition over a user's finger for enabling them to apply the topical agent directly.

Referring to FIGS. 1 through 7C, the present invention may include a closed-ended sleeve 10 dimensioned and adapted to receive a human finger 12. The distal closed end of the sleeve 10 may be rounded to snugly accommodate the end of the human finger 12 much like a finger stall of a latex glove, or a latex finger cot. The sleeve 10 may be adapted to move from a rolled condition to an unrolled condition over the human finger 12 of the user, not unlike the donning of said finger cot.

The material 16 of the sleeve 10 may be a polymer, mimicking the softness and texture of a sponge, but does not absorb any of the topic agent (such as makeup) like current makeup sponges, which causes streaks and other unaesthetic application characteristics found in current makeup applicators. The material 16 may be is repeatedly dipped in polyisoprene to facilitate the sponge-like texture. The thickness of the polyisoprene coating may range from 0.006″-0.008″, with an overall finished length approximately 2.5 inches ±0.1″ (measured from the distal tip).

The sleeve 10 may be beaded at the open end, wherein the bead diameter is approximately 0.06″±0.01″. The material 16 of the sleeve 10 is so light weight and thin that the heat is able to be transfer through the thermal conductive material 16. The material 16 is water and oil resistant, antimicrobial, and reusable.

A method of using the present invention may include the following. The sleeve 10 disclosed above may be provided. A user would move the sleeve 10 from the rolled condition to the unrolled condition over a desired finger 12, as illustrated in FIGS. 7A-7C. The finger 12 can be any digit or thumb. The user may dip the distal end of their finger 12/sleeve 10 in the topical agent 14. The topical agent 14 may include but not be limited to creams, ointments, liniments, shampoos, conditioners, bath products or any product for treating skin discomforts as well as improving the appearance of skin. Then the user manually applies the topical agent 14 directly.

Additionally, the user may roll down the sleeve, apply a foundation to the sleeve material, and then begin blending of foundation on to the skin.

It should be understood, of course, that the foregoing relates to exemplary embodiments of the invention and that modifications may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as set forth in the following claims.

Claims

1. A finger sleeve for an application of a topical agent, comprising:

the finger sleeve dimensioned and adapted to snugly accommodate a human digit; and
the finger sleeve made from a material adapted to enable heat to transfer from said human digit to the topical agent the material comes in contact with, while not absorbing any of said topical agent.

2. The finger sleeve of claim 1, wherein the finger sleeve moves between a rolled condition and an unrolled condition over said human digit.

3. The finger sleeve of claim 1, wherein the material is a polymer with a coating of polyisoprene coating along a distal end.

4. The finger sleeve of claim 3, wherein a thickness of the coating ranges from 0.006 to 0.008 inches.

5. The finger sleeve of claim 3, wherein the coating has a length approximately 2.5 inches measured from the distal end.
