Head Cooling Hat Assembly

A head cooling hat assembly for cooling a user's head includes a hat that is wearable on a user's head and the hat has a chamber integrated therein. A cooling pack is insertable into the chamber in the hat. Thus, the cooling pack is in thermal communication with the user's head when the user wears the hat. The cooling pack is comprised of a freezable material to cool the user's head when the user wears the hat.

The disclosure and prior art relates to cooling devices and more particularly pertains to a new cooling device for cooling a user's head.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a hat that is wearable on a user's head and the hat has a chamber integrated therein. A cooling pack is insertable into the chamber in the hat. Thus, the cooling pack is in thermal communication with the user's head when the user wears the hat. The cooling pack is comprised of a freezable material to cool the user's head when the user wears the hat.

There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.

The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 4 thereof, a new cooling device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.

As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 4, the head cooling hat assembly 10 generally comprises a hat 12 that is wearable on a user's head. Additionally, the hat 12 has a chamber 14 integrated therein. The hat 12 has an inner surface 16, an outer surface 18 and a lower edge 20 extending therebetween. The chamber 14 is positioned between the inner surface 16 and the outer surface 18. Moreover, the chamber 14 extends from a point adjacent to the lower edge 20 upwardly across an apex 22 of the hat 12. Thus, the chamber 14 extends over a top of the user's head when the hat 12 is worn. The hat 12 may be a baseball cap with a brim, a military helmet or any other type of hat 12 worn on a person's head.

The inner surface 16 has a cut 24 extending therethrough into the chamber 14. The cut 24 is spaced from the lower edge 20 and the cut 24 is oriented to be collinear with the lower edge 20. Additionally, the cut 24 has a first edge 26 and a second edge 28. A closure 30 is coupled to the hat 12 and the closure 30 is aligned with the cut 24 for opening and closing the cut 24. The closure 30 includes a first portion 32 coupled to the first edge 26 of the cut 24 and a second portion 34 coupled to the second edge 28 of the cut 24. The first portion 32 is releasably matable to the second portion 34, and the closure 30 may comprise a pair of matable hook and loop fasteners or other similar closure that will not abrade or otherwise frictionally engage the user's head and thusly cause physical discomfort.

A cooling pack 36 is provided and the cooling pack 36 is insertable into the chamber 14 in the hat 12. In this way the cooling pack 36 is in thermal communication with the user's head when the hat 12 is worn. The cooling pack 36 is comprised of a freezable material and the cooling pack 36 can be frozen in a freezer or the like. Thus, the cooling pack 36 can cool the user's head when the user wears the hat 12. The inner surface 16 of the hat 12 may be comprised of polyester or other similar textile that inhibits condensation that collects on the cooling pack 36 from wicking onto the user's head.

The cooling pack 36 is inserted through the cut 24 to place the cooling pack 36 in the chamber 14. The cooling pack 36 has a disk shape and the cooling pack 36 is comprised of a freezer gel material that remains flexible when the cooling pack 36 has been frozen. In this way the cooling pack 36 can conform to the curvature of the user's head when the user wears the hat 12, thereby enhancing comfort for the user. The cooling pack 36 may have a plurality of cells 38 being integrated therein, and each of the cells 38 may be comprised of the freezer gel material. The cells 38 may be spaced apart from each other and be distributed over the entirety of the cooling pack 36. The plurality of cells 38 may include a group of ovoid cells 40 being centrally positioned between a pair of groups of circular cells 42.

In use, the cooling pack 36 is frozen prior to being inserted into the chamber 14 in the hat 12. The hat 12 is worn outdoors or whenever the user wishes to cool the user's head. Thus, the cooling pack 36 is positioned on top of the user's head thereby facilitating the cooling pack 36 to cool the user's head. In this way the cooling pack 36 protects the user against developing heat stroke or other heat related ailments. Additionally, the hat 12 can be worn without the cooling pack 36 being positioned in the chamber 14.

With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.

Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.

Claims

1. A head cooling hat assembly being configured to cool a person's head when said assembly is worn, said assembly comprising:

a hat being wearable on a user's head, said hat having a chamber being integrated therein; and
a cooling pack being insertable into said chamber in said hat wherein said cooling pack is configured to be in thermal communication with the user's head, said cooling pack being comprised of a freezable material wherein said cooling pack is configured to cool the user's head when the user wears said hat.

2. The assembly according to claim 1, wherein said hat has an inner surface, an outer surface and a lower edge extending therebetween, said chamber being positioned between said inner surface and said outer surface, said chamber extending from a point adjacent to said lower edge upwardly across an apex of said hat wherein said chamber is configured to extend over a top of the user's head when said hat is worn.

3. The assembly according to claim 2, further comprising said inner surface having a cut extending therethrough into said chamber, said cut being spaced from said lower edge, said cut being oriented to be collinear with said lower edge, said cut having a first edge and a second edge.

4. A head cooling hat assembly being configured to cool a person's head when said assembly is worn, said assembly comprising:

a hat being wearable on a user's head, said hat having a chamber being integrated therein, said hat having an inner surface, an outer surface and a lower edge extending therebetween, said chamber being positioned between said inner surface and said outer surface, said chamber extending from a point adjacent to said lower edge upwardly across an apex of said hat wherein said chamber is configured to extend over a top of the user's head when said hat is worn, said inner surface having a cut extending therethrough into said chamber, said cut being spaced from said lower edge, said cut being oriented to be collinear with said lower edge, said cut having a first edge and a second edge;
a cooling pack being insertable into said chamber in said hat wherein said cooling pack is configured to be in thermal communication with the user's head, said cooling pack being comprised of a freezable material wherein said cooling pack is configured to cool the user's head when the user wears said hat.

5. The assembly according to claim 4, further comprising a closure being coupled to said hat, said closure being aligned with said cut for opening and closing said cut, said closure having a first portion being coupled to said first edge of said cut and a second portion being coupled to said second edge of said cut, said first portion being releasably matable to said second portion.

6. A head cooling hat assembly being configured to cool a person's head when said assembly is worn, said assembly comprising:

a hat being wearable on a user's head, said hat having a chamber being integrated therein, said hat having an inner surface, an outer surface and a lower edge extending therebetween, said chamber being positioned between said inner surface and said outer surface, said chamber extending from a point adjacent to said lower edge upwardly across an apex of said hat wherein said chamber is configured to extend over a top of the user's head when said hat is worn, said inner surface having a cut extending therethrough into said chamber, said cut being spaced from said lower edge, said cut being oriented to be collinear with said lower edge, said cut having a first edge and a second edge;
a closure being coupled to said hat, said closure being aligned with said cut for opening and closing said cut, said closure having a first portion being coupled to said first edge of said cut and a second portion being coupled to said second edge of said cut, said first portion being releasably matable to said second portion; and
a cooling pack being insertable into said chamber in said hat wherein said cooling pack is configured to be in thermal communication with the user's head, said cooling pack being comprised of a freezable material wherein said cooling pack is configured to cool the user's head when the user wears said hat, said cooling pack being inserted through said cut to place said cooling pack in said chamber.
