DETAILED DESCRIPTION

Before the present disclosure is described in greater detail, it should be noted that where considered appropriate, reference numerals or terminal portions of reference numerals have been repeated among the figures to indicate corresponding or analogous elements, which may optionally have similar characteristics.

Referring to FIGS. 1, 2 and 3, a first embodiment of a bed sheet set according to the disclosure is adapted for covering a mattress 1, and includes a base unit 2, a cover unit 3 and a connection unit 4.

The base unit 2 includes a bottom layer 21, a surrounding layer 22, a top layer 23 and an elastic band 25. The bottom layer 21 has an opening 24. The surrounding layer 22 extends upwardly from a periphery of the bottom layer 21, and has two opposite first side portions 221, and two opposite second side portions 222 that are connected between the first side portions 221. The top layer 23 is opposite to the bottom layer 21 and is connected to a top peripheral end of the surrounding layer 22. The elastic band 25 is connected to the bottom layer 21 around the opening 24. The bottom, surrounding and top layers 21, 22, 23 cooperatively define a receiving space 26 that is in spatial communication with the opening 24 and that is adapted for receiving the mattress 1.

When the elastic band 25 of the base unit 2 is forced to expand, the opening 24 is enlarged to allow passage of the mattress 1. When the elastic band 25 contracts, the opening 24 is constricted and is smaller than an outer periphery of the bottom layer 21 of the base unit 2.

The cover unit 3 is detachably mounted to the base unit 2, and includes a functional layer 31 and a side layer 32. The functional layer 31 is disposed over the top layer 23 of the base unit 2. The side layer 32 extends downwardly from a periphery of the functional layer 31 and surrounds the surrounding layer 22 of the base unit 2.

It should be noted that the functional layer 31 of the cover unit 3 is adapted for a user to lie thereon, and may include a variety of materials, such as cotton, Tencel, bamboo mat, or a mattress protector with polyester and cotton blend fabric, depending on actual needs.

The connection unit 4 includes first and second connection components 41, 42. The first connection component 41 is mounted to the surrounding layer 22 of the base unit 2. The second connection component 42 is mounted to the side layer 32 of the cover unit 3, is registered with the first connection component 41, and is detachably connected to the first connection component 41 when the cover unit 3 is disposed on the base unit 2.

It should be noted that the first connection component 41 is not limited to the configuration mentioned above; the first connection component 41 may also be mounted to the top layer 23 as long as the first and second connection components 41, 42 can be detachably connected together.

Specifically, the first connection component 41 includes two male fasteners 411, which are in the form of hook portions of hook and loop fasteners and which are mounted respectively to the first side portions 221. The second connection component 42 includes two female fasteners 421, which are in the form of loop portions of hook and loop fasteners and which are mounted to the cover unit 3 and registered respectively with the male fasteners 411.

To put on the bed sheet set, the elastic band 25 is forced by an external force to expand the opening 24 such that the mattress is allowed to pass through the opening 24 and be received in the receiving space 26. Then, the cover unit 3 is disposed on the top layer 23 of the base unit 2, and is secured to the base unit 2 via the connection between the first and second connection components 41, 42.

To take off the cover unit 3 for cleaning or replacement, the second connection component 42 is disconnected from the first connection component 41 such that the cover unit 3 can be easily taken off; there is no need to take off the whole bed sheet set for maintaining hygiene of the cover unit 3.

Referring to FIGS. 4 and 5, a second embodiment of the bed sheet set according to the disclosure is similar to the first embodiment. The difference between the two embodiments resides in that the first connection component 41 of the present embodiment includes only one male fastener 411 that is configured as a rectangular loop, and the second connection component 42 includes only one female fastener 421 that is configured as a rectangular loop, and that is registered with the male fastener 411. In a similar manner, the second embodiment is able to provide the same functionality as the first embodiment.

Referring to FIG. 6, a third embodiment of the bed sheet set according to the disclosure is similar to the first embodiment. The differences between the two embodiments are described as follows.

In the present embodiment, a slit 24′ is formed in one of the first side portions 221 of the surrounding layer 22 of the base unit 2. The base unit 2 further includes a zipper assembly 27 that is connected to the one of the first side portions 221 along the slit 24′ for opening and closing the slit 24′. The cover unit 3 further includes a decorative member 33 that is connected to the periphery of the functional layer 31 and that surrounds the side layer 32.

The first connection component 41 of the connection unit 4 includes two first zipper chains 412 that are mounted respectively to the first side portions 221 of the base unit 2. The second connection component 42 of the connection unit 4 includes two second zipper chains 422 that are mounted to the cover unit 3 and that are registered respectively with the first zipper chains 412. The connection unit 4 further includes two zipper sliders 43 that are connected respectively to the first zipper chains 412 and that are operable for linking and separating the first and second zipper chains 412, 422.

When in use, the zipper assembly 27 is operated for opening and closing the slit 24′, such that the mattress 1 is received in the receiving space 26 via the slit 24′. Each of the zipper sliders 43 is operated to link or separate one of the first zipper chains 412 and a respective one of the second zipper chains 422, so that the cover unit 3 is secured to or can be detached from the base unit 2.

It should be noted that, as long as the mattress 1 can be received in the receiving space 26, it is not necessary to include the zipper assembly 27 in the present embodiment. The third embodiment is also able to provide the same functionality as the first embodiment.

Referring to FIG. 7, a fourth embodiment of the bed sheet set according to the disclosure is similar to the third embodiment. The differences between the two embodiments are described as follows.

In the present embodiment, the surrounding layer 22 of the base unit 2 is formed with a U-shaped slit 24′ that extends from one of the first side portions 221, through one of the second side portions 222, to the other one of the first side portions 221. The zipper assembly 27 of the base unit 2 is connected to the surrounding layer 22 along the slit 24′, and extends from the one of the first side portions 221, through the one of the second side portions 222, to the other one of the first side portions 221.

The first connection component 41 of the connection unit 4 includes only one first zipper chain 412 that is looped along the surrounding layer 22 of the base unit 2. The second connection component 42 of the connection unit 4 includes only one second zipper chain 422 that is configured as a loop mounted to the cover unit 3, and that is registered with the first zipper chain 412. The connection unit 4 includes only one zipper slider 43 that is connected to the first zipper chain 412. Similarly, the fourth embodiment is able to provide the same functionality as the third embodiment.

In sum, by virtue of the connection unit 4, the cover unit 3 can be easily mounted to and dismounted from the base unit 2. Without having to remove the whole bed sheet set, the user can maintain hygiene of the mattress with less effort.
