DECORATIVE PLANTER BOX WITH REMOVABLE FACES

A planter box allows interchangeable tiles to be removed and replaced for different occasions. An embodiment allows decorative tiles to be attached and removed from the planter box without sacrificing the quality or functionality of the planter box. Tiles may be swapped in or out for holidays, sporting events, or any number of occasions. Tiles may be personalized for weddings or big events and easily attached to a planter box and removed at the conclusion of the events.

TECHNICAL FIELD

This disclosure generally relates to a planter box for decorative display purposes. More specifically, this disclosure relates to a decorative planter box with tiles that can be removed and replaced.

BACKGROUND

Planter boxes provide a tasteful option to house plants at homes, offices, shopping centers, and many other public and private spaces. Decorative structures may be integrated into the exteriors of the planter boxes to enhance the visual appeal of the planter boxes.

SUMMARY

In an embodiment, the decorative planter box of this disclosure comprises one or more sidewalls and a plurality of side portions wherein the plurality of side portions, and the one or more sidewalls define one or more recessed areas each recessed area having a perimeter dimension and a depth profile and wherein each recessed area is partially defined by least one sidewall comprising at least one of a ferromagnetic material and at least one magnet.

In an embodiment, the decorative planter box of this disclosure further comprises one or more tiles, each tile comprising a perimeter dimension that is less than the perimeter dimensions of at least one recessed area; a depth profile that is less than or equal to the depth profile of the least one recessed area; at least one of a ferromagnetic material and at least one magnet; and wherein the tile is conformal with the at least one recessed area and wherein the at least one recessed area is configured to receive the tile for removable attachment by magnetic attraction to the at least one sidewall partially defining the at least one recessed area.

In an embodiment, the receptacle configured to house a plant and comprising the one or more sidewalls.

In an embodiment, the receptacle comprises a cellular PVC material.

In an embodiment a decorative planter box of this disclosure comprises a frame configured to receive the receptacle through an opening at a top side and comprising; one or more top rails formed by one or more top side portions of the plurality of side portions; one or more bottom rails formed by one or more bottom side portions the plurality of side portions; and a plurality of posts formed by one or more lateral side portions of the plurality of side portions.

In an embodiment, the decorative planer box of this disclosure further comprises a frame wherein the frame comprises the plurality of side portions and the one or more sidewalls, and the decorative planer box of this disclosure further comprises a receptacle disposed inside the frame and wherein the receptacle is configured to house a plant. In an embodiment, the receptacle comprises cellular PVC.

In an embodiment, one or more side portions of the plurality of side portions comprise one of a ferromagnetic material and at least one magnet and are configured to receive one or more finals for removable attachment by magnetic attraction, each finial, comprising one of a ferromagnetic material and at least one magnet.

In an embodiment, at least one tile of the one or more tiles comprises aluminum.

In an embodiment, at least one tile of the one or more tiles comprise a cellular PVC material.

In an embodiment, the decorative planter further comprises comprising a receptacle configured to house a plant and formed by the plurality of side portions and the plurality of sidewalls

An embodiment of this disclosure comprises a receptacle configured to house a plant and comprising a plurality of sidewalls wherein at least one magnet is embedded in each sidewall; and a frame configured to receive the receptacle through an opening at a top side. In embodiments, the frame comprises at least one top rail; at least one bottom rail; and a plurality of posts wherein the at least one top rail, the at least one bottom rail, the plurality of posts, and the plurality of sidewalls define a plurality of recessed areas when the receptacle is received in the frame, each recessed area being partially defined by at least one sidewall and having a perimeter dimension and a depth profile. An embodiment of this disclosure comprises a receptacle configured to house a plant and comprising a plurality of sidewalls wherein each sidewall comprises a ferromagnetic material; and a frame configured to receive the receptacle through an opening at a top side. In embodiments; the frame comprises: a plurality of posts; at least one top rail; at least one bottom rail; and wherein the at least one top rail, the at least one bottom rail, the plurality of posts, and the plurality of sidewalls define a plurality of recessed areas when the receptacle is received in the frame, each recessed area being partially defined by at least one sidewall and having a perimeter dimension and a depth profile. In embodiments, the planter box further comprises a plurality of tiles, each tile comprising; a perimeter dimension that is less than the perimeter dimension of at least one recessed area; a depth profile that is less than or equal to the depth profile of the least one recessed area; at least one magnet; and wherein the tile is conformal with the at least one recessed area and wherein the at least one recessed area is configured to receive the tile for removable attachment by magnetic attraction to the at least one sidewall partially defining the at least one recessed area.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

The same decoration for a planter box may not be appropriate for all occasions. So there is a need for a more versatile decorative planter box that allows decorative features to be removed and replaced for different events without compromising the quality of the decorations or the functionality of the box structure. An embodiment of a planter box according to the principles of the present disclosure may meet this need by including structural mechanism for removably attaching decorative tiles to the exterior of a planter box. Different tiles may be substituted for different holidays or events, tiles can be mixed and matched to provide creative options, and personalized tiles can be used for important occasions like sporting events, conferences, or weddings.

FIG. 1 depicts an embodiment of a decorative planter box 100 in accordance with the principles of this disclosure. FIG. 1 is provided for illustrative purposes and the embodiments of the decorative planter box of this disclosure are not limited by FIG. 1. Embodiments of the decorative planter box 100, like the one depicted in FIG. 1 may comprise one or more sidewalls 104 and a plurality of side portions 106A, 106B, 106C. In an embodiment, the one or more sidewalls 104 may be generally planar in shape as shown in FIG. 1. In an embodiment, the one or more sidewalls may be configured to have a non-planar shape, such as curved, conical, ellipsoidal, cylindrical, polygonal, convex, concave, regular, irregular, or any combination thereof. In some embodiments, the plurality of side portions 106A, 106B, 106C, and the one or more sidewalls 104 define one or more recessed areas 108 therein, each recessed area 108 having a perimeter dimension 110 and a depth profile 112. In an embodiment, each recessed area 108 is partially defined by least one sidewall 104 comprising at least one of a ferromagnetic material and at least one magnet.

Embodiments of the decorative planter box 100, like the one depicted in FIG. 1 may further comprise one or more tiles 114. Each tile of the one or more tiles 114 may comprise a perimeter dimension 116 that is less than the perimeter dimensions 110 of at least one recessed area 108. In some embodiments, each tile of the one or more tiles 114 may further comprise a depth profile 118 that is less than or equal to the depth profile 112 of the least one recessed area 108. And, in some embodiments each tile of the one or more tiles 114 may further comprise at least one of a ferromagnetic material and at least one magnet 120 wherein the depth, width and height of the tile 114 is conformal with the at least one recessed area 108 and wherein the at least one recessed area 108 is configured to receive the tile 114 for removable attachment by magnetic attraction to the at least one sidewall 104 partially defining the at least one recessed area 108. For example, as depicted in FIG. 1, a tile 115 of the one or more tiles 114 is at least conformal with recessed area 107 of the one or more recessed areas 108. And, recessed area 107 is configured to receive tile 115 for removable attachment by magnetic attraction to the least one sidewall 105 that at least partially defines the recessed area 109.

Embodiments of the decorative planter box 100, like the one depicted in FIG. 1, may also comprise a receptacle 102 configured to house a plant. The receptacle 102 may be configured to house different types of plants in different embodiments. Some embodiments may be designed to provide an appropriate environment for a specific type of plant. The receptacles 102 may come in any shape, or size desired to house a plant. Some examples include but are not limited to, rectangular-shaped receptacles (as depicted in FIG. 1), cylindrical-shaped receptacles, and a variety of polygonal-shaped receptacles.

Different embodiments of the decorative planter box 100 may comprise different numbers of sidewalls 104. In some embodiments, like the one depicted in FIG. 1, the receptacle 102 may be formed, at least in part, with one or more sidewalls 104 that at least partially define the recessed areas 108. However, as will be described elsewhere in this disclosure, the receptacle 102 may be formed independently of the sidewalls 104 and the receptacle 102 may not define any portion of the recessed areas 108. In some embodiments, the receptacle 102 is configured to house a plant and is formed by the plurality of side portions 106A, 106B, 106C, and the plurality of sidewalls 104.

Embodiments of the receptacle 102 may comprise more or less sidewalls 104 than the embodiment depicted in FIG. 1. As mentioned above, in some embodiments, the one or more sidewalls 104 may comprise at least one of a ferromagnetic material and at least one magnet. As will be appreciated, any number of ferromagnetic materials or combinations of materials can be utilized in different embodiments of the sidewalls 104 that comprise a ferromagnetic material. In embodiments wherein sidewalls 104 comprise at least one magnet, any type of magnet may be used. Different numbers of magnets may be used in different embodiments. In some embodiments, the sidewalls 104 may comprise both at least one magnet and a ferromagnetic material. In some embodiments, some of the sidewalls 104 comprise at least one magnet, and other sidewalls 104 comprise a ferromagnetic material. In still other embodiments, some sidewalls 104 comprise both a ferromagnetic material and at least magnet, other sidewalls 104 comprise only at least one magnet, and other sidewalls 104 comprise only a ferromagnetic material. In some embodiments each of the sidewalls 104 comprise at least one magnet. In some embodiments each of the sidewalls of the at least one sidewalls 104 comprise a ferromagnetic material. As will be appreciated the sidewalls 104 and tiles 114 may comprise any combination of magnetic materials that produce magnetic attraction to allow the tiles 114 to be removably attached.

Some embodiments of the decorative planter box 100 may include four recessed areas 108, but it will be appreciated that other embodiments may have more or less recessed areas 108. The magnitude of the perimeter dimension 110 and the depth profile 112 of the recessed area 108 may vary from embodiment to embodiment. In some embodiments, the perimeter dimension 110 and depth profile 112 of each recessed area 108 matches the perimeter dimension 110 and depth profile 112 of all the other recessed areas 108. But, in some embodiments, the perimeter dimension 110 and depth profile 112 of each recessed area 108 may differ from perimeter dimensions 110 and depth profiles 112 of other recessed areas 108.

In an embodiment, each tile of the one or more tiles 114 may include a perimeter dimension 116 that is less than the perimeter dimensions 110 of at least one of the recessed areas 108. Each tile also comprises a depth profile 118 that is less than or equal to the depth profile 112 of at least one of the recessed areas 108. The perimeter dimension 116 and the depth profile 118 of the tiles 114 may vary from embodiment to embodiment. In some embodiments, the perimeter dimension 116 and depth profile 118 of each tile 114 is uniform among all tiles. But, in some embodiments the perimeter dimension 116 and depth profile 118 of each tile 114 may differ from tile to tile.

In an embodiment, each tile of the one or more tiles 114 may include at least one of a ferromagnetic material and at least one magnet 120. As will be appreciated, any number of ferromagnetic materials or combinations of ferromagnetic material can be utilized in different embodiments of the tiles 114. In embodiments that comprise at least one magnet, any type of magnet may be used. Different numbers of magnets may be used in different embodiments. Stronger or weaker magnets may be needed for different embodiments depending on the different types of materials that may be used for other parts of the planter box 100. In some embodiments, tiles 114 may comprise both at least one magnet and a ferromagnetic material. In some embodiments, some tiles 114 comprise at least one magnet and other tiles 114 comprise a ferromagnetic material. In still other embodiments, some tiles 114 comprise both a ferromagnetic material and at least one magnet, other tiles 114 comprise only at least one magnet, and other tiles 114 comprise only a ferromagnetic material. In some embodiments, each of the tiles 114 comprises at least one magnet. In some embodiments each of the tiles 114 comprise a ferromagnetic material.

FIG. 2 depicts an exploded view of an embodiment of a tile 214 of an embodiment of the decorative planter box 200 in accordance with the principles of this disclosure. Tile 214 comprises a plurality of magnets 220 embedded in a tile 214. This allows the tile 214 to be received into recessed area 208 for removable attachment. FIG. 2 also depicts a tile 215 received into recessed area 209 and attached to the planter box. It is to be appreciated that the principles illustrated in FIG. 2 with respect to planter box 200 may be applied to any planter boxes of the present disclosure.

As will be appreciated, tiles 214 may comprise many different forms in different embodiments. For example, in some embodiments, tiles 214 may comprise a back panel, a front panel, and a plurality of magnets. When assembled, magnets of such embodiments are embedded in the tile between the back panel and the front panel. Different embodiments may use different numbers of magnets. The magnets may be arranged in different ways in different embodiments. In some embodiments, the magnets may be located on an exterior surface of the tile rather than embedded inside the tile. Embodiments that comprise embedded magnets allow magnets to be embedded in any way known in the art. In some embodiments, magnets may simply be drilled into a tile. In some embodiments, the tiles may comprise a single unit that does not need any assembly. FIG. 2 is provided for illustrative purposes and does not limit the embodiments of the disclosure. And, unless explicitly stated otherwise, all the different embodiments of tiles of this disclosure may be combined the all the different embodiments of the decorative planter box of this disclosure.

As will be appreciated, in different embodiments, tiles 114 may be formed of a variety of different materials known in the art including, but not limited to PVC, cellular PVC, other plastics, polyresins, aluminum, other metals or alloys, wood or other organic materials, clay, glass, porcelain or other ceramic materials, other materials known in the art, or any combination of materials.

Returning to FIG. 1, in some embodiments, all of the recessed areas of the one or more recessed areas 108 are conformal with all of the tiles 114 allowing all the tiles 114 to be interchangeably swapped in and out of the different recessed areas 108. However, in other embodiments, each one of the recessed areas 108 may only be conformal with one tile, or subset of tiles, of the one or more tiles 114. In such embodiments, recessed areas 108 may only receive conformal tiles 114 for removable attachment. For example, some recessed areas may have a circular geometry that can receive circular tiles while other recessed areas may have a rectangular geometry that can only receive rectangular tiles. And, embodiments of the decorative planter box 100 may have both rectangular and circular tiles and corresponding circular and rectangular recessed areas.

Magnetic attraction between tiles 114 and the sidewalls 104 may arise between the magnetic or ferromagnetic materials of the tiles 114 and sidewalls 104. As discussed elsewhere in this disclosure, both the tiles 114 and the sidewalls 104 may comprise magnets, ferromagnetic materials, or both. These materials may be selected and arranged in many different possible ways to create the magnetic force sufficient to secure a tile 114 to a sidewall 104 in a recessed area 108. In some embodiments tiles 114 may comprise at least one magnet and sidewalls 104 may comprise a magnet, ferromagnetic material or both. In some embodiments, sidewalls 104 may comprise at least one magnet and tiles 114 may comprise a magnet, ferromagnetic material or both. The magnetic force needed to secure the tile 114 to a sidewall 104 may vary from embodiment to embodiment depending on a multitude of factors including but not limited the materials used to form the tiles 114 and sidewalls 104, the weight of the tiles 114 and sidewalls 104, the thickness of the tiles 114 and sidewalls 104, and the location of magnets and any ferromagnetic materials used. Some embodiments may also employ additional mechanisms to secure the tiles in place in the recessed areas such as latches, beveling of the tile and recessed area, locks, fasteners or other means known in the art.

The tiles 114 may further comprise a decorative feature 122. The decorative feature may comprise any pattern, design, crest, or emblem that can fit on the outer surface of the tiles 114. The decorative feature 122 may comprise a holiday-themed design that can be swapped in or out at the appropriate time of year. The decorative feature 122 may comprise a personalized design for a wedding, sporting event or other occasion. Or, the decorative feature 122 may comprise the logo of a favorite sports that is seasonally displayed. As can be appreciated, the different possibilities for the decorative feature are endless 122.

The perimeter dimensions 110 and depth profile 112 of the recessed areas 108, the perimeter dimensions 116 and depth profile 118 of the tiles 114, the conformal geometry of the elements, and removable attachment by magnetic attraction allow tiles 114 to fit near seamlessly into the recessed areas 108. This allows embodiments of the decorative planter box 100 to quickly and easily change their appearance with the removal and attachment of new tiles 114 while maintaining a tasteful, high-quality aesthetic that cannot be achieved by stickers or other disposable options. This advantage is achieved without compromising the functionality of the planter box 100. And, embodiments of this disclosure allow tiles 114 to be removed and replaced if they are damaged without forcing consumers to purchase entirely new planter boxes to house plants. Additionally, embodiments of this disclosure give owners the flexibility to purchase new tiles to update their aesthetic without having to buy a brand new planter and having to transport plants from old boxes to new boxes.

Tiles 114 may be removed from the planter box 100 by any means known in the art. For example, in some embodiments, the tiles may comprise a notch for a finger or tool to allow tiles 114 to be pulled away from the sidewalls 104. In some embodiments, the sidewalls 104 may comprise an access hole to allow the tiles 114 to be pushed out of the recess areas 108 from inside the receptacle 102. As can be appreciated, the decorative planter box 100 can employ a variety of other means to extract or eject the tile from the recessed area including but not limited buttons and other mechanical means.

The side portions 106A, 106B, 106C of some embodiments of the decorative planter box 100, like the one depicted in FIG. 1 may further comprise top portions 106A, bottom portions 106B and lateral portions 106C. As will be appreciated, in some embodiments, the side portions may not comprise each of the top, bottom or side portions. For example, in some embodiments, the side portions may only comprise lateral portions 106C. And, recessed areas 108 may be defined by lateral portions 106C and the one or more sidewalls 104. In other embodiments, the side portions may only comprise top and bottom portions 106A, 106B. And, recessed areas 108 may be defined by top and bottom portions 106A, 106B and the one or more sidewalls 104. As will be appreciated, recessed areas may be defined by different combinations of side portions and sidewalls.

In some embodiments, like the one depicted in FIG. 3, the decorative planter box 300 may comprise a frame 324 configured to receive the receptacle 302 through an opening 326 at a top side 328 of the frame 324. In an embodiment, like depicted in FIG. 3, the receptacle 302 may be removed and replaced in the frame 324. In some embodiments, the receptacle 302 may be permanently attached to the frame 324. The frame 324 may comprise one or more top rails 330 formed by one or more top portions of the plurality of side portions. The frame 324 may also comprise one or more bottom rails 332 formed by one or more bottom portions the plurality of side portions. And, the frame 324 may comprise a plurality of posts 334 formed by one or more lateral portions of the plurality of side portions. In such embodiments, the one or more top rails 330, bottom rails 332, posts 334, and sidewalls 304 define the one or more recessed areas 308 when the receptacle 302 is received in the frame 324, like depicted in FIG. 4.

In some embodiments, the frame 324 comprises the plurality of side portions and the one or more sidewalls. Such embodiments allow the recessed areas 308 to be formed of the frame 324 without cooperation from the receptacle 302. Such embodiments may allow a receptacle 302 disposed inside the frame 324 and wherein the receptacle 302 is configured to house a plant. But, other embodiments may not have a receptacle 302. In some embodiments the frame 324 and receptacle 302 may be assembled independently. But, in some embodiments, the decorative planter box 300 may be assembled from units that comprise a portion of the frame 324 and a portion of the receptacle 302. For example, a cubic-shaped planter box may be assembled from four units wherein each unit comprises one of the four sides of the frame and one of the four sides of the receptacle. And, when the four units are joined they may form a receptacle and a frame. It will be appreciated that the planter boxes 300 of this disclosure may be assembled in many other ways known in the art.

As depicted in FIG. 4, the receptacle 302 may be formed of a single unit. But, in other embodiments, the receptacle 302 may be formed from assembled parts. In some embodiments, the frame 324 may be formed of a single unit. But, in other embodiments, the frame 324 may be formed from assembled parts. The receptacle 302 or the frame 324 may be formed from many different materials including, but not limited to, PVC, cellular PVC, other plastics, polyresins, aluminum, other metals or alloys, wood or other organic materials, clay, glass, porcelain or other ceramic materials, other materials known in the art, or any combination of materials In some embodiments, the receptacle 302, frame, or both are formed of a single molded unit. In some embodiments, the receptacle 302, frame 324, or both are assembled from molded parts. The sidewalls 304 of the receptacle may comprise any of the embodiments of sidewalls discussed elsewhere in this disclosure including, but not limited to, all the different embodiments comprising magnets, ferromagnetic materials, or both. FIGS. 3 and 4 are provided for illustrative purposes and do not limit the embodiments of this disclosure.

With reference to FIG. 4 and FIG. 5, in some embodiments, one or more side portions 306 of the plurality of side portions comprise one of a ferromagnetic material and at least one magnet and are configured to receive one or more finals 336 for removable attachment by magnetic attraction, each finial 336, comprising one of a ferromagnetic material and at least one magnet 320 (depicted in FIG. 5). Finials 336 may be formed of any suitable material known in the art including, but not limited to PVC, cellular PVC, or other plastics, polyresins, aluminum or other metals, wood or other organic material, clay, glass, porcelain or other ceramic materials, or any combination of materials. In some embodiments, at least one magnet, ferromagnetic material, or both may be embedded in the finial 336. In some embodiments, at least one magnet, ferromagnetic material, or both may be attached to an exterior surface of the finial 336. In some embodiments, at least one magnet, ferromagnetic material, or both may be embedded in the side portions of the plurality of side portions 306. In some embodiments, at least one magnet, ferromagnetic material, or both may be attached to an exterior surface of the side portions of the plurality of side portions 306. Any arrangement of magnets and ferromagnetic material may be utilized to achieve the magnetic force necessary to secure the final 336 to the side portions 306. Different embodiments may require different arrangements depending on the types of materials used for the finials and side portions, the thickness of the finials and side portions, the strength of the magnetic materials and a variety of other factors. Although FIG. 4 depicts a decorative planter box 300 comprising a frame 324, the finials 336 configured for removable attachment to the side portion 306 may be combined with any of the embodiments of the decorative planter box 300 of this disclosure including those embodiments that do not comprise a frame.

The removable finials 336 allow the decorative planter box 300 even more versatility because the finials 336 can be removed and replaced for different occasions. In some embodiments, finials 336 may be decoratively matched with tiles 314.

Referring to FIG. 3, in embodiments, the decorative planter box 300 of this disclosure comprises a receptacle 302 configured to house a plant and comprising a plurality of sidewalls 304 wherein at least one magnet is embedded in each sidewall. In some embodiments each sidewall 304 comprises a ferromagnetic material. The decorative planter box 300 may further comprise a frame 324 configured to receive the receptacle 302 through an opening 326 at a top side 328 and comprising a plurality of posts 334, at least one top rail 330, and at least one bottom rail 332 wherein the at least one top rail 330, the at least one bottom rail 332, the plurality of posts 334, and the plurality of sidewalls 304 define a plurality of recessed areas 308 when the receptacle is received in the frame, each recessed area 308 being partially defined by at least one sidewall 304 and having a perimeter dimension and a depth profile (as depicted in FIG. 1). In embodiments, the decorative planter box 300 of this disclosure comprises a plurality of tiles 314, each tile comprising a perimeter dimension that is less than the perimeter dimension of at least one recessed area (as depicted in FIG. 1); a depth profile that is less than or equal to the depth profile of the least one recessed area (as depicted in FIG. 1); a ferromagnetic material; and wherein the tile 314 is conformal with the at least one recessed 308 area and wherein the at least one recessed area 308 is configured to receive the tile 314 for removable attachment by magnetic attraction to the at least one sidewall 304 partially defining the at least one recessed area 308. In some embodiments, each tile 314 comprises a magnet.

While various embodiments in accordance with the principles disclosed herein have been described above, it should be understood that they have been presented by way of example only, and are not limiting. Claims

1. A decorative planter box comprising:

one or more sidewalls;
a plurality of side portions;
wherein the plurality of side portions, and the one or more sidewalls define one or more recessed areas each recessed area having a perimeter dimension and a depth profile and wherein each recessed area is partially defined by least one sidewall comprising at least one of a ferromagnetic material and at least one magnet;
one or more tiles, each tile comprising; a perimeter dimension that is less than the perimeter dimensions of at least one recessed area; a depth profile that is less than or equal to the depth profile of the least one recessed area; at least one of a ferromagnetic material and at least one magnet; and wherein the tile is conformal with the at least one recessed area and wherein the at least one recessed area is configured to receive the tile for removable attachment by magnetic attraction to the at least one sidewall partially defining the at least one recessed area.

2. The decorative planter box of claim 1, a receptacle configured to house a plant and comprising the one or more sidewalls.

3. The decorative planter box of claim 2, wherein the receptacle comprises a cellular PVC material.

4. The decorative planter box of claim 2, further comprising a frame configured to receive the receptacle through an opening at a top side and comprising;

one or more top rails formed by one or more top side portions of the plurality of side portions;
one or more bottom rails formed by one or more bottom side portions the plurality of side portions; and
a plurality of posts formed by one or more lateral side portions of the plurality of side portions.

5. The decorative planer box of claim 1, further comprising a frame wherein the frame comprises the plurality of side portions and the one or more sidewalls.

6. The decorative planter box of claim 5 further comprising a receptacle disposed inside the frame and wherein the receptacle is configured to house a plant.

7. The decorative planter box of claim 6, wherein the receptacle comprises cellular PVC.

8. The decorative planter box of claim 1, wherein one or more side portions of the plurality of side portions comprise one of a ferromagnetic material and at least one magnet and are configured to receive one or more finals for removable attachment by magnetic attraction, each finial, comprising one of a ferromagnetic material and at least one magnet.

9. The decorative planter box of claim 1, wherein at least one tile of the one or more tiles comprises aluminum.

10. The decorative planter box of claim 1, wherein at least one tile of the one or more tiles comprise a cellular PVC material.

11. The decorative planter box of claim 1, further comprising a receptacle configured to house a plant and formed by the plurality of side portions and the plurality of sidewalls.

12. The decorative planter box of claim 11, wherein the receptacle comprises a molded material.

13. The decorative planter box of claim 12, wherein the receptacle comprises polyresin material.

14. The decorative planter box of claim 11, wherein the receptacle comprises cellular PVC material.

15. The decorative planter box of claim 1, wherein the one or more tiles comprise at least one magnet.

16. The decorative planter box of claim 1, wherein the one or more of tiles comprise a ferromagnetic material.

17. The decorative planter box of claim 1, wherein the one or more sidewalls comprises at least one magnet.

18. The decorative planter box of claim 1, wherein the one or more sidewalls comprise a ferromagnetic material.

19. A decorative planter box comprising:

a receptacle configured to house a plant and comprising a plurality of sidewalls wherein at least one magnet is embedded in each sidewall
a frame configured to receive the receptacle through an opening at a top side and comprising; a plurality of posts; at least one top rail; at least one bottom rail; and wherein the at least one top rail, the at least one bottom rail, the plurality of posts, and the plurality of sidewalls define a plurality of recessed areas when the receptacle is received in the frame, each recessed area being partially defined by at least one sidewall and having a perimeter dimension and a depth profile;
a plurality of tiles, each tile comprising; a perimeter dimension that is less than the perimeter dimension of at least one recessed area; a depth profile that is less than or equal to the depth profile of the least one recessed area; a ferromagnetic material; and wherein the tile is conformal with the at least one recessed area and wherein the at least one recessed area is configured to receive the tile for removable attachment by magnetic attraction to the at least one sidewall partially defining the at least one recessed area.

20. A decorative planter box comprising: wherein the tile is conformal with the at least one recessed area and wherein the at least one recessed area is configured to receive the tile for removable attachment by magnetic attraction to the at least one sidewall partially defining the at least one recessed area.

a receptacle configured to house a plant and comprising a plurality of sidewalls wherein each sidewall comprises a ferromagnetic material;
a frame configured to receive the receptacle through an opening at a top side and comprising; a plurality of posts; at least one top rail; at least one bottom rail; and wherein the at least one top rail, the at least one bottom rail, the plurality of posts, and the plurality of sidewalls define a plurality of recessed areas when the receptacle is received in the frame, each recessed area being partially defined by at least one sidewall and having a perimeter dimension and a depth profile;
a plurality of tiles, each tile comprising; a perimeter dimension that is less than the perimeter dimension of at least one recessed area; a depth profile that is less than or equal to the depth profile of the least one recessed area; at least one magnet; and
