FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention is directed to a low profile extreme close quarter self defense purposes. More particularly, the present invention may be utilized by the individual employing it as a ‘stay away’ or ‘get off me’ device.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The use of sticks as tools or as offensive and defensive weapons has been around for eons. Moses threw his staff onto the ground and it turned into a serpent. Warriors sharpened the end of a stick and made a spear. Shepherds put a hook in the end of a stick and made a crook to herd sheep. Farmers affixed a horizontal blade to the end and made a hoe; a wider blade evolved into the shovel.

The length of the stick varied with use over time. The general concept of a short stick that could be utilized as a striking tool or as a means of breaking grips and holds by applying force to pressure points on the human body has been around for centuries.

The actual dimensions of the various sticks vary widely. There are koppo sticks, yawara sticks, hashi sticks and kubatons to name but a few.

Today, the sticks are not even necessarily out of wood but are made from a variety of materials such as metal, ceramic, and plastic.

Some have raised groves or sunken groves to facilitate gripping by the human hand.

Today, the ‘sticks’ have been modified and enhanced in many ways. Some bear a screw eye or swivel and split ring attachment at one end to which keys may be attached, becoming self defense key chain sticks. Others, commonly known as ‘ninja key chains’, have hidden darts or hidden containers of tear gas. Yet others contain an ink cartridge becoming self defense ink pens.
