A cone shaped cigarette with hard tip and method for manufacture where a cone shaped paper encasement can contain shredded botanical material and a hard tip member having an inhaling aperture is inserted into the small end of the cone shaped paper encasement by an FDA approved adhesive. A filter member can be inserted into the tip of the hard tip member. A preferred embodiment includes the hard tip member being made of borosilicate glass. The hard tip member can be cylindrical in shape or cone shaped to match the side walls of the paper encasement. A preferred embodiment includes the glass hard tip member being transparent and the filter member is colored allowing the filter member to be viewed through the glass hard tip member.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

This invention relates generally to the field of cigarette devices and more specifically to cone shaped cigarette with hard tip and method for manufacture.

The smoking of botanical materials such as tobacco has been done and continues to be done by a portion of the population around the world. One form of smoking is done by inserting the botanical material into a paper encasement. A well know embodiment of a tobacco infused product is called a cigarette. Most of the time the paper encasement is cylindrical in shape. However, some recent forms of smoking include cone shaped paper encasements. These cone shaped cigarettes are usually hand rolled. However, there are some manufacturers in Europe that currently make and fill the cone shapes by machine. In either case, some users of cone shaped cigarettes prefer to insert a hard tip that is made of glass or other hard material for ease of smoking.

Users currently do their best to have the hard tip fit snuggly within the small end of the cone shaped paper encasement so that it will remain in place during use.

However, in actual cigarette rolling circumstances the ability for a person to consistently achieve a tight fit between the outside wall of the hard tip and the inside wall of the cone shaped paper encasement is difficult even for the most experienced rollers of cone shaped cigarettes, causing the hard tip to fit loosely and potentially fall out.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The primary object of the invention is to provide a cone shaped cigarette that includes the insertion and attachment of a hard tip for interaction with the user's mouth.

Another object of the invention is to provide a method of attaching the hard tip to the end of the cigarette using an FDA approved adhesive.

Another object of the invention is to provide a cone shaped cigarette with hard tip that includes a filter member.

Other objects and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from the following descriptions, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, wherein, by way of illustration and example, an embodiment of the present invention is disclosed.

In accordance with a preferred embodiment of the invention, there is disclosed a cone shaped cigarette with hard tip and method for manufacture comprising: a cone shaped paper encasement, a hard tip member having an aperture for drawing smoke, a portion of FDA approved adhesive, said cone shaped paper encasement being open ended on both ends, said hard tip member fitting snuggly within the small end of said cone shaped paper encasement, said hard tip member being secured within said paper encasement by said FDA approved adhesive, and said cone shaped paper encasement capable of being filled with shredded botanical material.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS AND PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

Detailed descriptions of the preferred embodiment are provided herein. It is to be understood, however, that the present invention may be embodied in various forms. Therefore, specific details disclosed herein are not to be interpreted as limiting, but rather as a basis for the claims and as a representative basis for teaching one skilled in the art to employ the present invention in virtually any appropriately detailed system, structure or manner.

Referring now to FIG. 1 we see a side view of a cone shaped paper encasement 2. is conical in shape however it can be flattened during production and the exact diameter measured for the small end 51 of the cone based on the formula C=2Pi R. The flattened cone shape equals half the circumference. So, if a specific diameter of three hundred and fifteen thousandths is needed for a snug fit of the hard tip 4 with the inside of the small end of the cone shaped paper encasement, then the flattened paper would need to have a width of four hundred and ninety-three thousandths of an inch. The paper would be cut at dotted line 16 which represents the proper width. The cut can be done manually or automatically by a die cutting machine that is programmed to look for the desired width for cutting purposes.

FIG. 2 is a side section view of a glass tip 4 which is cylindrical in shape and has two indentations 8, 10 for helping to trap botanical material so that it does not exit from the user end of the tip 4. An optional filter member 6 is installed at the user end where the user's mouth engages with the tip. This filter can be a paper spiral type or can be made of other common filter materials including cotton or silicone. The filter 6 can be made of colored material so that it will enhance the appearance of the overall product since the tip is made of transparent borosilicate glass. It should be noted that the tip 4 can be made of other hard or semi hard materials including metal, wood, high temperature plastic or high durometer silicone rubber.

FIG. 3 is an exploded view showing all major components including paper encasement 2, hard tip 4 and filter member 6. To attach the hard tip 4 into the encasement 2 an FDA approved adhesive such as methyl cellulose compound is applied to the outside of the tip 4 at location 18. The compound 18 is moist and seeps into the paper encasement during the tip 4 insertion process. When the compound 18 dries, the tip 4 and the surrounding encasement 2 are firmly attached. Filter member 6 is inserted into the end of tip 4 and is frictionally retained within the inside diameter of the tip 4. Other adhesive compounds may be used such as the thickening agent Bermatoli or the compound known as Agar.

FIG. 4 is a side section view of the entire product 50. Tip 4 is inserted into small end 51 of the cone shaped paper encasement 2. Botanical material 12 has been inserted into the large end 52 of the encasement, and then the excess material 53 at the large end of encasement 2 has been folded over to physically retain the botanical material 12. This folded configuration 53 is optional in that the botanical material 12 can remain in the paper encasement 2 without need of an additional enclosure 53.

FIG. 5 is a side section view of an alternate embodiment of the tip 14 which is partially conical in shape and matches the angle of the internal side walls of the paper encasement 2. The partial conical shape of the tip 14 allows for a more easily formed continuous engagement of the tip 14 to the paper cone 2. The tip becomes cylindrical at the mouth engaging end thereby allowing for the easy insertion of the optional filter member 6.

FIG. 6 is a section view of the alternate tip 14 with filter member 6 in place.

While the invention has been described in connection with a preferred embodiment, it is not intended to limit the scope of the invention to the particular form set forth, but on the contrary, it is intended to cover such alternatives, modifications, and equivalents as may be included within the spirit and scope of the invention as defined by the appended claims.

Claims

1. A cone shaped cigarette with hard tip and method for manufacture comprising:

a cone shaped paper encasement;
a hard tip member;
a portion of FDA approved adhesive;
said cone shaped paper encasement being open ended on both ends;
said hard tip member having a through aperture and fitting snuggly within the small end of said cone shaped paper encasement;
said hard tip being secured within said paper encasement by said FDA approved adhesive; and
said cone shaped paper encasement capable of being filled with shredded botanical material.

2. A cone shaped cigarette with hard tip and method for manufacture as claimed in claim 1 further comprising a filter member inserted into the human mouth engaging aperture portion of said hard tip member.

3. A cone shaped cigarette with hard tip and method for manufacture as claimed in claim 1 wherein said hard tip member is made of borosilicate glass.

4. A cone shaped cigarette with hard tip and method for manufacture as claimed in claim 1 wherein one embodiment said hard tip member is cylindrically shaped.

5. A cone shaped cigarette with hard tip and method for manufacture as claimed in claim 1 wherein another embodiment said hard tip member is partially conically shaped to match the angle of the side walls of said cone shaped paper encasement.

A cone shaped cigarette with hard tip and method for manufacture as claimed in claim 1 further comprising the steps of flattening and cutting the small end of said cone shaped paper encasement in a perpendicular fashion in relation so that the inside diameter of the small end of said paper encasement is the same as the outer diameter of said hard tip member;

said FDA approved adhesive applied to the outside surface of said hard tip member and said hard tip member then inserted into the said small end of said cone shaped paper encasement;
said FDA approved adhesive allowed to harden thereby securing said hard tip member to said cone shaped paper encasement.

7. A cone shaped cigarette with hard tip and method for manufacture as claimed in claim 1 wherein said FDA approved adhesive is a Methyl Cellulose Compound.

8. A cone shaped cigarette with hard tip and method for manufacture as claimed in claim 3 wherein said glass hard tip member is transparent and said filter member is colored allowing said filter member to be viewed through said glass hard tip member.
