Fitted Sheet Attached To Pillow Case
A consumer operated fitted sheet with a pillow case sewn into the sheet for convenient pillow insertion and removal includes a pillow cover that has an opening to insert and remove the consumers hands. A horizontal stitching from corner to corner on the top of the sheet connects both the pillow cover and the fitted sheet where pillows are placed. The pillow cover is sewn to stay in place and keep the pillows from falling out while the consumer sleeps. The bottom section of the pillow cover is sewn horizontally, it is sewn in sections because of a curved opening in the center of the stitching near the bottom of the pillow cover, to insert and remove the consumers hands. Each side of the pillow cover has a wide opening to insert and remove pillows, the wide opening enhances the process without creating tension to the all in one sheet.
The present invention is in the field of fitted bed sheets and pillow cases.
2. Description of Related ArtIn the art of bedding, more particularly fitted sheets, various kinds of fitted sheets have been developed to cover a beds mattress. Standard fitted sheets include elastic bands around the stitching of the sheet allowing the sheet to stay on the mattress without movement. The pillow case although, is not restrained by any materials and is free to move around, creating an increased chance for the pillow to fall off the bed. Creating an increased chance of neck pains and sleep discomfort.
One limitation with traditional pillow cases is that they are difficult to insert pillows, for example the pillow case isn't a firm object and has to be held at a certain angle to properly insert the pillows. This creates a problem not only for the average user but for larger scale quantities such as in hotels or cruise ships. The time to make the bed is nearly twice as long when using standard fitted sheets and pillow cases, forcing unnecessary frustration to the consumer, and ultimately decreasing the time of productivity of a worker when viewed in a wider aspect such as hotels or cruise ships.
Current pillowcases have several issues, one being that not all pillowcases fit different size pillows. Often times users have to combine two different size pillow cases just to cover the length of one large pillow. Not being the proper fit, the pillow usually slides out of the makeshift pillow case and ends up being exposed and possibly creating a hazard if caught in the pillow case while sleeping.
Therefore, what is clearly needed is a fitted sheet and pillow case combination that can solve the above-mentioned problems.
BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONIn one embodiment of the invention, a consumer operated fitted sheet with a pillow case sewn into the sheet for pillow access is provided, comprising a pillow cover with an opening to insert hands, and two openings on the sides for insertion and removal of the pillows. There is a horizontal stitching from the top corner of the fitted sheet to other side of the top of fitted sheet to create the pillow cover. The pillow cover acts as a trap for the pillows, preventing the pillows from being able to move nor fall off the bed, even with rough sleeping. The top stitching is sewn from side to side to firmly keep the pillow cover attached to the fitted sheet, without this the all in one sheet would not be possible.
As displayed in an embodiment, the bottom of the pillow cover is sewn horizontally side to side near the top of the fitted sheet. In the center of the pillow cover near the bottom stitching there is a wide and curved opening, stitched only on the edges of the pillow cover to prevent the fabric from tearing apart. The curved opening is a key feature for easy insertion and removal of the consumers hands for easy access to the pillows from either side of the bed. Each side of the pillow cover has a wide opening to insert and remove the consumers pillows without creating tension to the stitching of the fitted sheet nor the pillow cover fabric.
Also, in an embodiment, A pillow cover is sewn into the fitted sheet, including several variations of the material on the fitted sheets, a few being satin-silk, microfiber and bamboo materials.
Also, in another embodiment, further detailed, the pillow covers have an opening in the center to insert and remove the hands of the consumer, efficiently and without tension to the fitted sheets stitching's nor the pillow covers stitching. This opening allows the consumer to reach and remove the pillow more efficiently or to warm up their hands while they sleep.
In another aspect of the invention, further examined the openings of the pillow covers inserts, in the all in one fitted sheet, have excess fabric that is necessary to create the space for the pillow to move freely and without tension to the fabrics nor stitching's. The pillow cover is sewn into the fitted sheet with the intentions of fitting two pillows from standard to larger sizes, and even extra-large pillows for a convenience to everyone.
The inventor provides a unique fitted sheet with a sewn in pillow cover, allowing an easy insertion and removal of the pillows from both sides of the fitted sheet. The fitted sheet is designed with an opening in the middle of the pillow cover to insert and remove the hands of the consumer. The present invention is described in enabling detail in the following examples, which may represent more than one embodiment of the present invention.
An opening in the middle of the bottom stitching of the pillow covers, as shown in the example in Model B in
It will be apparent to one with skill and knowledge in the art, that the fitted sheet attached to the pillow case in the present invention may be provided using some or all of the mentioned features and components without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention. It will also be apparent to the skilled artisan that the embodiments described above are specific examples of a single broader invention which may have greater scope than any of the singular descriptions taught. There may be many alterations made in the descriptions without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention.
