HairBandit

The HairBandit is a hairband that securely holds medium to long length hair. Currently, bonnets that cover the entire head, and tight hair ties are the main option to achieve such goals. Hair is consequently broken, stripped from scalp, and thinned out with tight ponytails. The HairBandit can be utilized in a hospital setting, food service industry, sports, fitness, outdoor realms, with potential to expand.

BACKGROUND

The HairBandit was developed after multiple reprimands in a surgical setting for hair falling loose out of a surgical bonnet, causing risk to sterility of the operative environment. The hair then had to be tied in various styles resulting in hair breakage, thinning hairline, headache, and unwillingly modifying hair lengths. Given surgical lights emit heat, sweat becomes a factor that compromised hair staying in place. The HairBandit remediates all the aforementioned complications. The HairBandit neatly holds long hair with its posterior pouch in a nonabrasive manner, with an ‘open construct’ to decrease body temperature.

SUMMARY

The HairBandit is a specialized hairband that has an out-pouch at its posterior position. This item is worn comfortably around the head with a flexible fit. The pouch is made out of a flexible material to accommodate a large spectrum of hair volumes. The hair is neatly and securely placed into the outpouching in the back. The HairBandit will revolutionize the healthcare setting, food service industry , sports appareling, with significant potential to translate to other environments.

Measurements: The circumference of the HairBandit is approximately 17 inches, up to preferably 1 inch variance. The width of the HairBandit is approximately 3 inches, up to 1 inch variance. The ovoid “opening” at the posterior aspect is approximately 3 inches, up to 1 inch variance. The “body” of the ovoid outpouching is 5 inches×3 inches, with up to 1 inch variance wide and in height. The elastic strip within the body of the HairBandit is approximately 6 inches, up to 1 inch in variance. The label at the left lateral aspect of the Hairbandit measure approximately 2.25×0.5 inches.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

HairBandit is a hairband constructed from blends of cotton, Spandex, Lycra, and nylon. The band will be worn around the head along the hairline. In the posterior aspect of the HairBandit is an outpouching in an ovoid shape. The ovoid outpouching and the hairband is attached in a continuous manner. There is an elastic band sewn within the band to add tension to the posterior aspect of the band.

1. A headband apparatus comprising a headband and a pouch secured to the posterior portion of the headband.
