Description
BACKGROUND 1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates generally to baggage systems, and more specifically, to a multi-purpose dressing system for carrying a change of clothing and doubling as changing mat.

2. Description of Related Art

Baggage systems are well known in the art and are effective means to carry or transport items or objects from one place to another. For example, FIG. 1 depicts a conventional gym bag 101 having a pouch 103 with an opening 105 and straps 107, additionally FIG. 2 depicts a common floor mat 201 having a standing area 203. In use, a person carries a change of clothes, hygiene items or the like, in the pouch 103 of the gym bag 101 to a gym, or other places where a changing of clothes occurs, there they change clothing. The mat 203, with its standing area 203 is used to stand on to provide comfort, safety or other to the person while the change.

One of the problems commonly associated with gym bag 101 and floor mat 201 is their limited efficiency. For example, public places where the changing of clothes occurs have an increased presence of germs, bacteria or other contaminants that are undesirable to the health of the person, for this reason, a floor mat 201 is carried in the gym bag 101. This reduces the space available in the pouch 103 or requires a larger pouch 103, meanwhile during the changing of clothes the gym bag 101 serves no function.

Accordingly, although great strides have been made in the area of gym bags 101 and floor mats 201, many shortcomings remain.

DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

The novel features believed characteristic of the embodiments of the present application are set forth in the appended claims. However, the embodiments themselves, as well as a preferred mode of use, and further objectives and advantages thereof, will best be understood by reference to the following detailed description when read in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, wherein:

FIG. 1 is a front view of a common gym bag;

FIG. 2 is an elevated front view of a common floor mat;

FIG. 3 is a front view of a multi-purpose dressing system in accordance with a preferred embodiment of the present application;

FIG. 4 is a front view of the system of FIG. 3 with the interior exposed;

FIGS. 5A and 5B are cross-sectional views of the system of FIG. 3; and

FIG. 6 is a flowchart of a method of preparing a place to stand and change.

While the system and method of use of the present application is susceptible to various modifications and alternative forms, specific embodiments thereof have been shown by way of example in the drawings and are herein described in detail. It should be understood, however, that the description herein of specific embodiments is not intended to limit the invention to the particular embodiment disclosed, but on the contrary, the intention is to cover all modifications, equivalents, and alternatives falling within the spirit and scope of the present application as defined by the appended claims.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

Illustrative embodiments of the system and method of use of the present application are provided below. It will of course be appreciated that in the development of any actual embodiment, numerous implementation-specific decisions will be made to achieve the developer's specific goals, such as compliance with system-related and business-related constraints, which will vary from one implementation to another. Moreover, it will be appreciated that such a development effort might be complex and time-consuming, but would nevertheless be a routine undertaking for those of ordinary skill in the art having the benefit of this disclosure.

The system and method of use in accordance with the present application overcomes one or more of the above-discussed problems commonly associated with conventional gym bags and floor mats. Specifically, the invention of the present application allows the person to efficiently carry a mat within the construction of the bag. These and other unique features of the system and method of use are discussed below and illustrated in the accompanying drawings.

The system and method of use will be understood, both as to its structure and operation, from the accompanying drawings, taken in conjunction with the accompanying description. Several embodiments of the system are presented herein. It should be understood that various components, parts, and features of the different embodiments may be combined together and/or interchanged with one another, all of which are within the scope of the present application, even though not all variations and particular embodiments are shown in the drawings. It should also be understood that the mixing and matching of features, elements, and/or functions between various embodiments is expressly contemplated herein so that one of ordinary skill in the art would appreciate from this disclosure that the features, elements, and/or functions of one embodiment may be incorporated into another embodiment as appropriate, unless described otherwise.

The preferred embodiment herein described is not intended to be exhaustive or to limit the invention to the precise form disclosed. It is chosen and described to explain the principles of the invention and its application and practical use to enable others skilled in the art to follow its teachings.

Referring now to the drawings wherein like reference characters identify corresponding or similar elements throughout the several views, FIG. 3 depicts a front view of a multi-purpose dressing system in accordance with a preferred embodiment of the present application. It will be appreciated that system 301 overcomes one or more of the above-listed problems commonly associated with conventional gym bags and floor mats.

In the contemplated embodiment, system 301 includes a pouch 311 with a front panel 305 and a back panel 303 bound together on the sides. The pouch 311 includes a strap 309 wherewith the system 301 is carried. The interior surface 307 of the back panel 303 is of an absorbent or non-slip material and as depicted by FIG. 4 the inner surface 403 of the front panel is of water-resistant material. It is further contemplated that the pouch 311 includes a pocket 401. As further depicted by FIGS. 5A and 5B the layers of system 301 are reversible.

In use, a person or other user places items or objects in the pouch 311 and transports them to a location such as a gym. The items are removed and pouch 311 is reversed so that the inner surface 403 and interior surface 407 of the front panel 305 and the back panel 303 respectively are on the exterior of the system 301. The system 301 is placed on the ground or a surface and the person stands on thereon.

It should be appreciated that one of the unique features believed characteristic of the present application is that the pouch 311 is reversible so that when not in use as a bag they system creates a portable and personal mat.

Referring now to FIG. 6 a method of preparing a place to stand and change is depicted. Method 601 includes removing clothing or other items from a pouch 603, inverting the pouch 605, placing the inverted pouch on the ground 607, standing on the pouch 609, changing cloths 611, collecting the pouch 613 and re-inverting the pouch 615 and using the pouch to carry clothing or other items 617.

The particular embodiments disclosed above are illustrative only, as the embodiments may be modified and practiced in different but equivalent manners apparent to those skilled in the art having the benefit of the teachings herein. It is therefore evident that the particular embodiments disclosed above may be altered or modified, and all such variations are considered within the scope and spirit of the application. Accordingly, the protection sought herein is as set forth in the description. Although the present embodiments are shown above, they are not limited to just these embodiments, but are amenable to various changes and modifications without departing from the spirit thereof.
