Firm Feet

Firm feet is a shoe like device created by Sukari Barnes to aid the modern-day exerciser. 53% of adults 18 and over have met the physical activity guidelines for aerobic physical activity. (NationalCenter for Health Statistics. Centers for Disease Control, 2017.). Adult Americans are becoming increasingly concerned about their health, physical fitness, and appearance. Firm feet was created to assist a person who loves to do sit ups daily. It is a device that controls body placement by sucking your feet to the floor while performing sit ups. The shoe like device fits snuggly and completely over both feet with the ability to adjust to the person's size. A strap is placed around the ankles in the back of the foot and suction cups on the bottom of the device will suction to the floor securing both feet firmly to the floor. Firm feet is an ideal invention for people performing push-ups or whatever exercises that require straight up body positioning with their feet on the floor. Once exercising is complete, a button is pushed on the outer side of each shoe like device which will release the suction and straps on the back of the foot.

Description

The title of this invention is Firm Feet. The inventor is a 43 year old female, married mother of two college students and a retired Correction officer. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. and is an American citizen. Sukari Barnes resides at 111 Maple Parkway, Staten Island, N.Y. 10303. She is the sole inventor of this patent, and claims rights and ownership over her intellectual property.

Sukari Barnes has created the utility patent Firm Feet. The apparatus will fit snuggly and completely over both feet with the ability to adjust to the person's size. A strap is placed around ankles in the back of foot, and suction cups on the bottom of the device will suction to the floor securing the item Firm feet firmly to the floor. A button on the outer side of the shoe like device will release the suction and straps on the back of the firm feet once the user is finished with the product. The purpose is to hold the persons foot in place while they are doing sit-ups or other exercises that require body positioning in place for maximum workout benefits.

While doing sit-ups most people have difficulty staying in place and their feet firmly to the floor. Sukari Barnes is an avid work out individual who exercises daily including cardio, yoga etc. She solved this problem by creating Firm Feet. The device controls body placement by sucking your feet to the floor while performing sit-ups. The device will be made up of plastic or cloth, price will reflect material used. The idea is for people to fit their sneaker into it like a slipper, while the device secures their feet in place. The apparatus will be made from a flexible plastic that the user will slide each foot in. There will be adjustable straps to secure the foot in place made from plastic and Velcro. The straps will be located on the top and rear of the device. There will also be a button on the outer mid-section of the will control the suction cups on the bottom of the apparatus. The button will serve to inflate and deflate the suction cups to suction sweet feet to the floor and to release the sneaker like structure. Firm Feet can be made in plastic to accommodate users with sneakers or socks on that prefer plastic. It can also be produced in washable cloth that can be put on like sneakers for bare feet or to wear with socks.

Claims

1. A device that the user places each foot in comprised of:

a. Flexible plastic that uses straps to adjust and fit to the users feet
b. The straps will be made from plastic and Velcro
c. There will be a strap on the top of the device to secure the top of the foot
d. There will be a strap in the rear that will fit around the ankle to securely hold the foot in place
e. A button on the mid outer rear will serve as an air release button
f. The purpose of the button will be to inflate suctions with air to stick the device to the floor and to deflate when user is done to release the device from the floor.
g. The purpose is to hold the users feet in place for maximum body position while the individual does sit-ups.
h. The device may be made in washable cloth if future consumers decide there is a demand for this invention to accommodate people that are barefoot or using socks.
