Abstract

The slotted upright attachment adaptor kit of the present disclosure and related inventions is used to create retail space where it did not previously exist. It allows for temporary promotional or seasonal displays to be attached to an existing fixture without the use of tools. The kit includes a slide bar, four attachment pins or fasteners and one or more s-hooks.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention is in the field of retail fixtures. More specifically, the present invention is directed to an adaptor kit which allows creates an attachment point to a retail display fixture slotted upright.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The slotted upright attachment adaptor kit of the present disclosure and related inventions is used to create retail space where it did not previously exist. It allows for temporary promotional or seasonal displays to be attached to an existing fixture without the use of tools. The kit includes a slide bar, attachment hardware and one or more display hooks.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED AND ALTERNATE EMBODIMENTS

The slotted upright attachment adaptor kit 100 of the present disclosure and related inventions is used to create retail space where it did not previously exist. It allows for temporary promotional or seasonal displays to be attached to an existing fixture without the use of tools. The kit includes a slide bar 10, four attachment pins or fasteners 12 and one or more s-hooks 14.

The kit 100 is intended to be used with an existing display fixture 15 having at least one slotted upright 16. The components of the kit 100 interact with the slotted upright 16 to create retail display space. The slide bar 10 is preferably steel but can be made of other materials. It is a substantially flat or planar elongate strip having a slight lip or edge 18 forming an L-shape. The slide bar 10 contains four circular openings 20A-D pre-drilled thereon for engagement with the four attachment pins 12. In one embodiment, the slide bar 10 is approximately 12-inches in length with an approximately 0.6-inch height. Each of the pre-drilled holes 20 are approximately 0.261-inch diameter. There are two pre-drilled holes 20A, 20B located to the left of the horizontal midpoint of the slide bar 10 and two pre-drilled holes 20C, 20D located to the right of the horizontal midpoint of the slide bar 10, as shown in FIGS. 2 and 3. The two inner holes 20A, 20B are approximately 2.5 inches apart and the two outer holes 20A, 20B are approximately 5.5 inches apart. The slight lip or edge 18 attached to the substantially slide bar 10 is approximately 0.375 inches long. The four attachment pins or fasteners 12 can be of any type suited to fit through the pre-drilled holes 20A-D on the slide bar 10 and fastened without the use of additional tools. For example, a fastener having a base and a body which are attached on opposing sides of the slide bar 10 can be used or a one-piece canoe clip with a prong arm which compresses when it is inserted into the opening and snaps back as it passes through, as shown in FIG. 2. The one or more s-hooks 14 contain an s-shaped configuration with a downward facing cavity on one side of the hook 14 and an upward facing cavity on the opposite side of the hook 14. The downward facing cavity is inserted over the slide bar 10 and the upward facing cavity is used to support and display product display fixtures for containing merchandise or to display hanging merchandise directly, as shown in FIGS. 1 and 3.

In operation, as shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, the slider bar 10 is inserted directly through an opening or slot in a slotted upright 16 of a retail display fixture. Two fasteners 12 are placed into two holes 20A, B on slide bar 10 to the left of the slotted upright 16 and two fasteners 12 are placed into two holes 20C, D on slide bar 10 to the right of the slotted upright 16, as shown in the figures. The fasteners 12 keep the slide bar 10 in place on the slotted upright 16. One or more s-hooks 14 can be inserted over the slider bar 10. Product display fixtures and/or merchandise/packaging can then be inserted into the upward facing cavity on each s-hook 14 to suspend the product display fixtures and/or merchandise/packaging therefrom. The kit 100 creates additional retail space on the side of an existing retail display that did not previously exist.

While materials have been described herein with respect to the components of the kit, however, other materials have been contemplated and are considered to be within the scope of this invention. Additionally, sizes and specific spacing of the components have been provided for a specific embodiment, or example and are not intended to limit the invention in any way. Other sizes and spacing or orientation may be used. Also, a specific type of fastener and hanger hook have been provided as examples only and other attachment and hanger hardware can be used. The hanger hook can be used to hold product display fixtures for containing and displaying merchandise therein or the hanger hook can directly hold merchandise or product packaging of the merchandise therefrom.

The foregoing embodiments of the present invention have been presented for the purposes of illustration and description. These descriptions and embodiments are not intended to be exhaustive or to limit the invention to the precise form disclosed, and obviously many modifications and variations are possible in light of the above disclosure. The embodiments were chosen and described in order to best explain the principle of the invention and its practical applications to thereby enable others skilled in the art to best utilize the invention in its various embodiments and with various modifications as are suited to the particular use contemplated. It is intended that the invention be defined by the following claims.

Claims

1. A retail display attachment adaptor kit comprising:

a flat, planar, bar having two or more pre-drilled holes thereon;

two or more attachment pins;

two or more hanger hooks;

wherein the bar is operative to be inserted into one slot of a slotted upright and the two or more attachment pins are operative to fit into the two or more pre-drilled holes on the bar to secure the bar to the slotted upright, and wherein the two or more hanger hooks are operative to be inserted over the bar and to support product display fixtures or merchandise or packaging suspended therefrom.

2. The retail display attachment adaptor kit of claim 1, wherein the bar is operative to extend through the slotted upright such that a portion of the bar is located on the left of the slotted upright and a portion of the bar is located on the right of the slotted upright.

3. The retail display attachment adaptor kit of claim 1, wherein product display fixtures or merchandise or packaging can be suspended from the bar on both sides of the slotted upright.

4. The retail display attachment adaptor kit of claim 1, wherein the flat, planar bar contains a lip.

5. The retail display attachment adaptor kit of claim 1, wherein the hanger hooks are s-shaped hanger hooks.

6. The retail display attachment adaptor kit of claim 5, wherein the s-shaped hanger hooks contain one upward facing channel and one downward facing channel.

7. The retail display attachment adaptor kit of claim 1, wherein the kit can be attached to a slotted upright without the use of tools.

8. A retail display attachment adaptor kit comprising:

a slider bar having at least two apertures thereon;

two or more attachment elements operative to attach to the at least two apertures on the slider bar;

wherein the slider bar is operative to be inserted through one slot of a slotted upright and attached thereto by inserting at least one of the two or more attachment elements into the at least two apertures on the slider bar to the left of the slot and inserting at least one of the two or more attachment elements into one of the at least two apertures on the slider bar to the right of the slot, and

one or more s-shaped hooks operative to attach to the slider bar and also to suspend and retain a product display fixture or merchandise directly therefrom.

9. The retail display attachment adaptor kit of claim 8, wherein the slider bar is substantially flat and planar.

10. The retail display attachment adaptor kit of claim 8, wherein the slider bar has a lip creating a slight l-shaped slider bar.

11. The retail display attachment adaptor kit of claim 8, wherein the two or more attachment elements contain two parts, a first part which gets inserted into a first side of one of the at least two apertures on the slider bar and a second part which is inserted over the first part on a second side of one of the at least two apertures on the slider bar.

12. The retail display attachment adaptor kit of claim 8, wherein the two or more attachment elements are one-piece canoe clips.

13. The retail display attachment adaptor kit of claim 8, wherein the two or more attachment elements are attachment pins.

14. The retail display attachment adaptor kit of claim 8, wherein the kit can be attached to a slotted upright without the use of tools.

15. The retail display attachment adaptor kit of claim 8, wherein the one or more s-shaped hooks are operative to be removably attached to the slider bar.

16. A retail display attachment adaptor kit comprising:

a substantially planar slider bar;

two or more attachment hardware operative to be inserted into two or more pre-drilled holes on the slider bar;

one or more s-shaped hooks removably attached to the slider bar;

wherein the slider bar is inserted through an opening in a retail fixture and secured thereto with the two or more attachment hardware; and

wherein the one or more s-shaped hooks are operative to suspend a display fixture or merchandise therefrom.

17. The retail display attachment adaptor kit of claim 16, wherein one of the two or more attachment hardware is attached to the slider bar to the left of the opening in the retail fixture and one of the two or more attachment hardware is attached to the slider bar to the right of the opening in the retail fixture.

18. The retail display attachment adaptor kit of claim 16, wherein the kit can be assembled without the use of tools.

19. The retail display attachment adaptor kit of claim 16, wherein each attachment hardware is one-piece.

20. The retail display attachment adaptor kit of claim 16, wherein each attachment hardware have two pieces.
