Description

The invention is the interchangeable combination of: (i) devices/chambers for holding fluids (e.g. hair color, conditioner or other hair care product) that includes at one end a spray-top application device for the delivery of fluids of varying viscosity (e.g. fine mist nozzle or cream dispenser) and (ii) a device, including connection support, for the fluid holding chambers that contain individual teeth for combing or brushing, including combing the fluid contained in the fluid holding chamber into the hair.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The convertible spray comb/brush applicator is for use in the hair/fur care and hair/fur treatment field. There is currently no similar product available in the market to address the issue of easily applying fluids, including water, oil, hair dye or hair chemicals in an easily portable and interchangeable device that also contains a brush or comb for applying and evenly distributing the fluid into the hair/fur.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The convertible spray comb/brush applicator is the interchangeable combination of chambers (“Liquid Chambers”) for the emission and/or application of different types of liquid-based products of varying viscosity (including water, conditioners, oils, hair dyes, creams and chemicals) for the care and/or treatment of hair, and the semi-permanent attachment of a comb, brush or similar item (any such item referred to herein as an “Applicator”) to work the liquid applied from the Liquid Chambers into the hair/fur. The three main parts of this invention are the Liquid Chambers, the Applicators, and the mechanism for the semi-permanent attachment of the Liquid Chamber to the Applicator. The particular problems solved by the spray comb/brush applicator include portability (individual bottles can be transported, leak free, and attached to the comb applicator when needed). In addition because the spray comb/brush applicator allows for interchangeable dispenser bottles the device can be used to provide for a variety of hair treatments.

FIG. 4: Depicts two overhead views—one of the Liquid Chamber attached to a comb-like Applicator, the second view of a Liquid Chamber attached to a brush-like Applicator.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The convertible spray comb/brush applicator includes three main components—a comb or brush for working the oil, cream, dye or other product into the hair or fur, a dispenser bottle and a method for attaching the dispenser bottle to the comb/brush in a semi-permanent, easily detachable method. The dispenser bottle may be designed with a ‘screw-in’ feature in molded plastic along with retaining arms attached to the comb body or, alternatively, the dispenser bottles will be attached via by clipping the bottle to the comb body. Dispenser bottles containing fluid will be leakproof and when filled can be stored and/or carried for later use. Dispenser bottles can also be refilled. All components will be made of plastic and/or materials providing similar lightweight shatterproof functionality. When in use the person using the device, either on their own hair or the hair of another, can simultaneously spay or pump the fluid to be used on the person's hair while running a comb or brush through the hair. This invention is distinguished from other methods of application of hair products through the teeth of the brush or comb. This invention is also distinguished from inventions that contain within the structure of the comb or brush a finable chamber (much like a squirt gun). This invention, unlike other devices with similar goals, allows for interchangeable parts allowing for the user to quickly mix fluids and applicators.

Claims
