MEN'S UNDER SHORTS

An improved men's underwear that provides for quick access to penis for faster and cleaner urination. This underwear is the first to allow catheterized men to use underwear giving them back their dignity. The underwear includes a movable sheath and stretchable opening that allows fabric to slide back and forth the shaft of the penis. This stretchable opening also allows for the changing/inserting of catheters without having to take off the underwear. To urinate one simply slides back the fabric (over the zipper teeth) exposing the penis and then upon completion pushes the material forward completely covering the penis. The penis and zipper teeth never touch each other.

Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to men's under shorts, and more particularly to accessibility to the penis provided by men's under shorts.

Access to the penis can be difficult when wearing conventional men's under garments. For example, no underwear currently exists for men who are in need of catheterization.

Traditional underwear forces the user to expose and rest his penis on the cold metal teeth of the pants' zipper. This traditional method increases the risk of a common injury that can occur when a guy accidently catches his penis on his pants zipper. It is one of the most common genital injuries.

Likewise, attempting to access the penis through the small opening of the traditional fly, while experiencing the urge to urinate is irritating and at times painful. The passage way from the small opening of the fly to the outside over the teeth of the zipper of the pant usually strangles the flow of urination leading to leakage once the penis is placed back in the underwear. This seepage inside the underwear leads to an unsanitary environment for the male genitals. Minor to severe zipper cuts have been experienced on the penis and testicles in the attempt to get everything out in time to avoid leakage incidents.

In traditional underwear there is no separation of the penis from the testicles and the space provided is usually tight. The testes are forced to reside close to the body at all times. Testes are housed inside the scrotum, which acts as a climate control system for the testes. For normal sperm development, the testes must be at a temperature slightly cooler than the body temperature. The cramped quarters of traditional underwear therefore inhibits normal sperm development.

As can be seen there is a need for an improved men's under garment that allow catheterized men to use underwear, giving them back their dignity. There is also a need for a men's underwear that fosters rather than inhibits sperm development.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The following detailed description is of the best currently contemplated modes of carrying out exemplary embodiments of the invention. The description is not to be taken in a limiting sense, but is made merely for the purpose of illustrating the general principles of the invention, since the scope of the invention is best defined by the appended claims.

Broadly, embodiments of the present invention provide an underwear garment that includes a movable fabric sheath and stretchable opening that houses the shaft of the penis. This stretchable opening also allows for the changing/inserting of catheters without having to take off the underwear. The fabric sheath and stretchable opening also provides ready access and protection from a zipper of pants worn over the under garment.

As seen in reference to the drawings of FIGS. 1-5, the men's underwear 10 of the present invention includes a fabric material formed as a pair of shorts having a top opening 11 and a waist band 20 encircling the waist of the user. A pair of leg openings 18 are defined at a lower end of the underwear 10 and dimensioned to encircle the legs of the user. The leg openings 18 may be at the end of sleeved legs 19, in a shorts type configuration, or defined without the sleeved legs 19, in a brief type configuration. A main body of the underwear 10 may be fabricated from an elastic or stretchable material which is engineered to accommodate different torso sizes for optimal comfort. The ends at the bottom represent a folded finish cuff in the fabric. The main body may be formed from one large panel that will house the buttocks, the hips and thighs as well as a portion of the inner thighs. The length and selection of the material on the thighs will vary depending on the style of underwear (i.e. boxer briefs, trunks, long underwear, or one piece under garment covering the torso, genitals, and buttocks, etc.). It is adjoined by other pieces of fabric of the same or similar material joined at the genital region of the male anatomy. The purpose of this large one-piece panel 19 is to minimize seams and maximize comfort.

The left side 19 and a right side 19 of the underwear 10 are joined by a front panel 12 having an upper 12a and a lower segment 12b defined at the front of the garment. The lower segment 12b is formed in a fabric sleeve 12b or sheath that extends from the front of the underwear 10. The fabric sleeve 12b has an opening at each of a proximal and a distal end thereof. The opening at the proximal end is positioned in the front panel 12 between the upper 12a segment and a pouch 17 so that the opening it is aligned with the base of the penis, when worn.

The fabric sleeve 12b has a length to cover and carry the penis so that it is held separately from the scrotum when worn by the user. The fabric sleeve 12b is angled downwardly and forwardly from the front panel. The fabric sleeve 12b, proximal, and distal openings are provided with a diameter so that the penis is received therein without constriction. The selective positioning of the fabric sleeve 12b allows for a quick and easy access to insert or remove a catheter without having to take off the underwear 10. The selective positioning of the sheath 12b also facilitates urinating for the common man.

The pouch 17 is positioned below the lower segment 12b of the front panel and defines a compartment or pouch 17 between the legs 19 that houses the scrotum and testicles. The underwear 10 of the present invention is more biological and anatomical in nature instead of lumping the penis and testicles together into a hot and uncomfortable environment. The testes are housed inside the scrotum, which has a protective function and acts as a climate control system for the testes. For normal sperm development, the testes must be at a temperature slightly cooler than the body temperature. The pouch 17 is preferably made of a breathable mesh fabric in order to improve ventilation and cooling for the scrotum and testes carried therein. In some embodiments, an inseam panel 21 may be joined to the interior of the legs 19 and subjacent to the pouch 17 may also be fabricated with a mesh fabric to further enhance ventilation. Accordingly, the underwear 10 can be used as underwear for men who are having trouble with low and unhealthy sperm count.

In some embodiments, a pocket 14 is fitted on the lateral aspect of the leg to house a condom. This pocket is specifically designed to reach the contents by pulling the condom down and out from the bottom. This feature is to promote the practice of safe sex by housing latex condom.

It should be understood, of course, that the foregoing relates to exemplary embodiments of the invention and that modifications may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as set forth in the following claims.
