Facial Concealment Assembly

A facial concealment assembly for concealing a user's face when the user is sleeping includes a fitment that is extendable around a user's head. A brim is coupled to the fitment and a screen is removably coupled to the brim. Thus, the screen hangs downwardly from the brim when the fitment is worn on the user's head. The screen has a length of at least 14.0 inches such that the screen covers the user's face and chest when the fitment is worn around the user's head. The screen is comprised of a one-way see through material to conceal the user's face and chest from observers. In this way the user can sleep discretely on public or private transportation.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION (1) Field of the Invention (2) Description of Related Art Including Information Disclosed Under 37 CFR 1.97 and 1.98

The disclosure and prior art relates to concealment devices and more particularly pertains to a new concealment device for concealing a user's face when the user is sleeping.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a fitment that is extendable around a user's head. The screen is comprised of an opaque material to conceal the user's face and chest from observers. In this way the user can sleep discretely on public or private transportation.

There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.

The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWING(S)

The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:

FIG. 1 is a top perspective view of a facial concealment assembly according to an embodiment of the disclosure.

FIG. 2 is a back perspective view of an embodiment of the disclosure.

FIG. 3 is a right side in-use view of an embodiment of the disclosure.

FIG. 4 is a side perspective in-use view of an embodiment of the disclosure.

FIG. 5 is a perspective in-use view of an embodiment of the disclosure.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, a new concealment device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.

As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 5, the facial concealment assembly 10 generally comprises a fitment 12 that is extendable around a user's head 14. The fitment 12 has a first end 16, a second end 18 and an outer surface 20 extending therebetween, and the outer surface 20 has a first side 22 and a second side 24. The fitment 12 is elongated between the first 16 and second 18 ends such that the fitment 12 can be wrapped around the user's head 14. The fitment 12 may be comprised of a compressible material, such as a fibrous textile or the like, to enhance comfort for the user. Additionally, the fitment 12 may be comprised of an elastic material.

A first mating member 26 is coupled to the fitment 12 and the first mating member 26 is positioned on the first side 22 of the outer surface 20 of the fitment 12. Additionally, the first mating member 26 is positioned adjacent to the first end 16 of the fitment 12. A second mating member 28 is coupled to the fitment 12 and the second mating member 28 is positioned on the second side 24 of the outer surface 20 of the fitment 12. The second mating member 28 is positioned adjacent to the second end 18 of the fitment 12.

The first mating member 26 releasably engages the second mating member 28 such that the fitment 12 forms a closed loop around the user's head 14. Moreover, each of the first 26 and second 28 mating members is elongated thereby facilitating the fitment 12 to form a closed loop with various diameters. In this way the fitment 12 can accommodate different sizes of heads. Each of the first 26 and second 28 mating members may comprise a hook and loop fastener or other type of releasable fastener.

A brim 21 is provided and the brim 21 is coupled to the fitment 12. The brim 21 has a back edge 23, a front edge 25 and a bottom surface 27 extending therebetween. The back edge 23 is coupled to the second side 24 of the outer surface 20 of the fitment 12 and the brim 21 is centrally positioned between the first end 16 and the second end 18 of the fitment 12.

A screen 30 is coupled to the fitment 12 and the screen 30 hangs downwardly from the fitment 12 when the fitment 12 is worn on the user's head 14. The screen 30 has a length of at least 14.0 inches, thereby facilitating the screen 30 to cover the user's face 32 and chest 34 when the fitment 12 is worn around the user's head 14. The screen 30 is comprised of a one-way see through material to conceal the user's face 32 and chest 34 from observers while allowing the user to see through the screen 30. In this way the user can sleep discretely on public or private transportation.

The screen 30 has a top edge 36 and the top edge 36 has a length of at least 12.0 inches. A plurality of fasteners 38 is each of the fasteners 38 is coupled to the screen 30. The fasteners 38 are spaced apart from each other and are distributed along the top edge 36 of the screen 30. Each of the fasteners 38 releasably engages a respective one of the couplers 29 for suspending the screen from the brim 21. Moreover, the screen 30 is spaced outwardly from the user's face when the fitment 12 is worn around the user's head 14. Each of the fasteners 38 may comprise complementary fasteners, such as snaps, hooks or other type of releasable fastener.

In use, the fitment 12 is wrapped around the user's head 14 and the first 26 and second 28 mating members are mated to each other. Each of the fasteners 38 is coupled to the respective couplers 29. In this way the screen 30 hangs downwardly over the user's face 32 and the user's chest 34. Thus, the user's face 32 and the user's chest 34 are concealed when the user is sleeping on public or private transportation, such as a bus or a commercial airliner. In this way a female can sleep on public transportation with discretion. Moreover, any inadvertent facial expressions are hidden from observers thereby enhancing privacy for the user when the user is sleeping. The fitment 12 and the screen 30 can be easily folded and stored for transportation.

With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.

Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
