Abstract

A way to secure your beverage container or phone/device while using a public urinal. The art includes adding a beverage and/or device holder, built into the urinal as a recessed or raised part of the top of the fixture. It also creates an aftermarket add-on attachment that accomplishes the same thing.

FIELD OF INVENTION

The invention relates to the urinal manufacturing industry.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

When patrons at a bar or restaurant use the urinal, they often have nowhere to set a beverage or their phone. They often set their beer etc. on top of the urinal. That usually works fine but sometimes the beverage slides off of the urinal and crashes to the floor.

There have been quite a few patents that attached a cup holder to the top of the flushing mechanism.

The solution should be to incorporate a cup/device holder into the urinal itself during the manufacture of the urinal.

By creating a separate recessed slot in the urinal or by including it into the beverage holder, a device holder is created.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

This art creates a beverage and device holder for a standup type men's urinal. The two holders will be incorporated into the design and manufacture of the urinal.

In one version of the art, the beverage holder is a recessed circular shape, sized to accommodate the standard beer can, wine or cocktail glass or bottled water. The circular shape has an outlet or drain that is level with or lower than the sides of the urinal. That drain allows any moisture to drain out of the cup holder.

In some versions of the art, the circular cup holder has grooves or slits in the sides that allow a phone or similar device to stand up, propped between the edges of the groove.

In one version of the art, the slits or grooves for the phone or device is built in with the cup holder. In one version of the art, the groove that would allow a phone or computer device to be propped up, is a separate component to the urinal.

In one version of the art, the cup holder, with or without the side grooves for the phone/device, are after market attachments that can be glued into place and look the same as a raised version of the art.

The outlet or drain for this art can be a grooved low spot that lets the water follow gravity and flow out the front, back or side of the cup/device holder. The drain may be a hole drilled through the urinal's recessed holder area and allows the moisture to drain straight down to the urinal bowl below.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

This invention is a very simple design. By incorporating the cup and/or device holders into the design and original manufacture of the urinal, an attractive, efficient and effective system is created.

It is more convenient for the patron that has a beer or a phone in their hand. It reduces broken glass and spilled drinks from those that set a drink on top of the urinal just to have it slide off.

Claims

1. A beverage holder built in to the design of a standard urinal.

2. A holder for a device such as a phone or computer, built into the design of a urinal.

3. A recessed area built in to the top of a urinal, that has a drain built in to it.

4. A recessed circular beverage holder that has one or more slits or grooves, to accommodate a phone when a beverage is not in the holder. The grooves would be on the sides of the holder.
