Golf Tee Tethering Device

A golf tee tethering device is shown and described. The golf tee tethering device includes a fit length of material. The first length of material has loops at both ends sized to fit a golf tee within the loops. The loop is secured to a golf tee using multiple rubber washers. The rubber washers are sized to frictionally fit around a golf tee.

CROSS REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS

This application claims the benefit of U.S. Provisional Application No. 62/943,886 filed on Dec. 5, 2019. The above identified patent application is herein incorporated by reference in its entirety to provide continuity of disclosure.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a golf tee tethering device. More particularly, the present invention provides a device that will tether a golf tee in a close proximity to the user.

When playing golf, a golf tee is regularly used. The golf tee holds a golf ball above the ground to allow for a golfer to hit the ball. This is often done on the first shot of every hole. Often, when a golf shot is hit using a golf tee, the golf tee is also struck by a golf club. This causes the golf tee to fly away from the proximity of the golfer.

Golf tees often are not recovered after the golf shot due to the unpredictability of the tee flight. Further, there is usually longer grass around the area the first shot of every hole is taken from. This means that the tee may become lost in the grass after the shot. Golf tees can create an unsightly golfing area when a multitude of them begin to cluster in one area. Further, golf tees can cause damage to a mower when they are run over. This could become costly when repairs are required.

Consequently, there is a need for an improvement in the art of locating a golf tee after the golf shot. The present invention substantially diverges in design elements from the known art while at the same time solves a problem many people face when using a golf tee. In this regard the present invention substantially fulfills these needs.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention provides a golf tee tethering device wherein the same can be utilized for providing convenience for the user when using a golf tee tethering device. The golf tee tethering device is comprised of a length of a material having loops at both ends. A first rubber washer sized to frictionally fit around a golf tee. A second rubber washer sized to frictionally fit around a golf tee. The first rubber washer is placed atop a loop on one end of the material and the second rubber washer is placed beneath the loop at the same end of the material.

Another object of the golf tee tethering device is to provide a material that is a cable.

Another object of the golf tee tethering device is to provide a material that is a material that is green.

Another object of the golf tee tethering device is to provide loops that are created by braiding the material into itself.

other object of the golf tee tethering device is to provide a first rubber washer that is thinner than the second rubber washer.

other object of the golf tee tethering device is to provide a second length of material having loops at both ends. The second material and the first material are movably secured together. A loop of the first material is formed around the length of the second material and a loop of the second material is formed around a length of the first material.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Reference is made herein to the attached drawings. Like reference numerals are used throughout the drawings to depict like or similar elements of the golf tee tethering device. For the purposes of presenting a brief and clear description of the present invention, a preferred embodiment will be discussed as used for the golf tee tethering device. The figures are intended for representative purposes only and should not be considered to be limiting in any respect.

Referring now to FIG. 1, there is shown a perspective view of the tether for the golf tee tethering device. The tether for the golf tee tethering device includes a first length of material 101. In one embodiment the first length of material 101 is a cable material. In another embodiment the first length of material 101 is a cord material. In yet another embodiment the first length of material 101 is a covered cable material. In one embodiment the first length of material 101 is a green material. This will allow the first length of material 101 to be inconspicuous and to blend into the grass.

The first length of material 101 has a loop 102 formed at each end. In one embodiment the loops 102 are formed by braiding the first length of material 101 back into itself. In another embodiment the loops 102 are made by tying the first length of material 101. In yet another embodiment a second material may be used to lash the first length of material 101 together creating the loops 102.

Referring now to FIG. 2, there is shown an exploded view of an embodiment of the golf tee tethering device. The golf tee tethering device further includes at least one first washer 201. In one embodiment the at least one first washer 201 is made from rubber. This will allow the at least one first washer 201 to be flexible and have a high coefficient of friction. In several embodiments the there are several first washers 201 included with the golf tee tethering device as described below.

In some embodiments the golf tee tethering deice includes at least one second washer 202. In one embodiment the at least one second washer 202 is made from rubber. This will allow the at least one second washer 202 to be flexible and have a high coefficient of friction. In several embodiments the there are several second washers 202 included with the golf tee tethering device as described below.

In one embodiment the first washer 201 is thinner than the second washer 202. In one embodiment a first washer 201 is placed above a loop 102. A second washer 202 is then placed below the same loop 102. A golf tee 203 is placed through the first washer 201, the loop 102, and the second washer 202, securing the device to the golf tee 203. In one embodiment the positioning of the washers 201, 202 is used to make the depth that the golf tee shall be placed into a ground surface. This will ensure the same depth is used each time.

In one embodiment a second set of first washer 201 and second washer 202 is used to secure a second golf tee 204 to the other loop 102. The second golf tee can then be placed in the ground to secure the device. When the first golf tee 203 is struck the second golf tee 204 and the first length of material 101 will prevent the golf tee 203 from flying away.

Referring now to FIG. 3, there is shown a perspective view of an alternative design for the golf tee tethering device. In some embodiments the tether for the golf tee tethering device includes a second length of material 301. In one embodiment the second length of material 301 is a cable material. In another embodiment the second length of material 301 is a cord material. In yet another embodiment the second length of material 301 is a covered cable material. In one embodiment the second length of material 301 is a green material. This will allow the second length of material 301 to be inconspicuous and to blend into the grass.

The second length of material 301 has a loop 302 formed at each end. In one embodiment the loops 302 are formed by braiding the second length of material 301 back into itself. In another embodiment the loops 302 are made by tying the second length of material 301. In yet another embodiment another material may be used to lash the second length of material 301 together creating the loops 302.

In one embodiment a loop 102 of the first length of material 101 is created around the second length of material 301. In another embodiment a loop 302 of the second length of material 301 is created around the first length of material 101. This will allow the first length of material 101 and the second length of material 301 to be slidably connected together. In use this will allow for energy to be dissipated when a golf tee is struck by sliding the two loops 102, 301 over the respective material 101, 301.

Referring now to FIG. 4, there is shown a side view of an embodiment of the golf tee tether secured to a golf tee and a divot repair tool. In one embodiment the first washer 201 and the second washer 202 will fit over a plurality of different devices. In another embodiment there is a third washer of a different size. This will allow the golf tee tethering device to be secure to a device other that a golf tee. In the shown embodiment the first washer 201 and the second washer 202 is used to secure a loop 102 of the golf tee tethering device to a divot repair tool 401. In other embodiments varying combination of washers are used to secure the golf tee tethering device to different tools.

Referring now to FIG. 5, there is shown a perspective view of an embodiment of the golf tee tethering device secured to a towel. In one embodiment the golf tee tethering device is secured to an object using the first length of material 101 and the loop 102. In this embodiment the first length of material 101 is placed through an aperture of the device to be secured. The material is then placed through a loop 102 located at one end of the first length of material 101. The first length of material is then pulled tight securing the desired object. In the shown embodiment a golf towel 501 is shown as an example. In other embodiments items such as keys, weights, or brushes are used. A golf tee is then secured to the opposite loop 102 ensuring that the golf tee does not fly away when struck.

It is therefore submitted that the instant invention has been shown and described in what is considered to be the most practical and preferred embodiments. It is recognized, however, that departures may be made within the scope of the invention and that obvious modifications will occur to a person skilled in the art. With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of the invention, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by the present invention.

Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the invention. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the invention to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the invention.

Claims

1) A golf tee tethering device, the device comprises:

a length of a material having loops at both ends;
a first rubber washer sized to frictionally fit around a golf tee;
a second rubber washer sized to frictionally fit around a golf tee;
wherein the first rubber washer is placed atop a loop on one end of the material and the second rubber washer is placed beneath the loop at the same end of the material.

2) The golf tee tethering device of claim 1, wherein the material is a cable.

3) The golf tee tethering device of claim 1, wherein the material is green.

4) The golf tee tethering device of claim 1, wherein the loops are created by braiding the material into itself.

5) The golf tee tethering device of claim 1, wherein the first rubber washer is thinner than the second rubber washer.

6) A golf tee tethering device, the device comprises:

a first length of a material having loops at both ends;
a second length of material having loops at both ends;
wherein a loop of the first material is formed around the length of the second material and a loop of the second material is formed around a length of the first material;
a first rubber washer sized to frictionally fit around a golf tee;
a second rubber washer sized to frictionally fit around a golf tee;
wherein the first rubber washer is placed atop a loop on one end of the first material and the second rubber washer is placed beneath the loop at the same end of the first material.

7) The golf tee tethering device of claim 6, wherein the first material is a cable.

8) The golf tee tethering device of claim 6, wherein the first material is green.

9) The golf tee tethering device of claim 6, wherein the second material is a cable.

10) The golf tee tethering device of claim 6, wherein the second material is green.

11) The golf tee tethering device of claim 6, wherein the loops are created by braiding the first material and the second material into itself.

12) The golf tee tethering device of claim 6, wherein the first rubber washer is thinner than the second rubber washer.

13) A kit for a golf tee tethering device, the kit comprising:

a first length of material having loops at both ends;
a plurality of first rubber sized to frictionally fit around a golf tee.

14) The kit for a golf tee tethering device of claim 13, further comprising a second plurality of rubber washers sized to frictionally fit around a golf tee.

15) The kit for a golf tee tethering device of claim 13, further comprising at least one golf tee.

16) The kit for a golf tee tethering device of claim 13, further comprising a second length of material having loops at both ends.

17) The kit for a golf tee tethering device of claim 13, wherein the material is green.

18) The kit for a golf tee tethering device of claim 13, wherein the material is cable.
