Methods of Use for a Reusable and Replaceable Pillow Case-Cover Assembly or Cushion Case-Cover Assembly

Methods of use for a decorative reusable and replaceable pillow case-cover assembly or cushion case-cover assembly. Decorative items can come in many forms including works of art, plastic flowers and pillows. What they all have in common is their functional use: that they are visually pleasing to look at. And, conversely, when they are no longer pleasing to look at the user can replace them with another decorative item, then back again as they desire.

Description
RELATED APPLICATION

This application is a continuation-in-part of application Ser. No. 15/096,328 filed Apr. 12, 2016.

SPECIFICATION

This invention is related to pillows and cushions. It is more particularly directed to showcase various methods of use in Parent patent application Ser. No. 15/096,328 pertaining to the user's “desire” to reuse and replace the cover assembly.

The invention provides a novel method of use for reusing and/or replacing the cover assemblies of decorative pillows and/or the cover assemblies of decorative cushions. Decorative items can come in many forms including works of art, plastic flowers and pillows. What they all have in common is their functional use: that they are visually pleasing to look at. And, conversely, when they are no longer pleasing to look at the user can replace them with another decorative item, then back again as they desire.

The assembly/disassembly process is universal; thus, it can be repeated with the same, or different cover assemblies and case assemblies as the user desires

For this invention, the user's desire is the impetus to change the cover assembly including:

I was happy, so I put a smiley face cover assembly on my pillow, but now I'm sad, and the last thing that I want to see is that smiling face; time to change the cover assembly to reflect my mood.

In a practical aspect, having limited resources to redecorate, changing a cover assembly that is about the same size as a hand towel is both cost effective and easy.

Multiple covers can be replaced together, such as the cushioned headboard of a bed, along with the decorative pillows in the room.

In a whimsical aspect, that faux fur cover assembly is so 70's, and it's time to replace it with the latest 80's neon pleather cover assembly, but you never know, in fashion, what comes around go's around, so save the faux fur cover assembly.

In another aspect, you can decorate seasonally, and change/re-change the cover assembly seasonally.

In another aspect, you decorate with different themes (e.g. holidays, sports, etc. . . . ), and change the cover assemblies accordingly, but keep them for reuse.

In another aspect you want a keepsake that grows, say a cover assembly with your grandchild's picture that you can change out over the years, and embarrass them with old cover assemblies as teens.

In another personally fulfilling aspect, replace your old cover assemblies with new ones just before your in-laws come to visit, but tell them that you bought new pillows!

In another practical aspect, there are many professional uses where it is advantageous to have the option to change cover assembly(s) in way that is quick, easy and takes up minimal storage when not in use, such as retail displays, staging companies and movie/TV/theatrical productions.

Another very practical aspect is that the inventor can sell cover assemblies and case assemblies; and kits of cover assemblies and case assemblies (e.g. a cover of the month club) in all of the above aspects and many more.

In another aspect the construction of cover assembly lends itself to be further decorated by the user, as it lays flat when removed from the case assembly.

The case assembly's construction also lends itself to be further decorated by the user, as it lays flat when removed from the cover assembly and the pillow/cushion is removed from case assembly.

In another aspect, the cover assembly can be cleaned per manufacturer guidelines.

In another aspect, the case assembly can be cleaned per manufacturer guidelines.

As a decorative item, and in consideration of maintaining a good condition; when not in use, both the case assembly, and cover assembly should each be rolled for storage, just like the appraisers recommend for fabrics on “Antiques Roadshow”.

As decorative items, it is not possible to list every desire, use or material, but the invention must adhere to the structure as defined in Parent application Ser. No. 15/096,328.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Decoration is a trait that goes back tens of thousands of years, as proven by paleolithic cave paintings found around the world. Decoration is also the most basic form of visual individualism.

And, decoration is both cultural and societal. Once our ancestors started building structures' they decorated them, then often re-decorated them.

Fast forward to today; a person has more options to be an individual then at any time in human history, but the same amount time each day to do them all.

People decorate themselves and their surroundings; and with a set amount of time, they tend to gravitate towards solutions that saves time and other resources. My invention does that for decorative pillows and cushions.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

It is the object of this invention to provide a pillow case-cover assembly or cushion case-cover assembly that allows the user to easily remove, and reuse or replace the pillow cover assembly or the cushion cover assembly.

This gives the user the option to simply change out the pillow cover assembly or cushion cover assembly as they desire, which is a non-physical action based on the user just wanting to change the cover assembly's appearance; leaving the pillow case assembly with pillow intact, or the cushion case assembly with cushion intact.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

One embodiment of the method of use will now be described, with references to the accompanying drawings, in which:

FIG. 1 is a flow diagram of the assembly process where a smiling-face cover assembly and a case assembly are oriented to be fastened together, and that fastening process to create a smiling-face case-cover assembly; and

FIG. 2 shows a flow diagram of the disassembly process where the smiling case-cover assembly is unfastened by removal of the smiling-face cover assembly from the case assembly, leaving the case assembly and the smiling-face cover assembly; and

FIG. 3 shows a flow diagram of the assembly process where a nonsmiling-face cover assembly and a case assembly are oriented to be fastened together, and that fastening process to create a nonsmiling-face case-cover assembly.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

In FIG. 1 the cover assembly 1 with half of the fastening system 3 directly attached oriented for fastening onto case assembly 2 with the complimentary half of the fastening system 4 directly attached. Fastening occurs by engaging the complimentary fastening halves 5 together until cover assembly 1 is completely fastened to the case assembly 2 as directionally denoted by the open head arrows, creating a case-cover assembly 6.

FIG. 2 shows a case-cover assembly 6. Disassembly occurs by unfastening complimentary fastening halves 7 of the cover assembly 1 from the case assembly 2 as directionally denoted by the open head arrows.

FIG. 3 the cover assembly 8 with half of the fastening system 3 directly attached oriented for fastening onto case assembly 2 with the complimentary half of the fastening system 4 directly attached. Fastening occurs by engaging the complimentary fastening halves 5 together until the cover assembly 8 is completely fastened to the case assembly 2 as directionally denoted by the open head arrows, creating a case-cover assembly 9.

In use, the reusable and replaceable pillow case-cover assembly or cushion case-cover assembly looks like a pillow or cushion, and is used in the manner of a decorative pillow or cushion.

The foregoing describes only one preferred embodiment of the method of use and modifications can be made thereto without departing from the scope of the invention.

Claims

1. A method of use of claim 4 of the Parent patent application Ser. No. 15/096,328 comprising:

The visual experience of the invention, which is a novel method of use for reusing and/or replacing the pillow cover assembly or the cushion cover assembly; wherein as a decorative item, the pillow cover assembly's, or the cushion cover assembly's functional use is that they are visually pleasing to look at, and, conversely, when they are no longer visually pleasing to look at the user can replace the pillow cover assembly, or the cushion cover assembly with another respective decorative cover assembly, then back again as they desire.

2. The impetus to change the pillow cover assembly or the cushion cover assembly is based on the user's desire.

3. The assembly/disassembly process is universal; thus, it can be repeated with the same, or a different cover assembly or a case assembly as the user desires.

4. The user can change multiple cover assemblies and case assemblies as they desire.
