The present invention provides an improved winged bra with an additional support. The winged bra includes a pair of cups and a wing member on the distal sides of each cup, with an adhesive member on both the wings and a portion of the cups. The winged bra provides support to the breasts of a user with the additional support on the cups.

Description
FIELD OF INVENTION

The invention relates to a winged bra. More specifically, the present invention provides an improved winged bra with an adhesive material on a portion of the bra cups along with adhesive wings on each cup.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

A conventional winged bra includes adhesive material on wings only. This adhesive material is used for attaching the winged bra with user's torso. This in turn provides support to a user's breasts. One such winged bra is disclosed in Korean Patent No. KR20130000536. However, this device includes support that is not sufficient for application of the bra to the torso, does not provide sufficient support and hold for the user wearing the winged bra after a certain time period, and further provides no adhesive on the distal ends of the interior of the bra's cups.

Another patent, U.S. Pat. No. 7,677,952 to Wooley, relates to a supportive, washable adhesive bra with detachable support structures. This winged bra provides an extended adhesive support on the wings along with substantially the entirety of the cups. This device has several disadvantages however. First, covering the entire cups with adhesive creates sensitivity issues and pain at or near the nipple area, when the cups are removed from the skin. Second, in use, such a device requires application and reapplication of the cups to a user's breasts until the fit on the wearer is acceptable. Not only does this create the aforementioned sensitivity and pain issues, it lessens the adhesive wear of the bra because it is applied, removed and repositioned many more times than necessary due to the tackiness of the cups' adhesive.

Hence, there is need for an improved winged bra that provides not only an additional support to the user's breast but also supports the breasts without causing pain and discomfort. Specifically, the additional support should be directed towards lifting a user's breasts via the edges of the cups of the winged bra and provide stability in a particular position of the cups onto the breasts.

It is apparent now that numerous winged bras are developed in the prior art that are adequate for various purposes. Furthermore, even though these devices may be suitable for the specific purposes to which they address, they would not be suitable for the purposes of the present invention as heretofore described. Thus there is a need for an improved winged bra. Specifically, an improved winged bra providing additional support and ease of application is required.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

An objective of the present invention is to provide an improved version of a winged bra. The winged bra includes a pair of cups, and a wing member attached to each cup. Additionally, an adhesive means is disposed on each cup, alongside with the wing members. The adhesive means covers at least a portion of the wing and a portion of the cup, so as to provide a supplement support to the breast of the wearer for application and enhancing support for a longer duration relative to the prior art. The winged bra can also include conventional underwire or underwires for securing the cups at a position comfortable to the wearer.

Specifically, the present invention provides additional stability to the winged bra by providing a supplementary support to the cups through an adhesive strip configured at distal end of each cup, or by providing an extended, continuous adhesive from the bra's wings to the distal end of each cup. The adhesive strips, or extended wing adhesive, secure the cups at specific positions and provide stability to the breasts of the user wearing the winged bra. The additional adhesive support on the cups makes it easier to create lift without applying and reapplying the wing during application of the wings to the torso of a user. Hence, the additional adhesive support lifts the breast-attached cups and thus provides adjustability to the breasts.

Other objectives and aspects of the invention will become apparent from the following detailed description, taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, which illustrate, by way of example, the features in accordance with embodiments of the invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

The invention relates to an improved winged bra. Specifically, the present invention relates to a winged bra provided with an adhesive material on cups along with adhesive material on the wings. The winged bra includes a pair of cups and a wing member attached to distal sides of each cup. Specifically, the winged bra of the present invention includes an adhesive means disposed on the distal ends of each cup and on a portion of the wings. The adhesive means provides an additional support to the breasts of a user. Moreover, the adhesive means also provides lifting of the breasts.

FIG. 1 illustrates a front view of an improved winged bra. The front view of the winged bra 100 includes a pair of cups 102 where one cup 102a consists of two ends, a proximal end 104a and a distal end 106a. Similarly, the other cup 102b includes two ends a proximal end 104b and a distal end 106b. Moreover, both the cups (102a, 102b) are connected with each other at their proximal ends (104a, 104b). A pair of wings 108 includes one wing 108a is connected to the distal end 106a of the cup 102a. Similarly, the other wing 108b is connected to the distal end 106b of the cup 102b. Both the cups are connected through a fabric running from the periphery of both cups (102a, 102b).

FIG. 2A illustrates a back view of an improved winged bra with no underwire and separate adhesive members. A winged bra 100 includes a pair of cups (102a, 102b) each having a distal end (106a, 106b) and a proximal end (104a, 104b). The pair of cups (102a, 102b) is connected to each other where the proximal end 104a of one cup 102a to the proximal end 104b of the other cup 102b. In one embodiment the proximal ends (104a, 104b) of cups (102a, 102b) are connected with a strip of fabric. In the other embodiment (not illustrated), the proximal end (104a, 104b) of cups (102a, 102b) can be connected with a hook type connection with a hook present on one cup 102a and a receiving end present on the other cup 102b. In the hook arrangement, the connection can be of any metal, preferably steel. The cups (102a, 102b) aforementioned can be padded or a non-padded. Moreover the fabric of the winged bra 100 can be cotton, satin, Lycra, silk or the like.

A winged bra 100 of FIG. 2A further includes a pair of wings (108a, 108b) with one end of each of the wings (108a, 108b) attached to each of the cup (102a, 102b), respectively. Moreover, the pair of wings (108a, 108b) includes two sides. Where one wing 108a includes first side 110a and the second side 112a and the other wing 108b includes first side 110b and the second side 112b. Furthermore, the second side (112a, 112b) of the wings (108a, 108b) is attached to the user's torso. The first side (110a, 110b) of the wings (108a, 108b) is attached the distal end (104a, 104b) of each of the cups (102a, 102b). In a preferred embodiment, the attachment can be achieved by techniques like heat pressing, sewing, sticking with a means of adherent or the like.

An adhesive member (114a, 114b) is disposed on each of the wings (108a, 108b) and the other adhesive member (116a, 116b) is disposed on the distal end (106a, 106b) of each the cup (102a, 102b), respectively. The number of adhesive members (114, 116) also includes protective members (118, 120). The adhesive members (114a, 114b) disposed on the wings (108a, 108b) are covered with protective member (118a, 118b). And the adhesive members (116a, 116b) disposed on the distal ends (106a, 106b) of the cups (102a, 102b) are covered with protective member (120a, 120b). These pairs of protective members (118, 120) can be peeled off when the winged bra 100 is to be used, and can then again be re-applied to the adhesive members when not in use. The pair of protective members (118, 120) aid to keep the bra adhesive lint free when stored. In a preferred embodiment, the adhesive members (114, 116) are separate for both the wings (108a, 108b) and both cups (102a, 102b). The adhesive (114, 116) is reusable and typically medical grade adhesive, so no harm can be caused to the skin of the wearer.

FIG. 2B illustrates a back view of an improved winged bra with no underwire and continuous adhesive members. The winged bra 100 includes a pair of cups 102 where one cup 102a consists of two ends: a distal end 106a and a proximal end 104a. Similarly the other cup 102b includes two ends: a distal end 106b and a proximal end 104b. An adhesive member (114a, 114b) is disposed on each of the wings (108a, 108b). The adhesive member 114a disposed on one of the wings 108a extends solely to the distal end of one of the cups 102a. The other adhesive member 114b is similarly disposed on the other wing 108b and extends solely to the distal end of the other cup 102b, thus they each require single protective member 118a covering one side of adhesive 114a on the cup 102a and other protective member 118b covering the other side of the adhesive 114b on the cup 102b.

In the embodiment of the invention shown in FIG. 2B, the adhesive member 114 disposed on the wings (108a, 108b) extends solely to the distal ends of the cups (102a, 102b). The continuous adhesive member 114 can be fully applied to each wing, or not, such as an adhesive strip or the like (not shown), so long as the adhesive member extends continuously from the wings (108a, 108b) to the distal ends of the cups (102a, 102b). Additionally the protective members 118 mentioned above can be any plastic cover or any covering likewise.

FIG. 3A illustrates a back view of a winged bra with a continuous underwire and separate adhesive members. A winged bra 100 includes a pair of cups (102a, 102b) each having a distal end (106a, 106b) and a proximal end (104a, 104b). An underwire 122 is secured within the lower periphery of the pair of cups (102a, 102b). The pair of cups (102a, 102b) is connected to each other where the proximal end 104a of one cup 102a is connected with the proximal end 104b of the other cup 102b. A winged bra 100 further includes a pair of wings (108a, 108b) with one end of each of the wings (108a, 108b) attached to each of the cup (102a, 102b), respectively. The underwire 122 which is secured at the lower periphery of the winged bra 100 and between the pair of cups (102a, 102b) also lies between the pair of wings (108a, 108b). The underwire 122 mentioned above is a metal wire preferably copper, steel or aluminum or the like, or can be manufactured of a plastic or other synthetic.

Adhesive members (114a, 114b) shown in FIG. 3A are disposed on each of the wings (108a, 108b). The other adhesive members (116a, 116b) are disposed on the distal ends (106a, 106b) of each of the cups (102a, 102b), respectively.

FIG. 3B illustrates a back view of a winged bra with a continuous underwire and continuous adhesive members. A winged bra 100 includes a pair of cups (102a, 102b) each having a distal end (106a, 106b) and a proximal end (104a, 104b). An underwire 122 is secured at the lower periphery of the winged bra 100. Additionally, an underwire 122 lies between the pair of cups (102a, 102b) and the pair of wings (108a, 108b). The underwire mentioned above is a metal wire preferably copper, steel or aluminum or the like, or can be manufactured of a plastic or other synthetic.

The adhesive member 114 disposed on the wings (108a, 108b) extends continuously to the distal ends of the cups (102a, 102b). The continuous adhesive members (114a, 114b) can be substantially fully coated with an adhesive member on the sides (112a and 112b) like that depicted in FIG. 2B, or not substantially coated, as in the form of an adhesive strip or like so long as the adhesive member runs continuously from the wings (108a, 108b) to the cups (102a, 102b).

FIG. 4A illustrates a back view of a winged bra with a separate underwire and separate adhesive members. The winged bra 100 includes a pair of cups 102 where one cup 102a consists of two ends: a distal end 106a and a proximal end 104a, and the other cup 102b includes two ends: a distal end 106b and a proximal end 104b. An underwire 122a and 122b, for each cup 102a and 102b, respectively, is secured at the lower and outer side periphery of the winged bra 100. Additionally, an underwire 122 lies between the pair of cups (102a, 102b) and the pair of wings (108a, 108b). In a preferred embodiment the underwire can be a metal underwire. In another embodiment, the underwire can be made of hard plastic.

An adhesive member (114a, 114b) is disposed on each of the wings (108a, 108b). A separate other adhesive member (116a, 116b) is disposed on the distal end (106a, 106b) of each the cup (102a, 102b) respectively.

FIG. 4B illustrates a back view of a winged bra with a separate underwire and continuous adhesive members. The winged bra 100 includes a pair of cups 102 where one cup 102a consists of two ends a distal end 106a and a proximal end 104a. An underwire 122 is secured at the periphery of the winged bra 100. Additionally, an underwire 122 lies between the pair of cups (102a, 102b) and the pair of wings (108a, 108b). In one embodiment the underwire 122 is separate for both the cups 102. Here, one cup 102a is supported by an underwire 122a and the other cup 102b is supported by another underwire 122b.

The adhesive member 114 disposed on the wings (108a, 108b) extends solely to the distal ends of the cups (102a, 102b). The continuous adhesive member (114a, 114b) runs through both the sides, and can be substantially fully disposed on the wings (108a, 108b), or not such as in the form of an adhesive strip or like so long as the adhesive member runs continuously from the wings to the cups.

FIG. 5A illustrates the method of wearing a winged bra by attaching the winged bra (100) to the torso of a user. The method involves, firstly, removing the protective coverings from the adhesive members. Secondly, positioning each cup (102a, 102b) one side at a time to a breast, leading to the securing the pair of cups on each breast of a user. During this step wings should not be attached until only the positioning of the cups to the breasts is achieved.

FIG. 5B illustrates the method of wearing a winged bra by adjusting the height. The following step involves lifting the bra 100 to a desired height, moreover pressing the hand from a against the side of the breast of a user to make the attachment between the adhesive (116a, 116b) on the distal end (106a, 106b) of each cups (102a, 102b) to the breast while creating a proper lift and cleavage of the breasts.

FIG. 5C illustrates the last step of the method of wearing a winged bra which is to secure the wings. As in previous steps, after the user has adjusted the winged bra 100 to a proper height to ensure breast attachment to the bra cups, cleavage and lift, the user can secure the each of the wings (108a, 108b) in an upward and backward motion. The securing step is achieved with the attachment of adhesive material (118a, 118b) disposed on the each wings (108a, 108b) with the torso of the user for the additional security and comfort. After the winged bra 100 is properly applied, a more secured attachment with higher bust and increased cleavage is achieved.

Although the invention is described above in terms of various exemplary embodiments and implementations, it should be understood that the various features, aspects and functionality described in one or more of the individual embodiments are not limited in their applicability to the particular embodiment with which they are described, but instead can be applied, alone or in various combinations, to one or more of the other embodiments of the invention, whether or not such embodiments are described and whether or not such features are presented as being a part of a described embodiment. Thus the breadth and scope of the present invention should not be limited by any of the above-described exemplary embodiments.

The presence of broadening words and phrases such as “one or more,” “at least,” “but not limited to” or other like phrases in some instances shall not be read to mean that the narrower case is intended or required in instances where such broadening phrases may be absent.

Claims

1. A winged bra, the winged bra comprising:

two cups having proximal and distal ends;
a pair of wings having a first side and a second side, wherein a first wing is attached toward the distal end of said first cup, and a second wing is attached toward the distal end of said second cup;
adhesive means disposed on the first side of each wing; and,
adhesive means disposed on the distal end of said cups.

2. The winged bra according to claim 1, wherein each of the adhesive means are connected as one continuous adhesive means.

3. The winged bra according to claim 1, wherein each of the adhesive means is separated by the distal end of said cup.

4. The winged bra according to claim 1, wherein the said bra further comprises at least one underwire affixed below said cups and between said wings.

5. The winged bra according to claim 4, wherein the said bra comprises two separate underwires.

6. The winged bra according to claim 1, wherein a protective member is placed on said adhesive means.

7. The winged bra according to claim 6, wherein the protective member can be peeled off when the winged bra is in use.

8. The winged bra according to claim 1, wherein the adhesive means disposed on the distal end of said cups provides additional support to the breasts of a user.

9. A bra, the bra comprising:

a pair of cups having distal ends;
at least one underwire disposed within a peripheral portion of the pair of cups;
a pair of wings, wherein a first wing is attached to a first cup and a second wing is attached to a second cup, further wherein underwire lies between the pair of cups and the pair of wings; and,
a pair of adhesive members, wherein a first adhesive member is attached to the distal ends of said pair of cups, and a second adhesive member is attached to the pair of wings.

10. The bra according to claim 9, wherein said underwire is absent.

11. The bra according to claim 9, wherein the winged bra contains more than one underwire.

12. The bra according to claim 9, wherein a protective member is placed on each adhesive member.

13. The bra according to claim 12, wherein the protective member can be peeled off when the winged bra is in use.

14. The bra according to claim 9, wherein the first adhesive member provides additional support to the breasts of a user.

15. A method for wearing a winged bra having two wing members and a pair of cups having distal ends, the method comprising:

positioning each of said pair of cups on each breast of a user;
affixing the pair of cups to the breasts through adhesive means disposed on the said distal ends of each cup;
manipulating said bra to provide the breasts with desired lift and cleavage; and,
securing the winged bra to the torso of a user by way of adhesive means disposed on said wings which are attached to the said distal end of each said cup.
