Adjustable and Convertible Bed Frame to Wall Mount Headboard Assembly with Reusable and Replaceable Cushion Case Cover Assembly
An adjustable and convertible bed frame to wall mount headboard manufactured with half of a resealable fastening system attached that allows for the removal of a corresponding shaped cushion case cover assembly with the complimentary half of the resealable fastening system attached that when fastened together creates a headboard assembly with reusable and replaceable cushion case cover assembly.
Divisional status to application Ser. No. 15/096,328, Apr. 12, 2016
It is the object of this invention to provide an adjustable headboard assembly that can be converted from a bed frame mount to a wall mount and back, or be removed and easily transported to another location; with the attached cushion case cover assembly that allows the user to easily remove, and reuse or replace the cushion case, cushion and cover as claimed in prior application Ser. No. 15/096,328 under a divisional status.
This gives the user the option to mount the headboard assembly to a bed frame and adjust the headboard's height to the top of the mattress; or to mount it to the wall and adjust its location on the wall (saving floor space) then simply change out the cushion case cover as they desire; leaving the headboard assembly with cushion case and cushion intact.
Accordingly, the invention consists of a headboard frame assembly that is convertible from bed frame mount to wall mount and back attached to a headboard panel assembly with half of a resealable fastening system attached, and a correspondingly shaped removable cushion case cover assembly with the complimentary half of the resealable fastening system attached on the back of the case to complete the resealable fastened assembly.
The invention may also include correspondingly shaped top and side rails that mount to the headboard panel assembly via the same resealable fastening system and/or with other removable fasteners common in the furniture industry.
Fastening for the headboard frame assembly to the headboard panel assembly means removable fasteners common in the furniture industry, while fastening for the cushion case cover assembly has been claimed in the prior application.
The back of the cushion case is preferably secured to the front of headboard panel with a form of hook and loop fastening of the kind sold under the trademark VELCRO. In another form a magnetic seal that creates a magnetic bond.
The top and side rails are preferably secured to the front of the headboard panel with a form of hook and loop fastening of the kind sold under the trademark VELCRO, and/or with other removable fasteners common in the furniture industry.
It will be apparent that the headboard assembly, cushion case cover assembly and rails can be manufactured from natural, manmade, or a combination of both materials; and that these materials can include natural, manmade, or a combination of both: designs, scents, fragrances, coatings, layers and components.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTIONThis invention relates to a previous invention for a reusable and replaceable cushion product, and how that product can also be used on furniture.
The invention, as one product, accommodates the two most common types of headboard mounting: bed frame mount and wall mount with convertibility by the user to switch from one mounting type to the other and back again; and the easy disassembly of the cushion case cover assembly and rails from the headboard panel also facilitates transportation of the product to another location for reassembly and mounting as desired.
The invention also gives the user adjustability to position the headboard to the proper height in relation to the mattress height; and mount the wall cleat into wall structure then adjust position the of headboard along a wall without having to remove and reattach the cleat.
The level of convenience with the option to convert this headboard assembly between the two most common types of mounting methods in partnership with the previous claims to the cushion case cover assembly significantly reduces both the out of pocket expense and potential modification/delivery/installation time required to either permanently modify an existing standard headboard or purchase a new headboard and the legal disposal of the old headboard.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONIt is the object of this invention to provide a headboard assembly that allows the user to easily mount it to either a bed frame or a wall, adjust it, reuse or replace the cushion case cover as desired; and disassemble the headboard assembly for easy transportation to another location where it can be reassembled and mounted as desired.
This gives the user the option to change the mounting style of the headboard assembly or just simply change the cushion case cover as they desire; leaving the entire headboard assembly or the assembly without the cushion case cover intact.
Accordingly, the invention consists of a headboard frame assembly attached to a headboard panel assembly manufactured with half of the fastening system attached so that the “previously claimed” cushion case cover assembly manufactured with the complimentary half of the fastening system attached creates a resealable connection; and may also include correspondingly shaped rails with the complimentary fastening system attached and/or removeable fasteners.
Multiple embodiments of the invention will now be described, with references to the accompanying drawings, in which:
In
The headboard panel 9 has half of the fastening system 10 mechanically attached to its front surface.
The correspondingly shaped top 11 and side rails 12 also may utilize also utilize a mechanically attached complimentary fastening system 13 and/or removable fasteners to create a resealable connection.
The cushion case 19 shows the case with correspondingly shaped cushion installed (not shown) and resealable fastening assembly 20 on both the back and sides of the case, and as previously claimed on the divisional application.
The cushion case cover 21 also shows the resealable fastening assembly as previously claimed in the divisional application.
The lower portion of the headboard frame leg is mounted to the bed frame 29 utilizing removable fasteners 30 common in the furniture industry.
The headboard panel assembly is in two pieces connected together by a hinge 43 mounted to the front of the panels 44 that allows the panel assembly to be folded when the wall cleat, headboard frame legs, cushion case assembly and optional front and side rails are removed for transportation to another location. It also has half of the fastening system 45 mechanically attached.
The monolithic cushion case 46 shows the case with correspondingly shaped cushion installed (not shown) and resealable fastening assembly 47 on the back of the case, and as previously claimed on the divisional application.
The cushion case cover 48 also shows the resealable fastening assembly as previously claimed in the divisional application.
In use, the adjustable and convertible bed frame to wall mount headboard assembly with reusable and replaceable cushion case cover assembly looks like a headboard, and is used in the manner of a headboard.
The foregoing describes some preferred embodiments of the invention and modifications can be made thereto without departing from the scope of the invention.
