Toy Building Assembly
A toy building assembly for providing means of creating a variety of structures includes a plurality of elements. Each element comprises a plurality of first slats, which has a plurality of second slats engaged thereto. The first slats and the second slats are layered in a 1:2 ratio thereof to define two sets of second slats. Each set of second slats extends from a respective opposed end of the plurality of first slats to define a respective terminal connector. The sets of second slats have a gap positioned therebetween to define a medial connector. A respective terminal connector of one of the elements is selectively insertable into at least one of a terminal connector and a medial connector of at least one other of the elements. The elements of the plurality of elements thus are interconnectable to create a wide variety of structures.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION (1) Field of the InventionThe disclosure relates to toy building assemblies and more particularly pertains to a new toy building assembly for providing means of creating a variety of structures.
(2) Description of Related Art Including Information Disclosed Under 37 CFR 1.97 and 1.98The prior art relates to toy building assemblies. Prior art toy building assemblies may comprise interlocking rings, cylinders, blocks, logs, slats, curved bars, and stick connectors.
BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONAn embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a plurality of elements. Each element comprises a plurality of first slats, which has a plurality of second slats engaged thereto. The first slats and the second slats are of the same thickness and are layered in a 1:2 ratio thereof to define two sets of second slats.
There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
As best illustrated in
The first slats 14 and the second slats 16 may have the same thickness. As it is the thickness of the second slats 16 that determines spacing between the first slats 14, the second slats 16 need not be of the same thickness as the first slats 14 for the second slats 16 to be complementary to the slots 26 and the channels 28.
The plurality of first slats 14 and the plurality of second slats 16 define a plane 30. Each of the first slats 14 and the second slats 16 has a longitudinal axis 32, which is positioned in the plane 30, and a transverse axis 34 that is perpendicular to the plane 30. The element 12 is substantially rigid and comprises at least one of wood, plastic, bamboo, and metal. Each of the first slats 14 and the second slats 16 has opposing termini 36. The opposing termini 36 may be arcuate, as shown in
A respective terminal connector 20 of one of the elements 12 is selectively insertable into at least one of a terminal connector 20 and a medial connector 24 of at least one other of the elements 12. The elements 12 of the plurality of elements 12 thus are interconnectable to create a wide variety of structures. As shown in
The present invention also anticipates a connecting slat 38, as shown in
Each of the first slats 14 of a respective plurality of first slats 14 are of equivalent length. The first slats 14 of each plurality of elements 12 has a respective length so that the plurality of elements 12 comprises elements 12 that have first slats 14 of a variety of lengths. For example,
The second slats 16 of the plurality of elements 12 are of equivalent length and each has equivalent overlap with adjacent first slats 14. Thus, the plurality of elements 12 comprises elements 12 that have medial connectors 24 of a variety of lengths and terminal connectors 20 of equivalent lengths. For example,
In use, the terminal connectors 20 and medial connectors 24 of the elements 12 are used to interconnect the plurality of elements 12 to create structures.
With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the elements is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
