MOONCLIPS FOR USE IN BRAKE ACTION WEAPONS/FIREARMS

-

An ammunition holder and loader device for shotshells for a shotgun has two adjacent chambers separated by a selected spacing and has a planar body. The body has a pair of cartridge receptacles, each having a resilient retainer element configured to removably retain a rear portion of a shotshell against limited extraction force and to enable removal of the shotshell in response to deliberate force greater than the limited force. The receptacles have opening facing opposite directions.

CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS

This application claims the benefit of U.S. Provisional Patent Application No. 62/923,648, filed on Oct. 21, 2019, entitled “Moonclips for Use in Brake Action Weapons/Firearms”, which is hereby incorporated by reference in its entirety for all that is taught and disclosed therein.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to caliper adapters, shotguns, and more particularly, to caliper adapter inserts.

BACKGROUND AND SUMMARY

Revolver pistols are loaded one bullet at a time. In a high stress situation, such as home protection or timed sporting environment, loading one at a time is time consuming and the user runs a high risk of fumbling.

Break action weapons with more than one barrel (such as a double barrel shotgun) are normally loaded one round at a time. This presents the same problem as with revolvers.

The above disadvantages are addressed by providing an ammunition holder and loader device for shotshells for a shotgun has two adjacent chambers separated by a selected spacing and has a planar body. The body has a pair of cartridge receptacles, each having a resilient retainer element configured to removably retain a rear portion of a shotshell against limited extraction force and to enable removal of the shotshell in response to deliberate force greater than the limited force. The receptacles have opening facing opposite directions.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIGS. 1-7 show the process of the moonclips being used.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF A PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

FIGS. 1 through 4 show revolvers having the issue of loading 1 at a time being alleviated with moonclips.

FIG. 5 shows how a brake action weapon would normally be reloaded, presenting the same problem revolvers have.

FIG. 6 shows a moonclip for use, in this case, the shotgun as illustrated in FIG. 5.

FIG. 7 shows another brake action weapon which could be aided with moonclips.
