Smart Inner Root Device for Golf Clubheads

A smart inner root device utilizing a “tree root technology” is interiorly integrated into a clubhead of a golf club and/or putter to create and maintain balance, harmony, resonance, and supersymmetry. The root device includes a fundamental root member, which comprises a plurality of links interconnected into a symmetrical structure. One or more root members are built in the root device in any desired shape and size to achieve substantially improved balance, high moment of inertia, and symmetry. The root device provides an insertion point for a hosel to connect a golf shaft to the clubhead. During a golf swing, the internal energy resulting from the swing force is evenly drawn up into the shaft through the root device and uniformly distributed at the center of mass, creating a performance edge by minimizing clubhead vibrations, twisting and distortion, thus helping a user achieve significant performance improvement and swing consistency.

Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention generally relates to golf clubs. More specifically, the present invention relates to an inner root device for golf clubheads that produces a substantially improved balance, high moment of inertia, and symmetry, thus helping a user to improve golf swing performance and consistency. The inner root device and the technology thereof apply to all golf clubs such as woods, irons, hybrids, and putters, etc.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

A golf club designed to improve performance is in demand. Golfers at all skill levels strive for control and accuracy. Without good balance, it is generally very difficult for golfers to make consistent gains in performance.

Currently, a wide array of models of golf clubs are available. Many club and/or putter designs, golf clubhead designs, shafts, and grips have been designed to improve performance.

Many manufacturers of golf club may place more weight in the club's toe (the far side of the clubhead, opposite the ball impact surface) or heel (near where the shaft meets the clubhead) to counter a user's fundamental swing problems. Even so, some users have difficulty using drivers and fairway golf clubs well.

Golf club manufacturers have provided various club designs by moving weight toward the edges and the perimeter of the clubhead. Currently available clubs, however, may include designs or constructions that are not easily manufactured and that have various weight distributions, which are not always well balanced. Moreover, changing golf clubs to take advantage of a different weight distribution for better performance can be expensive. Accordingly, there is a need to develop a golf club and associated technology to solve this problem.

The present invention is intended to address problems associated with and/or otherwise improve on conventional devices through an innovative smart inner root device designed to provide balanced weight distribution for improved performance while incorporating advanced features to help the user solve many fundamental golf swing problems and/or mistakes.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention provides a smart inner root device for golf club heads. The smart inner root device utilizes a “tree root technology,” wherein a unique and innovative root structure is integrated into a golf clubhead or putter head to maintain balance, harmony, resonance, and supersymmetry. The root structure includes a symmetrical root member, which comprises a plurality of links and a trunk that is attached between two or more links. A hosel may be positioned on the trunk to provide an insertion point for the clubhead to be attached to a club shaft. The hosel, however, may be separate and/or totally extraneous to the present invention. One or more of the root members are built in the clubhead to form the special tree root structure to achieve balance and high moment of inertia of the clubhead. Further, the inner root device may or may not be of a shape represented by the exterior shape of the golf club.

When a user swings a golf club, the internal energy resulting from the forces created by the swing is efficiently and evenly drawn up into the shaft through the present invention. The clubhead inner structure created by the root device can be weighted and balanced to assist in creating perfect resonance and balance. Additionally, the inner root device helps uniformly distribute the forces at the center of mass and the pressures in the golf clubhead or putter head, creating a performance edge and helping dampen vibrations as well as twisting and distortion of clubhead position caused by any force or impact, thus helping a user achieve significant performance improvements.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is a perspective view of one embodiment of the present invention, wherein a triangular structural root member is connected to a golf shaft at the clubhead hosel.

FIG. 2 is a perspective view of an alternative embodiment of the present invention, wherein two triangular structural root members are interconnected.

FIG. 3 is a perspective view of anther embodiment of the present invention, wherein a plurality of triangular structural root members is interconnected with the clubhead hosel positioned on a trunk.

FIG. 4 is a perspective view of another embodiment of the present invention, wherein the plurality of triangular structural root members is installed in the clubhead of a golf putter.

DETAIL DESCRIPTIONS OF THE INVENTION

All illustrations of the drawings are for the purpose of describing selected versions of the present invention and are not intended to limit the scope of the present invention.

The present invention provides a smart inner root device for golf clubheads. The smart inner root device of the present invention utilizes a technology, which can be called “tree root technology,” within a golf clubhead whereby a specifically designed inner structure maintains balance, harmony, resonance, and supersymmetry in the golf clubhead or putter head. The internal energy resulting from the forces created when swinging a golf club are drawn up into the shaft by the present invention. The inner structure of the present invention can be weighted and balanced to assist in creating perfect resonance and balance. The present invention also helps evenly distribute the forces at the center of mass and the pressures in the golf clubhead or putter head, creating a performance edge and helping dampen vibrations as well as twisting and distortion of clubhead position caused by any force or impact, thus helping a user achieve significant performance improvements.

As can be seen in FIG. 1 to FIG. 4, the smart inner device of the present invention comprises at least one root member 10, a hosel 21, a golf clubhead 30, and a golf shaft 50. More specifically, the smart inner device is integrated into the golf clubhead 30 through the at least one root member 10 which is a structural member interiorly positioned in the golf clubhead 30. The hosel 21 is positioned on the at least one root member, through which the golf clubhead 30 is connected to the golf shaft 50. In some embodiments, the hosel 21, however, may be totally separate and/or extraneous to the present invention. Additionally, the at least one root member 10 comprises a plurality of links 11. The plurality of links 11 is interconnected by terminally attaching alternating ends of the links to form a structural root member of any desired shape. In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the at least one root member 10 comprises a symmetrical geometry, including, but not limited to, an equilateral triangle, a triangle, or any other suitable shape, etc. Further, the inner root device may comprise a symmetrical geometry, including, but not limited to, toroid with a Fibonacci sequence, flower of life and/or similar shapes, screws, pipes, filaments, solid state, springs, and blocks, including any combination thereof, and any suitable shape, etc.

In some embodiments, each of the plurality of links 11 may include hollow sections. The plurality of links 11 may include various cross-sectional shapes, including but not limited to, circular, square, rectangular, and triangular shapes, tubular or cylindrical, and the size of links may depend on the size and design of the structural root member. The plurality of links 11 connected to each other may be of similar or different shapes and may include various shapes at the connection point, including straight, curved, and bent, etc. The plurality of links 11 may be made of any suitable material, including, but not limited to, thermoplastics, memory shape materials, copper, aluminum, nickel, titanium, silver, or any combination of such suitable materials. Further, the plurality of links 11 may be connected to each other by various connecting means, including, but not limited to, adhesives, welding, brazing, soldering, and the like.

As shown in FIG. 4, the at least root member 10 of the inner root device may be interiorly positioned in the golf clubhead 30 inside the shell that defines the shape of the golf clubhead 30, which may also include the hosel 21 that connects the golf clubhead 30 to the shaft 50, as shown in FIG. 1 to FIG. 2. The shape, design, weight, and thickness of the inner root device can vary based on the geometry of the golf clubhead 30. The inner root device may or may not be of a shape represented by the exterior shape of the golf club. Additionally, the design of the inner root device can vary based on the plane (or angle) of the shaft insertion point and the hosel 21 and the dominating shape of the golf clubhead 30.

As can be seen in FIG. 3 to FIG. 4, the at least one root member 10 may include at least one trunk 13 to provide a shaft insertion point that corresponds to the location of the hosel 21. The at least one trunk 13 is distally connected to at least two of the plurality of links 11, and the hosel 21 is positioned on the at least one trunk 13. In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the hosel 13 is positioned on the at least one trunk 13 adjacent the center of the root device. In other embodiments, the at least one trunk 13 is distally positioned on the root device, and the hosel 21 is distally positioned on the at least one trunk 13. In some other embodiments, the hosel 21, however, may be totally separate and/or extraneous to the present invention.

Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed.

Claims

1. A root device interiorly integrated into a golf clubhead for improving swing balance and performance comprising:

at least one root member;
a hosel;
the at least one root member comprising a plurality of links;
the plurality of links being interconnected;
the at least one root member comprising a symmetrical geometry;
the hosel being positioned on the at least one root member;
the at least one root member being interiorly positioned in the golf clubhead; and
the golf clubhead being connected to a golf shaft through the hosel.

2. The root device interiorly integrated into a golf clubhead for improving swing balance and performance as claimed in claim 1, wherein the root device comprising a symmetrical geometry.

3. The root device interiorly integrated into a golf clubhead for improving swing balance and performance as claimed in claim 1, wherein the at least one root member comprising an equilateral triangular geometry.

4. The root device interiorly integrated into a golf clubhead for improving swing balance and performance as claimed in claim 1 comprising:

the at least one root member comprising at least one trunk;
the at least one trunk being distally connected to at least two of the plurality of links; and
the hosel being positioned on the at least one trunk.

5. The root device interiorly integrated into a golf clubhead for improving swing balance and performance as claimed in claim 4, wherein the hosel being positioned on the at least one trunk adjacent the center of the root device.

6. The root device interiorly integrated into a golf clubhead for improving swing balance and performance as claimed in claim 4 comprising:

the at least one trunk being distally positioned on the root device; and
the hosel being distally positioned on the at least one trunk.
