Exercise band positioning and anchoring system

The present invention comprises a novel system for positioning and anchoring exercise bands or exercise cables. It will generally include one or more movable anchoring points. The anchoring points are easily adjusted through a quick release/quick clamping design. The exercise bands or exercise cables attach to the anchoring points easily, quickly and securely. The pole that the anchoring points are secured to will be tension mounted, and generally not require any screwing or bolt to a structure. For slanted ceilings, a mounting point will need to be fixed using screws or bolts, and then the tension mounted pole can be installed.

PRIORITY CLAIM

This application is a continuation of U.S. Patent Application No. 62/704,851, filed May 31, 2020, which is incorporated by reference herein in its entirety.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a novel exercise band or exercise cable positioning and anchoring system. More particularly, the invention relates to the use of quick release, positioning and locking system for anchoring exercise bands.

Further, the invention includes the option to install the system avoiding any screws or bolts through the use of a tension mounted pole.

BACKGROUND

Exercise bands and exercise cables are a popular item to assist with physical training. They generally require a solid mounting point to assist with their use, and in many situations, finding suitable robust mounting points is difficult. Further, to gain the most from their use, the mounting location needs to be placed at varying heights to train different muscle groups.

Some common mounting systems are available, however they have limitations related to the requirement for fixing in place using screws or bolts, or alternatively they use the weight of the user to hold the mount in place. These options either severely limit the range of movement allowed, or result in the permanent damage of the area in which they are being installed.

Tension mounted poles are well known in the fitness and home care markets, and have been proven to be robust and capable of support loads applied by the users. They are designed to be installed so as to not damage the surfaces in contact, and to be easily removed.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention comprises a novel system for positioning and anchoring exercise bands or exercise cables. It will generally include one or more movable anchoring points. The anchoring points are easily adjusted through a quick release/quick clamping design. The exercise bands or exercise cables attach to the anchoring points easily, quickly and securely. The pole that the anchoring points are secured to will be tension mounted, and generally not require any screwing or bolting to a structure. For slanted ceilings, a mounting point will need to be fixed using screws or bolts, and then the tension mounted pole can be installed.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

Some embodiments of the present invention are illustrated as an example and are not limited by the FIGURES of the accompanying drawings, in which like references may indicate similar elements and in which:

FIG. 1 depicts the side perspective of the system, incorporating tension mounted pole (2), exercise band or exercise cable anchoring points (1), base mount (3), ceiling mount (4) and exercise band or exercise cable (5)

Anchoring points (1) are easy to adjust up and down the pole. When locked in place they do not move.

Anchoring points (1) may be removable from the pole (2).

Anchoring points (1) allow the exercise bands or exercise cables (5) to be easily loop around them, and are designed so that when the exercise bands (5) are in use, the exercise bands or exercise cables (5) will not become disengaged from the anchoring points (1).

The tension mounted pole (2) is adjustable in height during installation, to allow for variability in ceilings heights.

The ceiling mount (4) will be held in place using the tension in the pole when used on flat ceilings. The ceiling mount (4) is designed to not damage the ceiling surface.

An alternate ceiling mount (4) will be available for use on slanted ceilings. In this case, the ceiling mount (4) will be screwed and/or bolted to the ceiling. The tension mounted pole (2) will then be attached to the ceiling mount (4) and tension applied so as to secure the base mount (3) to the floor.

The base mount (3) has sufficient contact with the floor surface to provide a secure, stable platform to withstand the forces applied by the exercise bands or exercise cables.

Claims

1) An exercise band or exercise cable positioning and anchoring system that allow easy installation and later removal in most applications, leaving no marks or damage to the location.

2) The ability to adjust the anchoring points to allow a wide range of exercises targeting all muscle groups.

3) Anchoring points that are secure, easy to adjust, and attach the exercise bands or exercise cables to.
