TamaJama Hospital Pajama Gown
The TamaJama Hospital pajama/gown is designed to fit around any medical device going into or alongside of the body, that needs to remain there for extended periods of time. The gown provides comfort, privacy, and ease for patients and provides convenience for doctors, nurses and family members to care for the patient.
Hospital gowns have provided patients with clothing to ensure ease of access to various areas of the patients' body for examination and/or treatment purposes. Various attempts have been made to improve the design of gowns in these areas but are often restricted due to the design of the gown which doesn't allow coverage over certain areas of the body where long term medical devices are placed.
BRIEF SUMMARY OF INVENTIONDescribed herein are hospital gowns or pajamas designed to provide ease and comfort for hospital patients. The gown or pajama is designed to fit over any tube, wire, or medical device on the patient. In one aspect is a hospital gown for a patient comprising a front panel and a back panel, optionally detachable, wherein the gown fits over a PICC line, tube, wire, or any medical device. In one embodiment is a hospital gown wherein the gown is designed to allow the PICC line, tube, wire, or any medical device to fit alongside the body. In another embodiment, is a hospital gown wherein the front panel and back panel attached to each other via a fastener. The TamaJama Hospital Pajama/Gown is intended for hospital patients or any person that requires a PICC line, tube, wire or any kind of medical device that has to stay in or attached to the body for extended periods of time. In one aspect the pajama/gown is designed to fit over any of the said attachments allowing the patient to be clothed on all parts of their body providing comfort and privacy. This style of pajama/gown provides convenience over current hospital gowns particularly in children as the current gown is not able to be worn over medical devices in or on the body that have to stay in place for extended periods of time. Current pediatric hospital gowns open in the back but cannot adequately fit over a PICC line or any medical device in the arm that cannot be removed, because the front and back pieces of the gown cannot be detached. There are many hospital gowns created to provide convenience for patients and those who care for them. Some have flaps on the chest or openings on other areas along the body. But there are no hospital gowns that can completely detach front from back providing full access to all areas of the body. This style gown allows for any long or short term wires, tubes, PICC lines or any other necessary medical devices to run in or along at any point of the body. The TamaJama provides, comfort, and privacy for the patient as well as convenience for the patient and caregiver as they care for their medical needs.
The TamaJama Hospital Pajama/Gown is a piece of clothing that in one embodiment, has two pieces. In another embodiment, the gown is a single piece. In one embodiment, the front and back panels of the pajama/gown are identical in shape and size. In another embodiment, the shape of the gown includes a long sleeve. In another embodiment the gown is a pant style onesie with buttons down the front of the chest. In a further embodiment, the gown has a long sleeve gown style with buttons down the front of the chest and an opening at the bottom of the gown. In a further embodiment, the front and back of the gown are attached together with snaps, ties, buttons, clasps, Velcro, clip, hook and loop type fastener or any type of fastener and are designed to fit together over a patient's body. In yet a further embodiment, the front and back panels are connected to each other to prevent the two panels from permanent separation. In yet another embodiment, the front and back panels are connected by a string.
