JEWELRY STYLE, PENCIL-SHAPED PERFUME OR SANITIZER HOLDER
An effluent dispenser has a canister body with a dispensing end for dispensing the effluent, a holding body having a hollowed interior which the canister is supported interiorly therein and a holder surface that is adorned with jewelry features, including precious stones. The holder has an end cap that conceals the dispensing end of the canister, so that the dispenser has the overall appearance of a piece of jewelry.
The present non-provisional patent application claims the benefit of and priority to U.S. Provisional Patent Application No. 63/064,009, filed Aug. 11, 2020, by Zuri Mesica, and entitled “JEWELRY STYLE, PENCIL-SHAPED PERFUME OR SANITIZER HOLDER,” the entire contents of which are incorporated herein by reference.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTIONThe present invention is generally directed to containers and, more particularly, to a jewelry style, pencil-shaped container capable of holding a perfume or sanitizer dispenser in an obscured, casually in-discernable manner.
Nowadays, the population at large has become exposed and much more aware of the spread of germs and viruses and that they are the main cause of many illnesses. Thus, persons use hand sanitizer in an attempt to curtail the spread of the illness-causing germs. The use of hand sanitizer has become very common to prevent the spread of germs and viruses into a person. This is especially true of persons in the medical community. Such persons are exposed to germs and viruses daily. It is imperative for their hands to remain as germ free as possible, especially when treating patients.
It is common to see nowadays people who carry sanitizer and sometimes perfume dispensers about their body including by dangling them from their belts or having them connected to their pocketbooks and in many other ways. Still, there is a sizable segment of the population which would like to have handy sanitizer and perhaps perfume dispensers, but in a more concealed, unobvious and in-discernable manner.
Hand sanitizer holders are the subject of different patent literature including as reflected in U.S. Pat. Nos. D 846,300; US 2007/0075091; and US 2007/0034645, the contents of which patents and patent applications are incorporated by reference herein.
The instant inventor has been issued U.S. Design Pat. No. D 791,638, directed to a pencil pendant, which is a decorative type of piece of jewelry that can be worn by being held by a necklace or chain about one's body or otherwise attached to the body and appear to be purely decorative in nature.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONAccordingly, it is an object of the present invention to provide a holder for sanitizers and/or perfumes that appears to the casual observer to be a piece of jewelry and which has the overall appearance of the pencil shape jewelry.
It is a further object of the present invention to provide a sanitizer dispenser holder that is easy to use and manufacture and that has a simple physical construction.
The foregoing and other objects of the invention are realized in accordance with preferred embodiments of the invention by an effluent dispenser, comprising: a canister body with a dispensing end for dispensing the effluent; a holding body having a hollowed interior which the canister is supported interiorly therein; and a holder surface that is adorned with jewelry features, including precious stones and the holder having an end cap that conceals the dispensing end of the canister so that the dispenser has the overall appearance of a piece of jewelry.
In other preferred embodiments, the end cap is held to the canister holder by friction or is threadedly securable to the canister holder. The jewelry style effluent dispenser may include a tethering chord extending between the holder and the end cap, configured to allow the end cap to dangle from the holder, when the end cap is removed to expose the dispensing end of the canister body. The effluent is a perfumed fluid or a sanitizing fluid and the like.
A holding chain may be provided by which the dispenser is able to be supported on a wrist or around the neck of a wearer of the dispenser. The canister holder may have a polygonal cross-sectional shape and the end cap may be dimensioned to house within an interior thereof the dispensing end of the canister body. The end cap may have a pointed end that imparts to the dispenser a sharpened pencil shape and look and an outer surface that is decorated with precious stones, e.g., diamonds.
The dispenser may have a lengthwise dimension, with the end cap attached thereto, measuring from 3 to 6 inches. The cross sectional dimension may be in the range from one to two inches. The jewelry style effluent dispenser may be constructed to dispense the effluent as an aerosol fluid.
Other features and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from the following description of the invention which refers to the accompanying drawings.
The bottom of the holder 10 has an end cap 22 which like at the top end cap is preferably decorated, jewelry style, with surface features, e.g., diamond cut gold, precious stones as widely known and practiced in the jewelry field.
As shown in
Further details about the sanitizer/perfume holder are shown in
The canister 30 can be held inside the hollowed interior space of the holder 10 by frictionally engaging the interior wall of the holder. Alternatively, the base of the canister (not shown) may have a rim that is slightly larger in diameter and which connects, through a tongue/groove mechanism, with a similar feature provided on the interior surface wall of the holder 10.
While the invention has been described in relation to an aerosolized quantity of sanitizer liquid or perfume, it is not so limited and is applicable to the dispensing of other liquids, e.g., mouthwash, soap water and the like. Of importance, however, is that the overall package conveys the appearance of a piece of jewelry and thereby helps meet the desire of the carrier of the holder 10 to both have and simultaneously obscure that she is carrying a sanitizer dispenser.
In accordance with other embodiments, the first and second rings 14 and 16 may be threaded to one another (not shown) and the top of the holder 10 may be opened and the sanitizer dispenser inserted from the top so it protrudes at the bottom of the holder, which has a slightly narrower diameter so that the dispenser will not fall out when the end cap 22 is removed.
Although the present invention has been described in relation to particular embodiments thereof, many other variations and modifications and other uses will become apparent to those skilled in the art. It is preferred, therefore, that the present invention be limited not by the specific disclosure herein, but only by the appended claims.
