Cover For Bra Back Strap

Abstract

A bra back strap cover that is an elongated sleeve that encloses a bra back strap on a bra worn by a wearer. The bra back strap cover has a fastening device that is hidden under a flap, so the fastening device does not detract from the bra back strap cover. The flap lays flat between the wearer's skin and the fastening device which provides a layer of protection and comfort. The bra back strap cover is preferably worn with an open back and/or low-cut back article of clothing.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

In modern society, there are articles of clothing made with open back and low-cut back fashions. When an article of clothing is worn, sometimes the bra back strap is visible. Many people think it is not aesthetically pleasing to the eye when the bra back strap is visible. Purchases of open back and low-cut back articles of clothing are sometimes avoided due to the likelihood the bra back strap may be exposed.

There are various types of open back bras and low-cut back bras that are in the marketplace. However, the positioning of the straps and the bra closures on the lower waist and/or the lower back can be uncomfortable. These bras are usually less supportive than full support bras which can pose an issue more often encountered by large busted women.

Since open back bras and low-cut back bras are considered specialty bras, they may be more expensive than regular bras. It may not be feasible for users to buy a large assortment of these specialty bras for open back and low-cut back clothing.

Problems associated with the visibility of the bra back strap have been recorded in prior inventions. For example, U.S. Patent application 20180055098, A Decorative Attachment for a Bra filed Mar. 1, 2018, is a bra arrangement that has various components. It consists of a bra with a cup area and a back strap. The back strap is attached to the rest of the bra with connection points at either end. While the bra arrangement secures the decorative attachments, the cup area and back strap with the connection points and elements are configured to be worn together. The bra arrangement is not versatile because its components can only be worn with its primary bra structures. Other types of bras are not compatible with the bra arrangement because they do not have the structures, the connection points and the connection elements needed for the invention to work. Therefore, there is a need for a bra back strap cover that is not dependent on the components of the bra arrangement.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention does not rely on the fastening device of connection points and connection elements found in the prior invention. The present invention is a bra back strap cover which is a one-piece unit to cover the bra back strap with a fastening device. The bra back strap cover with the use of the fastening device prevents the bra back strap from being exposed when worn with open back and/or low-cut back clothing. The present invention provides a more practical and feasible solution because the bra back strap cover can be affixed to a wearer's existing bra. Specialty bras are not required with the present invention. The bra back strap cover is more likely to be worn in conjunction with a bra that is already owned by the wearer so this increases the chances that the wearer will have a more comfortable and supportive fit.

It is the object of the invention to provide the bra back strap cover that covers a bra strap and preferably worn with an open back and/or a low-cut back article of clothing such as a bra, a dress, a coat, a blouse, a shirt, a jumper, a pantsuit, a tank top, a tub tank or halter top and the like.

Another object of the invention is to provide the bra back strap cover with a fastening device that comprises a zipper, hook, adhesive, button, magnet, snap, link, pin, stitching and combinations thereof. The bra back strap cover further comprises ornamental features attached to the upper face of the bra back strap cover from the group consisting of beads, sequin, patch, ornament, jewelry, ornamental flower, stones, stitching, metal, stone, wood, crystal and the combination thereof. The invention is made with fabric and/or woven material.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The embodiments of the invention are explained in greater detail with references to non-limiting embodiments, drawings and examples already described and will be mentioned in the following description. It is also necessary to mention the drawings are not drawn to scale. The drawings are given to support the purpose and use of the invention.

In the embodiment of FIG. 1, the bra back strap cover 10 is an elongated sleeve with an opening on each opposing side of the bra back strap cover width. The bra back strap cover can be made of a stretch fabric of any material to accommodate different lengths of the bra back straps. However, the bra back strap cover can be made in non-stretch material. The bra back strap cover encloses the bra back strap that is worn with an open back and/or low-cut back article of clothing. In FIG. 1, the bra back strap cover is visible from the opening in the article of clothing.

FIG. 2 shows the bra back strap cover is affixed to a bra 20. In the embodiment of FIG. 6, the back view of the bra back strap cover shows the zipper 50 is under the flap 40. The bra back strap cover has an upper face and a lower face. The zipper is situated parallel to the longitudinal edge of the bra back strap cover. However, the position and length of the zipper is in a non-limiting sense. The flap lays flat against the wearer's skin, so the wearer does not have direct contact with the zipper. The flap provides a layer of protection and comfort for the wearer and keeps the enclosed zipper in place. FIG. 4 shows tunnel edges 30 to illustrate an opening on each opposing side of the bra back strap cover width. The width of the tunnel is wider than the bra back straps so when the zipper is opened the bra back straps can be guided through the tunnel from opposite ends of the bra back strap cover. When the bra back straps are brought together and fastened, the bra back strap cover is used to enclose the bra back straps by closing the zipper.

In the embodiment of FIG. 8, the view of the inside of the bra back strap cover shows an elastic band 60. The elastic band is layered in the interior of the bra back strap cover to provide structure to material that may have little to no structure.

It will be apparent to a person with skill in the art that the bra back strap cover of the invention may be provided using some or all of the disclosed features and components without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention. It will also be apparent to the skilled artisan that the embodiments mentioned above are specific examples of a single broader invention which may have greater scope than any of the singular description taught. There may be many modifications made in the descriptions without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention.

The invention described, herein, and illustrated in the drawings are intended to cover the many changes, modifications, substitutions or equivalents that may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.

Claims

1. A bra back strap cover that is an elongated sleeve that encloses a bra back strap on a bra worn by a wearer comprising;

a. the bra back strap cover having an upper face and lower face, a strap length and a strap width, wherein the bra back strap cover width is wider than the bra back strap so the bra back strap cover can enclose the bra back strap; and

b. wherein the bra back strap cover further comprises of an opening on each opposing side of the cover width forming a tunnel to guide the bra back straps through the bra back strap cover.

2. The bra back strap cover of claim 1, wherein said bra back strap cover is worn with an open back or low-cut back article of clothing.

3. The bra back strap cover of claim 1, wherein said bra back strap cover comprises a zipper hidden under a flap; and the zipper is situated parallel to a longitudinal edge of the bra back strap cover.

4. The bra back strap cover of claim 1, wherein said bra back strap cover further comprises ornamental features attached to the upper face of the bra back strap cover from the group consisting of beads, sequin, patch, ornament, jewelry, ornamental flower, stones, stitching, metal, stone, wood, crystal and the combination thereof.

5. The bra back strap cover of claim 1, wherein said bra back strap cover further comprises fabric and/or woven material.

6. A bra back strap cover that is an elongated sleeve that encloses a bra back strap on a bra worn by a wearer comprising;

a. the bra back strap cover having an upper face and lower face, a strap length and a strap width, wherein the bra back strap cover width is wider than the bra back strap so the bra back strap cover can enclose the bra back strap; and

b. wherein the bra back strap cover further comprises of an opening on each opposing side of the cover width forming a tunnel to guide the bra back straps through the bra back strap cover.

7. The bra back strap cover of claim 6, wherein said bra back strap cover further comprises; an elastic band used as an interior layer to provide structure to the bra back strap cover.

8. The bra back strap cover of claim 6, wherein said bra back strap cover further comprises fastening devices from the group consisting of a zipper, hook, adhesive, button, magnet, snap, link, pin, stitching and combinations thereof.

9. The bra back strap cover of claim 6, wherein said bra back strap cover further comprises fabric and/or woven material.
