BACKGROUND OF THE PRESENT INVENTION Field of Invention

The present invention relates to an air flow adjusting device of air gun, and more particularly to an air flow adjusting device of air gun which can adjust the air flow rate without any tool and has simplified components.

Description of Related Arts

Air guns can be adjusted to achieve the stability of the initial firing speed, such as TW Pat. No. M534812, but the air gun disclosed in this patent must still be adjusted by tools. Therefore, the operation convenience still needs to be improved.

In view of this, an improved air gun is invented, such as TW Pat. No. M591611 (that is, U.S. patent Ser. No. 10/801,805), which can adjust the air flow rate without any tool. However, after the actual commercial operation, it is found that there are two airtight washers 301 (as shown in FIG. 1) on the outside of an adjusting knob 30, which have formed a moderate contact with an inner wall of an air flow channel 101 of a piston seat 10. Therefore, trying to remove a locking seat 20 and a spring 40, turning the adjusting knob 30 when adjusting the air flow rate, the function of positioning can be achieved by the friction between the airtight washers 301 and the inner wall of the air flow channel 101, and the fine-tuning function of rotating and positioning at any time can be achieved without engaging protruding teeth 302 in concave teeth 201. Therefore, the locking seat 20 and the spring 40 can be omitted.

In addition, after the assembly of the locking seat 20 and the spring 40, because of the elastic effect of the spring 40, the adjusting knob 30 is engaged in a basic position before adjustment, which is equal to the air flow rate being set at a basic value, and then change by the adjusting knob 30. However, if the locking seat 20 and the spring 40 are removed, the adjustment knob 30 will be easier to move and the move range will be too large after assembly, especially to the right side of FIG. 1, which will result in no basic position. This will make the adjustment of the air flow rate more inconsistent and incorrect.

The present invention mitigates and/or obviates the aforementioned disadvantages.

SUMMARY OF THE PRESENT INVENTION

The primary objective of the present invention is to provide an air flow adjusting device of air gun which can solve the trouble of conventional tool operation when adjusting the initial firing speed, has simplified components, and ensure that an adjusting knob is still in a basic position, so as to make the air flow rate adjusted easily and correctly.

The air flow adjusting device of air gun of the present invention comprises a piston seat, a piston sleeve and an adjusting knob. The piston seat is internally defined with an air flow channel having an air inlet at a lower part thereof and an elastic plug block corresponding to the air inlet. Both sides of the air flow channel are an air outlet and a closed opening. The piston seat is defined with at least one slot. The piston sleeve has an end head at one end thereof and a rod body at the other end thereof. The rod body is inserted into the air flow channel via the closed opening, and the end head is located outside the closed opening. The rod body has a base and an external threaded portion. The adjusting knob is located in the air flow channel of the piston seat and is defined with an internal threaded portion that is threaded with the external threaded portion of the rod body, so as to make the adjusting knob connected between the rod body of the piston sleeve and the elastic plug block. By rotating the adjusting knob, the total length of the piston sleeve and the adjusting knob can be adjusted, that is, the stroke position of the elastic plug block can be adjusted, so as to adjust the air flow rate. The surface of the adjusting knob is provided with a wiping portion, and the slot of the piston seat is located corresponding to the wiping portion. In addition, the adjusting knob has an inner wall. It is characterized in that: between the base and the external threaded portion is provided a cushion, the external threaded portion of the rod body is threaded with the internal threaded portion of the adjusting knob, and the cushion is abutted against the inner wall of the adjusting knob. Thereby, when the adjusting knob is adjusted to the direction of the base of the rod body, it has a basic position by the friction buffer by abutting the cushion against the inner wall of the adjusting knob, so as to avoid the excessive moving range, thus ensuring the accuracy of adjustment.

Therefore, it can be seen that the present invention has simplified components and can make the moving distance not too large, ensuing the accuracy of adjustment.

The present invention will become more obvious from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, which show, for purpose of illustrations only, the preferred embodiments in accordance with the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

Referring to FIG. 2, an air gun in accordance with the present invention comprises a housing A axially inserted through a gun body B, an air flow adjusting device is inserted through the housing A. The air flow adjusting device C (as shown in FIG. 3) is provided with a piston seat 1, a piston sleeve 2 and an adjusting knob 3.

The piston seat 1 (as shown in FIG. 3) is internally defined with an air flow channel 11 having an air inlet 12 at a lower part thereof and an elastic plug block 13. When the elastic plug block 13 moves to the air inlet 12 (as shown in FIGS. 4, 6 and 7), the function of air separation valve is formed to regulate the flow direction and the rate of the air flow. Both sides of the air flow channel 11 are an air outlet 14 and a closed opening 15. The piston seat 1 is defined with at least one slot 16 in communication with the air flow channel 11 (FIGS. 3 and 5 take the two slots as an example). In addition, the piston seat 1 is an inner side 17 inside the air flow channel 11 (as shown in FIG. 4).

The piston sleeve 2 (as shown in FIG. 3) has an end head 21 at one end thereof and a rod body 22 at the other end thereof. The rod body 22 is inserted into the air flow channel 11 via the closed opening 15, and the end head 21 is located outside the closed opening 15 (as shown in FIG. 4). The rod body 22 has a base 221 and an external threaded portion 222. The base 221 is provided with a first airtight washer 223 abutted against the inner side 17 of the air flow channel 11. Between the base 221 and the external threaded portion 222 is provided a cushion 224 that is a plastic product with proper elasticity.

The adjusting knob 3 (as shown in FIGS. 3 and 4) is located in the air flow channel 11 of the piston seat 1 and is defined with an internal threaded portion 31. The external threaded portion 222 of the rod body 22 is threaded with the internal threaded portion 31 of the adjusting knob 3 (as shown in FIG. 4), so as to make the adjusting knob 3 connected between the rod body 22 of the piston sleeve 2 and the elastic plug block 13. Two second airtight washers 34 are connected to the outside of the adjusting knob 3 and are abutted against the inner side 17 of the air flow channel 11. When rotating the adjusting knob 3, the internal threaded portion 31 of the adjusting knob 3 is spirally moved to the external threaded portion 222 of the rod body 22, which can adjust the total length of the piston sleeve 2 and the adjusting knob 3, that is, the stroke position of the elastic plug block 13 can be adjusted, so as to adjust the air flow rate. If the total length becomes longer (please compare FIGS. 3 and 7), after the air flow enters the piston seat 1 from the inlet hole 12, the distance at which the elastic plug block 13 moves in the air flow channel 11 is shortened, so that the air flow through the air flow channel 11 will be less, and the initial speed will be slower. On the contrary, if the total length becomes shorter (please compare FIGS. 3 and 6), after the air flow enters the piston seat 1 from the inlet hole 12, the distance at which the elastic plug block 13 moves in the air flow channel 11 is increased, so that there will be more air flow through the air flow channel 11, and the initial speed will become faster.

In addition, since the second airtight washers 34 are plastic products with proper elasticity, they has a certain friction resistance to the inner side 17 of the air flow channel 11, so that the adjustment knob 3 can achieve the function of rotating and positioning at any time, and even the fine-tuning function. The surface of the adjusting knob 31 is provided with a wiping portion 313, and the slot 16 of the piston seat 1 can correspond to the wiping portion 313 (as shown in FIGS. 3 and 5), so that the adjusting knob 31 can be rotated only by operating the wiping portion 313 by the finger via the slot 16. Moreover, the adjusting knob 3 has an inner wall 35 (as shown in FIG. 3) that is located on a rear side of the internal threaded portion 31. When the internal threaded portion 31 of the adjusting knob 3 is spirally moved to the external threaded portion 222 of the rod body 22, the cushion 224 of the rod body 22 will be abutted against the inner wall 35 of the adjusting knob 3 (as shown in FIGS. 4 and 6), at that time, the operation will be slightly obstructed. This means that the adjusting knob 3 has the basic position, so that the operator will not make the moving distance too large and know that the adjusted initial speed has reached a fast position, thus improving the accuracy of adjustment.

By the above-mentioned arrangements, the initial firing speed is determined by the air flow rate. When adjusting the initial firing speed (that is, when adjusting the air flow rate), the adjusting knob 3 can be rotated only by operating the wiping portion 313 by the finger via the slot 16 (as shown in FIG. 5). After the adjusting knob 3 is rotated, the total length of the piston sleeve 2 and the adjusting knob 3 is changed (as shown in FIGS. 4, 6 and 7), that is, the stroke position of the elastic plug block 13 relative to the air inlet 12 in the air flow channel 11 is changed, at that time, the function of adjusting the air flow rate can be achieved. Since the adjusting knob 3 can be rotated and positioned at any time, it can be fine-tuned. In addition, the cushion 224 of the rod body 22 can be abutted against the inner wall 35 of the adjusting knob 3 (as shown in FIGS. 4 and 6), which makes the adjusting knob 3 has the basic position, so that the operator will not make the moving distance too large, thus improving the accuracy of adjustment.

According to the above-mentioned structure, it can be seen that the present invention can make the moving distance not too large only by disposing the cushion 224, ensuing the accuracy, and is suitable for large toy guns or toy pistols.

While we have shown and described various embodiments in accordance with the present invention, it should be clear to those skilled in the art that further embodiments may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.
