TECHNICAL FIELD

The present disclosure relates to garments. More particularly, a two sizes in one, for a garment to accommodate a disproportionate figure.

BACKGROUND

Throughout, the countless centuries a significant amount of effort has been expended towards fashion design details, styles, and ornamental embodiments of clothing pre-dating back to Ancient time period. Fast forward to present time, the apparel industry dominates a large share of our global economy, and it steadily increases with the vast production of diverse fashion apparel comprising of clothing, undergarments, headwear, footwear, and accessories created to adorn the bodies of the ever-growing global population. Despite the fashion industries decades of innovations and all that it encompasses continues to evolve, majority of the fashion designers focus remain on creating clothing for their intended wearer who are proportionate figured individuals.

One of the great, centuries old, innovative contributions to the clothing industry around the world is the various single sizes, developed for ail clothing designs based on the average body-dimensions within a continent, such as North America, Europe, Australia, and Asia. For instance, within North America, the U.S. standard size chart for men and women's clothing are compiled from the average measurements taken from three areas of the body; women; bust, waist, hips; men; chest, waist, and hip. Based on these measurements the traditional various single sizes for men's and women's apparel in the U.S. are formed, along with a clothing sizing system consisting of numbers, letters, or a combination of both. For example, women's apparel sizes may range from (0-24) or (XXS-XL) or (1XL-4XL). Men's apparel sizes may range from (28-50) or (XS-XXL) or (1XL-5XL). There may be some slight deviations in the clothing size dimensions depending on the manufacturer. China's men and women's standard sizing chart tends to run smaller compared to the U.S. due to their smaller framed body-dimensions, their measurements ate taken from two areas of the body.

The shape and form of high-end fashion designer clothing, and name brand apparel are usually created with the small framed, proportionate figure body-dimensions in mind. Likewise, mass market fashion designer's emphasis is also on the same intended small framed, proportionate figured wearer. But they are starting to incorporate and manufacture more designs structured for the larger framed, big, and tall individuals, needless to say they are still fashioned to fit a proportionate figure regardless of size. Nevertheless, clothing designed for the larger proportionate body-dimensions are usually homely looking, unflattering apparel, with u high price tag. Smaller sizes from 0-12 usually carry a lower retail price compared to sizes 14 on up which is considered “Plus Size”. Therefore, in addition to the disproportionate figured person having no alternative size option in clothing to accommodate their figure, they may also pay more. Consequently, creating an emotional, unpleasant, feeling excluded, and frustrating shopping experience for the disproportionate figured individual.

There have been other approaches to aid in providing alternative solutions permitting clothing to accommodate areas of the figure that may Ire slightly a few incites smaller or larger than the average body-dimensions provided for the wearers traditional single size garment, for example, functional designs such as accordion pleats, vents or splits, and slits aid in providing leeway that allows ease of movement within a garment when walking or sitting. Other alternatives are adjustable closure components that enables expanding or reducing specific areas within the garment such as buttons, hooks, snap fasteners, drawstrings, zippers, elastic bands Velcro™, belts, and built in adjustable belts, just to name a few.

Although, there has been an uptick in clothing designed to cater to the larger figure body-dimensions, there still remains a lack in design and style options within the fashion industry. Regardless, of the range of alternative solutions provided with the available functional garment designs and adjustable closure components. Neither offer enough relief for a garment to accommodate an individual with a disproportionate figure, whose body-dimension measurements do not fall within the average standard size dimensions created for the traditional single sizes, and desiring two different sizes

No matter how lengthy the history of the fashion industry timeline, and the multitudes of innovative lash ion design embodiments implemented, a void still remains within it tor the disproportionate figured individual.

It is within this context that the embodiments arise.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

For simplicity of details, well known techniques and clothing process operations of common clothing industry have not been described in detail in order not to unnecessarily obscure the embodiments as they are known to those with skill in the art.

The present disclosure will now be described more fully hereinafter, with reference to the accompanying illustrations, in which the embodiments and variations thereof described are merely exemplary, and are not meant to limit the scope of the disclosure to the details of the particular arrangement shown since the disclosure is capable of other embodiments. It can be appreciated the present disclosure may be embodied in an array of clothing designs, rather, these embodiments are given so that this disclosure will provide a thorough understanding, and fully convey the scope of the disclosure to those skilled in the art. To the contrary, the disclosure is intended to cover all variations, alternatives, adjustments, changes, modifications, combinations, equivalents, configurations, techniques, and processes that occur and are included within the spirit and scope of the disclosure as defined by the claims. With reference to the figures, numerical designation has been given for each element of the present disclosure, and particularly with reference to the embodiments of the present disclosure are set forth below.

The innovative concept of the present disclosure allows for a garment to accommodate an individual with a disproportionate figure that desires two different sizes. It alleviates having an oversized, baggy, boxy, tight or misshapen look in clothing when worn due to the disproportionate body-dimensions, and it may provide a shapely and or uniform appearance for an intended wearer. It may also be constructed within and for an array of clothing designs, garment categories, and uniform attire industries for all genders.

Although, traditional various single size garments can be manufactured using different loose flowing and knitted fabric, they are not always suitable in many cases for those with a disproportionate figure adorning a garment based on the standard average body-dimension measurements. Such as, an individual with disproportionate body-dimensions having upper arm measurements that are greater in size compared to the average body-dimensions used for clothing sizes, would commonly have an issue with upper garments having sleeves to fit their oversized upper arms. For instance, the traditional various single size garment made of loose flowing or knitted fabric whether, it is a top or dress having sleeves would tit the disproportionately oversized arms form lilting which would make the oversized anus appear more pronounced. But the body portion of the top or dress would be loose or close to baggy regardless of the individuals commonly worn traditional single size e.g., medium (M), or large (L), etc. The wearer may not be pleased with the pronounced effect of their oversized upper arms the garment fabric creates, but having to increase the size of the garment would cause the body portion that is loose or close to baggy fitting of their traditional single size to be oversized with the size increase, which would then make the overall appearance for the wearer of the garment when worn unshapely.

A traditional various single size garment made of woven fabric having no stretch in the sleeves would pose more of a challenge for tire disproportionately oversized upper arms. For example, for a woman whose traditional single size is a size medium (M), based on the U.S. average body-dimensions. but their upper arms have the measurements that would accommodate a size extra-large (XL). The bust and waist size medium (M) hotly portion of the woven fabric garment mentioned would fit loose, but the upper arm sleeve portions would be tight, possibly cutting into the skin of the upper arms, or the individual may not even be able to completely fit on the upper arm sleeve portions causing the wearer to increase their size choice to an extra-large (XL) to accommodate their size extra-large (XL) upper arms, the increase in size would then put the wearer into the “Plus Size” category. This would furthermore, create several situations being: 1. The sleeves would be loose and comfortable. 2. The body portion of the woven fabric garment in the traditional single size extra-large (XL) would now be baggy or oversized giving the wearer an unflattering boxy shape in the bust and waist area, 3. The wearer has to pay extra for the “Plus Size” category price increase, 4. The garment body portion oversized, and baggy look due to tire excess material within the body portion would warrant altering to remove the excess fabric in order to achieve a shapely, uniform, and flattering appearance which is an additional expense the wearer incurs.

A drawback, within the U.S. standard body-dimension measurements is that it does not include measuring the upper arms and instead assumes the U.S. average population has proportionate upper arms therefore, not including it into the body-dimensions measurements as would tailor's do.

FIG. 1 illustrates a front view of the two sizes in one 100, for a garment according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. A two sizes in one 100, for a garment in this example wherein, two side portions comprising of sleeves 103 and 104 are large/wide in size, with a body portion 105 small/narrow of a different size, would provide the individual wearer in the scenario given previously a garment to accommodate the two different sized areas of their figure being medium (M) and extra/large (XL). The individual wearer may now have a shapely and uniform appearance without needing any alternations. The two sizes in one 100, for a garment would also provide inclusive pricing with the plus size portion therefore, both providing a savings and eliminating an expense for the intended wearer.

In reverse, a similar situation would occur with a wearer whose traditional single size is a double extra-large (XXL or 2XL) based on their bust/chest and waist measurements according to the average body-dimensions within the U.S., but has size large (L) upper arm dimensions which again is not included in the body-dimensions measurements for U.S. garments. The issue for this wearer with a traditional single size double extra-large (XXL or 2XL) body portion having size large (L) upper arms would be: 1. Bust/chest and waist area of the garment is loose and comfortable, 2. The sleeves are baggy and oversized giving the wearer an unflattering appearance in the upper arms, 3. The wearer has to pay extra for the “Plus Size” category for the double extra-large (XXL or 2XL) garment, 4. The upper garment sleeves oversized and baggy look due to the excess material would warrant altering to remove the excess fabric in order to achieve a shapely, and uniform appearance which is an additional expense the wearer incurs for alterations.

FIG. 2 Illustrates a from view of the two sizes in one 200, for a garment according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. A two sizes in one 200, for a garment in this example wherein, the two side portions comprising of sleeves 206 and 207 is small/narrow in size and the body portion 208 is large/wide of a different second size would provide the individual wearer in the example given above a garment to accommodate the two different sized areas of their figure being large (L) and double extra-large (XXL or 2XL). Again, the individual wearer may now have a shapely and uniform appearance without needing any alternations. The two sizes in one 200, for a garment would also offer inclusive pricing with the plus size portion therefore, both providing a savings and eliminating an expense for the intended wearer.

In addition, the tag or labeling designed to identify the two sizes in one, for a garment thereof described are merely exemplary, and are not meant to limit the options. The two sizes in one, two sizes label combination may also be available for other age groups such as “Juniors”, for both males and females if or when in high demand. The size listed before the slash (/), e.g. (M/) or chosen symbol and arrangement that may be used in the two sizes in one 100 and 200, for a garment label format may represent the size for the two side portions comprising of sleeves 103, 104, 206, 207. The size listed after the slash (/), e.g. (/XL) or chosen symbol and arrangement that may be used may represent the size for the body portion 105 and 208 therefore, representing the two different sizes combination for the garment label of the two sizes in one 100 and 200, for a garment.

Also, the two sizes in one, for a garment described may be without a general size and may alternatively be tailored or hand-made on an individual basis specifically tailored to an individual's disproportionate body dimensions.

The two sizes in one 100 and 200, for a garment may be manufactured in a conventional manner with conventional woven fabric materials, such as, and for example, linen, denim, cotton twill, satin, chiffon, etc. The two sizes in one 100 and 200, for a garment may also be manufactured in a conventional manner with conventional knitted fabric materials, such as, and for example; lace, mesh, wool, cotton, silk, fleece, jersey, velvet, nylon, polyester, and amongst numerous other knit fabric and knit blend fabrics such as with Lycra™ a.k.a spandex. In accordance with the embodiment, the two sizes in one 100 and 200. for a garment may be manufactured on a loom garment weaving machine using the garment weaving process and or circular garment knitting machine using the garment knitting process. Loom weaving and circular knitting machine process are well known for those skilled in the art can appreciate the manner in which the two sizes in one 100 and 200, for a garment of the present disclosure may be manufactured using such machines and processes, and are not limited to such machines and processes.

Those skilled in the art can appreciate the present disclosure is not limited with respect to any particular fabric, fabric blends, fabric combinations, garment design, pattern, and configuration, along with stitch type and technique that may be used to unite FIG. 1 two side portions comprising of sleeves 103 and 104 with the body portion 105, and unite FIG. 2 two side portions comprising of sleeves 206 and 207 with the body portion 208 of the two sizes in one 100 and 200, for a garment shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 during the garment manufacture process.

FIG. 1 illustrates the two sizes in one 100, for a garment two side portions comprising of sleeves 103 and 104 large/wide in size, with a body portion 105 small-narrow of a different second size. Those skilled in the art can appreciate the sleeved portions 103 and 104 and body portion 105 are not limited to any particular style, form, shape, length, combinations, garment embodiments, and garment patterns of the two sizes in one 100, for a garment manufacture process.

FIG. 2 illustrates another embodiment of the present disclosure wherein, the two side portions comprising of sleeves 206 and 207 small/narrow in size, with a body portion 208 large/wide of a different second size. Those skilled in the art can appreciate the sleeved portions 206 and 207 and body portion 208 are not limited to any particular style, form, shape, length, combinations, garment embodiments, and garment patterns of the two sizes in one 200, for a garment manufacture process.

An embodiment of a two sizes in one 100 and 200, for a garment upper body garment such as a shirt or blouse having two side portions comprising of sleeves 103, 104, 206, 207 may be provided in an array of styles, shapes, forms, and lengths such as; short sleeves. ¾ sleeves, long sleeves, a single sleeve, cap sleeves, raglan sleeves, bell sleeves, petal sleeves, amongst many other various sleeve types and lengths having u different size that may be united to the body portion 105 and 208 having a different second size for an upper body garment.
