Description
TECHNICAL FIELD

The present disclosure relates generally to a holder for an electronic vaping device.

BACKGROUND

Vaping devices (also referred to as e-cigarettes or vaporizers) are battery-powered devices that are capable of delivering vapor that includes nicotine or another active ingredient. Typically, a vaping device includes a heating element, called an atomizer, powered by a lithium-ion battery that vaporizes an aqueous solution of glycerol or propylene glycol, flavouring, and nicotine. The vapor, which appears similar to a cloud of smoke, is provided to the user through a mouthpiece. Most vaping devices are handheld and about the size of a large pen; hence, these vaping devices are referred to as vape pens.

Although small and compact, vaping devices such as vape pens are somewhat fragile and can be damaged. For instance, dropping a vape pen can cause it to break. Likewise, vaping devices are susceptible to exposure to the environment. For instance, in the winter the liquid used by the device can freeze if exposed to the cold. To protect against damage, vaping devices must be carefully carried.

SUMMARY

A holder for a vaping device is disclosed herein. The holder comprises a housing body having an operative top end and an operative bottom end. The housing body is configured to have a shape complementary to the vaping device for snugly accommodating the vaping device therein. The housing body is closed at the operative bottom end and can be opened at the operative top end. A foldable cover is configured at and extends from the operative top end of the housing body for closing the open end of the housing body. Fastening means are configured on the foldable cover and the operative top end of the housing body for fastening the foldable cover to the operative top end of the housing body. The fastening means can include hook-and-loop fasteners, a snap button, a magnet, or a string, for example. The housing body can include an outer aesthetic layer and an inner cushion layer. Advantageously, the housing body protects the vaping device from shock due to accidental falls while also keeping the vaping device insulated from the surrounding temperatures.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF EXAMPLE EMBODIMENTS

Example embodiments of the disclosure now will be described more fully hereinafter with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which example embodiments are shown. The concepts discussed herein may, however, be embodied in many different forms and should not be construed as limited to the example embodiments set forth herein; rather, these embodiments are provided so that this disclosure will be thorough and complete, and will fully convey the scope to those of ordinary skill in the art. Like numbers refer to like elements but not necessarily the same or identical elements throughout.

Referring to FIG. 1, a schematic view of a holder 100 for vaping devices, according to a first embodiment of the present disclosure, is illustrated. As seen in FIG. 1, the holder 100 comprises a housing body 102 and a foldable cover 104 extending from the housing body 102. The housing body 102 is the part of the holder 100 that snugly accommodates the vaping device therein. In accordance with the instant embodiment, the housing body 102 shown to have an elongate profile for accommodating a cylindrically shaped vaping device such as a vaping pen therein. However, it is to be noted that the housing body 102 may have another shape complementary to the shape of the vaping device being accommodated therein, without departing from the spirit and scope of the present disclosure.

The housing body 102 has an operative top end 102A and an operative bottom end 102B. The operative top end 102A of the housing body 102 is an open end, while the operative bottom end 102B is a closed end. The foldable cover 104 integrally extends from the operative top end 102A of the housing body 102 and is configured to fold over and cover the open end of the housing body 102.

Referring to FIG. 2, a perspective view of vaping device 106 being placed inside the holder 100, according to a first embodiment of the present disclosure, is illustrated. As seen in FIG. 2, the vaping device 106 is shown to have a cylindrical shape, and the housing body 102 defines an interior space that allows the vaping device 106 to be snugly accommodated inside the interior space of the housing body 102.

Referring to FIG. 3, a perspective view of the holder 100 depicting a closed configuration of the holder 100, according to a first embodiment of the present disclosure, is illustrated. As seen in FIG. 3, the holder 100 comprises fastener 108. The fastener 108 is configured at the operative top end 102A of the housing body 102 and the operative inner surface of the foldable cover 104. In accordance with one exemplary embodiment, the fastener 108 is hook and loop straps. In other embodiment, the fastener 108 may include push buttons, snap buttons, magnets, or string, for example.

More specifically, as seen in FIG. 3, the housing body 102 includes a front panel 102C and a rear panel 102D. The front panel 102C and the rear panel 102D, in accordance with one embodiment, may be stitched together to from the housing body 102. At the operative top end of the housing body 102, the foldable cover 104 may extend from the rear panel 102D, in one exemplary embodiment. Similarly, a first fastener element 108A of the fastener 108 may be configured at the operative top end 102A of the housing body 102 at the front panel 102C thereof. Another complementary fastener element 108B of the fastener 108 may be configured on the foldable cover 104 that folds over the open end of the housing body 102 and fastens to the fastener 108 on the front panel 102C. In the instant embodiment, the fastener elements 108A, 108B are hook and loop straps.

Referring to FIG. 4, another perspective view of the holder depicting the different layers defining the housing body 102 of the holder 100, according to a first embodiment of the present disclosure, is illustrated. As seen in FIG. 4, the housing body 102 comprises an outer aesthetic layer 110 and an inner cushion layer 112. The outer aesthetic layer 110 may be made of one of a fabric material, a plastic material, a metallic material, and a wooden material. Any of the aforementioned materials may be provided with an aesthetic appearance that suits the personality of the user. For example, a patriotic user may have the American flag configured on the outer aesthetic layer 110. In another example, the outer aesthetic layer 110 may have cannabis leaves configured thereon to indicate that the vaping device housed within the holder contains cannabis extracts to be vaped.

The inner cushion layer 112 is provided adjacent to the outer aesthetic layer 110. In one embodiment, the inner cushion layer 112 may be made of one of neoprene synthetic rubber, polystyrene foam, polypropylene foam, polyethylene foam, and polyurethane foam. In a preferred embodiment, the inner cushion layer 112 may be made of neoprene synthetic rubber.

An advantageous aspect of providing the inner cushion layer 112 is that if the holder 100 accidentally falls down with the vaping device contained therein, the shock associated with the fall is absorbed by the inner cushion layer 112, thereby keeping the vaping device undamaged inside the holder 100.

Another advantageous aspect of the inner cushion layer 112 is that the inner cushion layer 112 also insulates the vaping devices from the surrounding low temperatures. When the vaping device is well insulated, the vaping liquid retains the liquid state inside the vaping device and does not freeze.

An advantageous aspect of using plastic, metal, or wooden material for manufacturing the outer aesthetic layer 110 is that the rigidity of the aforementioned materials provides additional structural integrity to the holder 100. A hard outer layer and a cushioned inner layer of the housing body 102 ensures that the vaping device is securely placed inside the holder and safe from damage in case of accidental falls.

Although the features, functions, components, and parts have been described herein in accordance with the teachings of the present disclosure, the scope of coverage of this patent is not limited thereto. On the contrary, this patent covers all embodiments of the teachings of the disclosure that fairly fall within the scope of permissible equivalents.

Many modifications and other implementations of the disclosure set forth herein will be apparent having the benefit of the teachings presented in the foregoing descriptions and the associated drawings. Therefore, it is to be understood that the disclosure is not to be limited to the specific implementations disclosed and that modifications and other implementations are intended to be included within the scope of the appended claims. Although specific terms are employed herein, they are used in a generic and descriptive sense only and not for purposes of limitation.
