Description
TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION

This invention is directed to the industrial sector of headgear and accessories for personal care. Likewise, this application refers to a multi-functional folding hat to be used in different climates and is configured to be folded by means of a series of wrapping type folds and to be stored in an adjustable bag for easy transportation.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

As it is well known in the state of the art, conventional hats to protect the wearer from sun, rain, dust, snow, etc., are substantially rigid hats to maintain a certain shape according to the wearer's taste. In addition, depending on the climate in which they are to be used, hats are made of different materials to meet the wearer's needs. In this sense, the transport of the latest generation of hats is a problem since they have to be taken care of several times in order not to crush them and make them lose their shape or become deformed. Another problem is the generation of fungus or bad odors due to continuous use, since commonly hats that are made of fine materials cannot be easily washed, so the user prefers not to wash them.

On the other hand, we have tried to design folding hats, which are commonly one-time use or very short life, since they are made of very low quality materials or to be used only once and discarded, such as fabric, cardboard, plastic, paper, etc.

In accordance with the above, we have for example the patent document JPH0482906A, which discloses a folding hat by means of a fold in the shape of eight as the lenticulars for car; however, this type of hat is of short useful life when being manufactured of economic material completely flexible and malleable, such as fabric, or plastic, and where the support ring is made of a type of steel that deforms easily, so that if the hat is kept folded for a long time the hat does not return to its original form. Also, this type of hat does not allow the use of additional accessories.

Similarly, you have the documents AU2015100610A4 and CN204217998U, which disclose collapsible hats made of semi-rigid materials, such as cardboard or the like, that do not have metal reinforcement rings, which, in their unused form have the shape of a semi-rigid preform that is also difficult to store and transport, since if they are not properly cared for they can become deformed. Likewise, this type of hat cannot get wet since it would lose its shape. Also, because they are made of low-cost materials due to the fact that they are short wearing hats, they do not allow the use of accessories.

Therefore, there is a need for a multifunctional folding hat to be used in different climates, and which is configured to fold by a series of wrapping type folds and be stored in an adjustable bag for easy transportation and to be reusable indefinitely without being deformed.

PURPOSE OF THE INVENTION

It is therefore a purpose of the present invention to provide a multifunctional folding hat which can be folded in such a way that it does not mistreat the material from which it is made, so that it can be manufactured from fine materials such as leather, synthetics and fabrics.

Another purpose of the invention is to provide a multi-functional folding hat that can be easily stored and transported without deformation.

An additional purpose of the present invention is to provide a multi-functional folding hat which can be reused indefinitely in different climates and/or activities.

An additional purpose of the present invention is to provide a multifunctional folding hat which avoids the generation of fungi and bad odor by its continuous use.

Still another purpose of the invention is to provide a multifunctional folding hat.

Still another purpose of the present invention is to provide a multifunctional folding hat which allows the use of multiple removable accessories independently or simultaneously.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

These and other purposes are reached through of a multifunctional folding hat, which is generally made up of a cup section made of a flexible material, configured to fit the user's head; such cup section comprises at its inner bottom a peripheral elastic band configured to fit the user's head; a wing or flap section made of a substantially semi-rigid malleable material, which surrounds the cup section and is integrally attached to it; the brim section includes at its outer end a flexible metal ring integrated with it, which allows the folding or bending of the hat; a peripheral flange surrounding a substantially oval opening formed by the union of the brim section with the crown section, which is configured for the user to wear the hat, where the peripheral flange is configured to attach additional accessories for the protection of the user; and a pair of reinforced through holes arranged opposite the sides of said peripheral brim; where said holes are configured to receive an additional accessory for the protection of the wearer; where the inside of the crown section and the peripheral elastic band have a fungicide and antibacterial coating that prevents the generation of fungus and bad odor; and where said hat is configured to fold by means of a plurality of wrapping type folds, to be stored in a reduced space without deforming.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

With reference to FIGS. 1-4 the preferred mode of the multi-functional folding hat of the present invention is shown, generally numbered in 1000. The multifunctional folding hat 1000 is generally comprised of a cup section 1100, which has a shape designed or configured to fit a user's head; a brim or flap section 1200, and different accessories for the protection of a user.

The 1100 cup section is made of a flexible material such as natural or synthetic textiles, chamois, leather, etc., so as not to interfere with the folding of the hat. This crown section has a substantially oval cross-section and has an 1110 opening on its bottom to allow the hat to be placed on the wearer's head once it has been assembled; this 1100 crown section includes on the inside of its lower part adjacent to the opening; an 1120 elastic band configured to fit the wearer's head and prevent the hat from accidentally coming off the wearer's head.

The inside of the cup section and the elastic band 1120 have a fungicide and anti-bacterial coating to prevent the generation of fungi and bad odours. Similarly, in additional modes, the 1000 hat of the present invention comprises a coating made of water-repellent materials.

As shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, the wing section or flap 1200, is joined to the cup section 1100 surrounding it, by means of sewing (not shown) remaining integrally united and forming the hat 1000. Said flap section which is made of a substantially semi-rigid malleable or flexible material that allows the folding of the hat, said flap section 1200 is formed by a substantially oval plate or disc made of semi-rigid material with a certain degree of flexibility, which is lined and encapsulated by a textile material or the like, which may or may not be the same as the one used to manufacture the top section 1100. The 1200 flap section comprises a flexible metal ring encapsulated by a 1210 textile which is integrated to the outer end of the 1200 brim section by means of a seam (not shown), which is configured to provide rigidity and shape to the 1200 brim section of the hat.

The 1200 brim section additionally comprises a 1220 peripheral flange, which surrounds the 1100 opening of the crown section, where the 1220 peripheral flange is sewn (not shown) to the underside of the 1200 brim section and is configured to allow the attachment of additional accessories for user protection. A pair of 1230 through holes are located on the sides of the 1220 peripheral flange, which are configured to receive an additional accessory for user protection. These 1230 holes have a metal reinforcement on the periphery to prevent the holes from enlarging or tearing and causing the accessory to come off unnoticed.

As shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, the accessories that are attached to the hat 1000 in a detachable or detachable way refer to a chinstrap cord 1300, which can be adjusted to the chin of the wearer to prevent the hat from falling off the wearer's head due to strong winds. This chinstrap cord 1300 is attached to the hat by inserting the ends of the hat into the 1230 through holes and securing them with a knot or any other type of fastener known in the state of the art.

A protective layer for the neck 1400, which in its first mode shown in FIG. 3 is joined or coupled to the peripheral rim 1220 by means of a hook and ring coupling, where the layer 1400 includes in its joining face a plurality of hooks, which are hooked to a plurality of small rings arranged in the back of said rim 1220 and thus protect the neck and/or nape of the user from the sun's rays. In the second mode of the 2000 invention, the layer 2400 is attached to the peripheral flange 2220 by means of a VELCRO® type coupling as shown in FIG. 5.

FIG. 4 shows a 1500 adjustable, mountable mosquito net, which is placed over the 1200 wing section surrounding the bottom of the 1100 cup section and attached to it by a 1510 draw string and 1511 securing device. This screen is configured to protect the user from flies, mosquitoes, flies or any other insect and even small objects.

With reference now to FIGS. 6 and 7, the folding of the multifunctional 1000 folding hat of the present invention is shown by means of the plurality of wrapping type folds, which are explained below:

First, the hat is placed with the crown section 1100 facing downwards, subsequently, the sides of the brim section 1200-fold towards the center of the hat placing one side over the other forming a kind of wrap; subsequently, the front part of said wrap is folded back to be placed over the back part of the same forming a circular wrap, which is subsequently stored in a bag of small dimensions that comes with the same hat, to be easily transported or moved without any special care.

To use the hat again, it is only necessary to take it out of the bag so that it automatically returns to its original or unfolded shape, due to the flexibility and elasticity of the metal ring that seeks to return to its original form.

As you can see, the novelty of the invention lies mainly in the practicality and the way it is folded (wrapping type folds) and stored, making it easy to transport and use. It is also important to mention that the hat does not deform when unfolded, also, it can be crushed and returns to its original shape thanks to the metal ring that provides rigidity when opening and ease when folding. Likewise, the particular folding of the hat allows it to be made of fine materials such as exotic skins, or skins with special treatments without these materials being damaged by the folding or storage of the hat.

Similarly, the 1000 hat of the present invention comprises additionally, provided that the metallic structure is not touched, more elements such as: embroideries, plastisols, labels, of adornment can such as ribbons, braids or scarves etc.

The hat of the present invention may be manufactured from a material selected from: textiles, water-repellent and antibacterial textiles, water-repellent synthetics, chamois, water-repellent chamois, leather, water-repellent sudden leather, exotic leathers with special finishes.

In accordance with the above described, it will be evident to a technician in the field that the modalities of the multifunctional folding hat of the present invention and its respective components described above are presented for illustrative purposes only, since a technician in the field may make numerous variations to it, if they are designed in accordance with the principles of the present invention. Consequently, the present invention includes all the modalities that a technician in the matter can raise from the concepts contained in the present description, in accordance with the following claims.
