Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention refers to an improved hair detoxification bag of waterproof construction comprising a barrier for chemical, viral, and pathogenic materials and which in its preferred embodiment operates as a protective covering for the hair of a user when the detoxification bag is in use.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Protective hair treatment devices are widely known in the prior art. The prior art of which the applicant is aware is replete with modified forms of head coverings that are used to cover the hair while it is being detoxified, washed, wrapped in curlers, processed, dyed, or the like. Such devices are disclosed in U.S. Pat. Nos. 7,168,434; 3,962,728; D 6,411,4051; and 9,138,025.

In most cases, the head coverings are limiting in size and are placed firmly above the entire perimeter of the head. These devices are limiting in volume. The user is therefore unable to manuever and treat the hair or prevent the cover from slipping. A user would generally find such designs unsatisfactory for managing volumes of wet hair. In addition, compressing or stuffing wet hair into such head coverings of limited size causes undesirable styling and cleansing outcomes.

Accordingly, a need remains for a hair detoxification bag that would overcome the above-noted shortcomings. It is believed, that none of the above protective hair treatment devices describe the present invention as provided herein.

To this end, the invention relates to an improved hair detoxification bag of waterproof construction. The detoxification bag includes an interior receptacle for receiving a hair treatment product and an exterior surface comprising a barrier from chemical, viral, and pathogenic materials. In its preferred embodiment, the detoxification bag operates as a protective covering for the hair of a user when it is being used to detoxify the hair.

The hair detoxification bag is further characterized with the following novel features: (1) A cap having a brim portion and an extended portion and wherein the brim portion is sized and shaped for conforming to the user's forehead such that a user's hair can be effectively extended therefrom; (2) An extended portion of a cap extending outwardly from the brim portion and thereby retaining and conducting the treatment product or liquid splashes associated therewith away from the forehead and towards a cylinder-shaped top retaining lip of a hair retainer; (3) A hair retainer extends downwardly from a cap so that the hair treatment product is directed towards the bottom opening lip being provided thereon; (4) A retainer having an annular elasticized portion with a plurality of circular members each having a length and each having a circumferential edge being provided thereon for encircling a wearer's hair. The retainer extending downwardly from the top retaining lip and terminating at a generally circular bottom retaining lip; (4) A top retaining lip of a hair retainer having a generally circular configuration and having a spout being permanently attached thereon for a hair treatment product and the spout including a slider zipper for opening and closing the spout; and (4) The top retaining lip being an injection port through which the hair treatment product is inserted into the interior receptacle of the hair detoxification bag.

The invention will be described with reference to an improved hair detoxification bag of flexible plastic construction.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

An exemplary application of the present invention is described as follows. All illustrations of the drawings are for the purpose of describing selected versions of the present invention and are not intended to be limiting in scope. It will be apparent to a person having ordinary skill in the art that the invention as presented is useable with or without some of the various parts described.

An improved hair detoxification bag 10 of waterproof construction is disclosed. FIGS. 1-5 illustrate an exemplary type of hair detoxification bag 10 whereby the hair detoxification bag 10 features an interior receptacle 12 for receiving a hair treatment product, and an exterior surface 14 comprising a barrier from chemical, viral and pathogenic materials and which in its preferred embodiment operates as a protective covering for the hair of a user.

For example, and without limitation, FIGS. 1-5 show the hair detoxification bag 10 having a cap 16 for placement on the head of a user. The cap 16 having a brim portion 18 and an extended portion 22 that is attached to a hair retainer 30 having a top retaining lip 26 and wherein the extended portion 22 extends outwardly from the brim portion 18 and the extended portion 22 moves the user's hair away from the brim portion 18 in a downward position. The brim portion 18 is removably secured around a user's forehead. The brim portion 18 is sized and shaped for conforming to the user's forehead such that a user's hair can be effectively extended therefrom while the hair detoxification bag 10 is being used. The brim portion 18 is constructed to remain on the user's forehead while the user's hair is being moved during treatment with the hair treatment product and the upward and downward movement of the hair retainer 30. It should be understood that the brim portion 18 and embodiments shown as attached thereon and described in the figures and throughout this specification are exemplary and non-limiting. More or fewer embodiments can be added to the brim portion 18 to obtain as much structural and functional support as prescribed by the user. For example, the brim portion 18 of the cap 16 can be manufactured in sizes lower or higher than the head size of a particular user. It can be fitted with additional reinforcements or can be constructed in a manner to increase stability while the hair detoxification bag 10 is in use. These adjustments would ensure that the outer annular edges of the brim portion 18 can easily pass over the forehead and around the back of the user's head. This would further ensure that the hair product in the detoxification bag 10 is used effectively on the scalp and the hair while spilling or pouring of the contents is avoided. The detoxification would operate by the pressure and the pull being applied to the hair retainer 30 while the cap 16 is held in a substantially stationary position and not caused to assume a slanted position towards the hairline.

The invention as prescribed herein features an extended portion 22 of the hair detoxification bag 10 extending outwardly from said brim portion 18 and thereby retaining and conducting said hair treatment product or liquid splashes associated with said products away from the brim 18 and ultimately away from the user's eyes or lower areas of the forehead. The extended portion 22 is attached to a cylinder-shaped top retaining lip 26 of the hair retainer 30. The hair retainer can be compressed and extended downwardly from the cap 16 so that the hair treatment product is directed above the forehead and downward within the hair retainer and towards a bottom retaining lip 32 being provided thereon. The bottom retaining lip 32 having an opening 34 with a removable cap 36 and being a release point for the hair treatment product when the cap 16 is removed.

Still referring to FIGS. 1-5, the hair retainer 30 includes an annular elasticized portion 38 with a plurality of circular members 42 each having a length and each having a circumferential edge 44 being provided thereon for encircling a wearer's hair. The annular elasticized portion 38 being compressed at and extending downwardly from the top retaining lip 26 and terminating at a generally circular bottom retaining lip 32. The top retaining lip 26 having a generally circular configuration and having a spout 46 being permanently attached thereon for receiving the hair treatment product and allowing the hair treatment product to soak the user's hair. The spout 46 further including a slider zipper 48 for opening and closing the spout 46. The top retaining lip 26 being an injection port through which the hair treatment product is inserted into the interior receptacle 12 of the detoxification bag 10.

in a preferred embodiment, the hair detoxification bag 10 is specially designed to soak dreadlocks during the detoxification process and without a sink. The hair detoxification bag 10 would provide mobility to individuals while soaking the dreadlocks. In addition, the entire head of hair, as well as the scalp, would be soaked. However, this product could be used by individuals of all ages who wear dreadlocks, braids, or layered hairstyles of various lengths. It could also be used in salons on clients to free up sinks for other clients. Thus, stylists could work on more clients in a shorter time period and increase revenues by the establishment. This hair detoxification bag 10 would offer mobility for clients. As a result, it could contribute to increased customer satisfaction.

In use, the cap 16 of the hair detoxification bag 10 is tightly engaged with a user's forehead. It can be adapted to adjustably fit a range of head sizes by telescopically engaging the brim 18 of the cap 16 from each side of the head and whereby the entire cap 16 is positionable by lowering further down the forehead or towards the neck. After a secured fit is ensured, the user would simply fill the detoxification bag 10 with a hair product and the hair can be allowed to soak, rinse, or a specific treatment processes can be repeated until drained water has the desired color or consistency. The zipper opening is shaped to allow for the hair product to flow from a centralized area of the detoxification bag 10 to areas beneath the cap 16, hair retainer 30, and the entire length of the hair. The interior of the detoxification bag 10 further retaining the hair products until it is slowly released or directed towards the removable cap 36. The elasticized portion of the hair retainer 30 is adjustable in length by upward and downward pulls to obtain the desired tension and to allow the user to grip the entire lengths of hair. In that regard, the placement of the cap 16 would support the hair retainer 30 so as to retain the detoxification bag 10 through the complete pulls or the upward and downward movements of the bag 10. The detoxification bag 10 is adapted to be wiped, washed, and reused as desired by the user.

The hair detoxification bag 10 as provided herein would be would be especially useful for the utilization of hair products including hair detoxification products, hair cleansers, mixed components, and other cleansing substances that are normally used for hair treatments. Whereby the preference of a hair detoxification substance would retain any necessary strength and rinsing as desired during or after processing as provided herein.

The pouch would be generally elongated in shape as provided herein and may be formed using fabrication techniques that are recognized in the relevant art to construct the same. It may be manufactured from a flexible plastic material and may be constructed in a plurality of colors, patterns, prints, and designs and may include decorative information, such as a logos, trademarks, sports memorabilia, reflective material or the like, to inform the consumer with information regarding the contents of the bag 10.

The hair detoxification bag 10 can be of materials that provide for the placement of instructional materials, appropriate business labeling, product identification, manufacturer identification, recommended quantity of hair products, and instructions for use. This invention can be produced in large quantities in a local setting or it can be made available for worldwide use. Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to provide a detoxification bag 10 that is relatively lightweight, inexpensive, of superior quality, and easily manufactured. The detoxification bag 10 can be made available for salons, not-for-profit institutions, hospitals, emergency response areas, schools, and in least-developed countries where the invention as prescribed herein is not easily manufactured or made commercially available. A further object is to provide a device of this character of simple and practical construction otherwise well adapted for the purposes for which the same is intended.

Having described my invention, however, many modifications thereto will become apparent to those skilled in the art to which it pertains without deviation from the spirit of the invention as defined by the scope of the appended claims. Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.
