CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATION

This application claims priority in U.S. Provisional Patent Application No. 63/173,084 Filed Apr. 9, 2021, which is incorporated herein by reference.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates generally to a hair clipper storage and retention device and method for use thereof, and more specifically to a selectively placeable hair clipper storage and retention device.

2. Description of the Related Art

Barbers and hair stylists often use hair clippers, and may use multiple clippers during any one haircut session. The user may be forced to place multiple hair clippers and other tools on any available nearby surface. Their work station can become quickly disorganized. Efficient storage of tools including multiple hair clippers would be desirable.

Heretofore there has not been available a system or method for a hair clipper storage and retention device with the advantages and features of the present invention.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention generally provides a hair clipper storage and retention system which generally includes a base portion and a head portion meeting at a bend. The base portion can be affixed to any suitable surface using double-sided tape, magnets, hook-and-loop fasteners such as Velcro®, or by any other suitable means. The base is intended to be placed in a convenient location for the user, such as on a mirror or a work surface.

The head portion includes a magnet or other suitable receiver element which is designed to receive the head of a hair clipper device, which tend to be metal or include metal. This allows the hair clipper device to be conveniently and safely stored around the work station of the user and in easy reach and able to be retrieved with only one hand.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS I. Introduction and Environment

As required, detailed aspects of the present invention are disclosed herein, however, it is to be understood that the disclosed aspects are merely exemplary of the invention, which may be embodied in various forms. Therefore, specific structural and functional details disclosed herein are not to be interpreted as limiting, but merely as a basis for the claims and as a representative basis for teaching one skilled in the art how to variously employ the present invention in virtually any appropriately detailed structure.

Certain terminology will be used in the following description for convenience in reference only and will not be limiting. For example, up, down, front, back, right and left refer to the invention as orientated in the view being referred to. The words, “inwardly” and “outwardly” refer to directions toward and away from, respectively, the geometric center of the aspect being described and designated parts thereof. Forwardly and rearwardly are generally in reference to the direction of travel, if appropriate. Said terminology will include the words specifically mentioned, derivatives thereof and words of similar meaning.

II. Preferred Embodiment Hair Clipper Storage System 2

As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the present invention is a hair clipper storage and retention system 2 which is easily placeable about the user's workspace, such as on a countertop or shelf 16, and can accommodate any standard hair clipper device 6. FIG. 1 shows how the hair clipper storage system 2 can store the head 8 of a hair clipper device 6 by magnetically affixing the head of the clipper device to the upper portion 10 of the storage device 4. The base 12 of the storage device 4 bends away from the head of the storage system at an angle typical of hair clippers 6. The base 12 can then be secured to a surface, such as a mirror or a flat work station 16, using adhesive tape or other suitable methods to affix the base of the storage system to the work station. As shown, an adhesive pad 18 secures the base to the work surface. This allows the user to have one-handed capability to both take and store their hair clippers.

A magnet 14 can be affixed to the upper portion 10, or may be embedded therein as shown in the alternative embodiment below. The magnet 14 magnetically connects the head 8 of the clippers 6 to the upper portion 10 of the storage device 4. This retains the clippers 6 within arm's reach until the user needs to use them again, at which point the user can simply pull on the clippers 6, thereby breaking the magnetic connection between the head 8 and the magnet 14.

Multiple hair clipper storage devices 4 can be placed in the user's work space at once to accommodate multiple clippers 6.

FIG. 7 shows a slightly alternative embodiment hair clipper storage system 52 where the storage device 54 has an upper portion 60 which has a magnet 64 embedded directly within the material. The base 62 and the upper portion 60 are all formed from a single mold or may be formed as one three-dimensionally printed piece.

It is to be understood that while certain embodiments and/or aspects of the invention have been shown and described, the invention is not limited thereto and encompasses various other embodiments and aspects.
