Abstract

A hair replacement assembly for simulating a hairline includes a net, which has a first face that is selectively engageable to a scalp of a user so that the net is removably engaged to the scalp. A plurality of filaments is engaged to the net and extends from a second face of the net. The filaments mimic hair of the user or a wig positioned on a head of the user. The net is one of a plurality of nets, with each net having a respective shape so that the plurality of nets comprises nets having a variety of shapes. Each net is shaped substantially complementarily to an associated target area on the scalp of the user so that the plurality of nets can cover a plurality of target areas. The filaments blend the target areas with the hair of the user or the wig.

(G) BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

(1) Field of the Invention

The disclosure relates to hairpiece assemblies and more particularly pertains to a new hairpiece assembly for simulating a hairline. The present invention discloses a hairpiece assembly comprising a plurality a nets, with each net being attachable by a first face to a scalp of a user and having a plurality of filaments extending from a second face. The plurality of nets is configured to extend from proximate to a lower back of one ear, across a forehead, and to proximate to a lower back of the other ear of the user.

The prior art relates to hairpiece assemblies. Prior art hairpiece assemblies comprises wigs and hairpieces which cover all or a portion of a scalp of a user. Some prior art hairpiece assemblies simulate a front hairline along a forehead of the user. What is lacking in the prior art is a hairpiece assembly comprising a plurality a nets, with each net being attachable by a first face to a scalp of a user and having a plurality of filaments extending from a second face. The plurality of nets is configured to extend from proximate to a lower back of one ear, across a forehead, and to proximate to a lower back of the other ear of the user, thus providing a new hairline extending between the lower back edges of the ears.

(H) BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a net, which has a first face that is configured to selectively engage a scalp of a user so that the net is removably engaged to the scalp. A plurality of filaments is engaged to the net and extends from a second face of the net. The filaments are configured to mimic hair of the user or a wig positioned on a head of the user. The net is one of a plurality of nets, with each net having a respective shape so that the plurality of nets comprises nets having a variety of shapes. Each net is shaped substantially complementarily to an associated target area on the scalp of the user so that the plurality of nets is configured to cover a plurality of target areas. The filaments blend the target areas with the hair of the user or the wig.

There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.

(J) DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, a new hairpiece assembly embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.

As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 5, the hair replacement assembly 10 generally comprises a net 12, which has a first face 14 that is configured to selectively engage a scalp of a user so that the net 12 is removably engaged to the scalp. The net 12 is substantially transparent. The net 12 is one of a plurality of nets 12, with each net 12 having a respective shape 16 so that the plurality of nets 12 comprises nets 12 having a variety of shapes 16. Each net 12 is shaped substantially complementarily to an associated target area on the scalp of the user so that the plurality of nets 12 is configured to cover a plurality of target areas.

The plurality of nets 12 may comprise a pair of first nettings 18 and a second netting 20. Each first netting 18 is shaped complementarily to a respective target area positioned proximate to an associated ear of the user. The second netting 20 is shaped complementarily to a respective target area extending along a front hairline of the user or a forward edge of the wig.

The second netting 20 may be sized to extend substantially between the first nettings 18 when the plurality of nets 12 is engaged to the scalp of the user, as is shown in FIG. 4. Each first netting 18 has a front edge 22, a rear edge 24, a top edge 26, and a bottom edge 28. A cutout 30 extends into the bottom edge 28 so that the first netting 18 is positionable around the associated ear. The top edge 26 and the rear edge 24 are arcuate.

The present invention anticipates nets 12 having other shapes 16 to cover a variety of target areas, such as, but not limited to, target areas associated with male pattern baldness, alopecia, and traction hair loss. The present invention also anticipates each net 12 being sized larger than its associated target area so that the net 12 can be trimmed with a pair of scissors to match an outline of the associated target area.

A plurality of filaments 32 is engaged to the net 12 and extends from a second face 34 of the net 12. The filaments 32 are configured to mimic hair of the user or a wig positioned on a head of the user. The filaments 32 blend the target areas with the hair of the user or the wig and can simulate a new hairline. The filaments 32 comprise mammalian hair or synthetic fiber. The filaments 32 may comprise human hair, such as, but not limited to, hair of the user. The present invention anticipates the filaments 32 comprising human hair of a length allowing for trimming and styling.

The assembly 10 also comprises an adhesive 36, which is selectively applicable to the first face 14 of the net 12 so that the adhesive 36 substantially covers the first face 14. The adhesive 36 is configured to reversibly engage skin and thus is configured to selectively engage the scalp of the user to removably engage the net 12 to the scalp. The adhesive 36 comprises one or more of spirit gum, liquid latex, silicone, benzoin, contact cement, and collodion.

In use, the hair replacement assembly 10 enables a method 38 for simulating a hairline. The method 38 comprises a first step 40 of providing a hair replacement assembly 10 according to the specification above. A second step 42 of the method 38 is providing an adhesive 36. A third step 44 of the method 38 is applying the adhesive 36 to the first face 14 of each first netting 18 and the first face 14 of the second netting 20. A fourth step 46 of the method 38 is positioning each net 12 over an associated target area. A fifth step 48 of the method 38 entails pressing the nets 12 onto the associated target areas to removably engage the nets 12 to the scalp so that the nets 12 simulate a new hairline.

With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.

Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.

Claims

1. A hair replacement assembly comprising:

a net having a first face configured for selectively engaging a scalp of a user, such that the net is removably engaged to the scalp;

a plurality of filaments engaged to the net and extending from a second face of the net, wherein the filaments are configured for mimicking hair of the user or a wig positioned on a head of the user; and

the net being one of a plurality of nets, each net having a respective shape such that the plurality of nets comprises nets having a variety of shapes, each net being shaped substantially complementarily to an associated target area on the scalp of the user, wherein the plurality of nets is configured for covering a plurality of target areas, such that the filaments blend the target areas with the hair of the user or the wig.

2. The hair replacement assembly of claim 1, wherein the net is substantially transparent.

3. The hair replacement assembly of claim 1, further including an adhesive selectively applicable to the first face of the net, such that the adhesive substantially covers the first face, the adhesive being configured for reversibly engaging skin, wherein the adhesive is configured for selectively engaging the scalp of the user for removably engaging the net to the scalp.

4. The hair replacement assembly of claim 3, wherein the adhesive comprising one or more of spirit gum, liquid latex, silicone, benzoin, contact cement, and collodion.

5. The hair replacement assembly of claim 1, wherein the filaments comprise mammalian hair or synthetic fiber.

6. The hair replacement assembly of claim 5, wherein the filaments comprising human hair.

7. The hair replacement assembly of claim 6, wherein the filaments comprise hair of the user.

8. The hair replacement assembly of claim 1, wherein the plurality of nets comprises a pair of first nettings and a second netting, each first netting being shaped complementarily to a respective target area positioned proximate to an associated ear of the user, the second netting being shaped complementarily to a respective target area extending along a front hairline of the user or a forward edge of the wig.

9. The hair replacement assembly of claim 8, wherein the second netting is sized such that the second netting extends substantially between the first nettings when the plurality of nets is engaged to the scalp of the user.

10. The hair replacement assembly of claim 8, wherein each first netting having a front edge, a rear edge, a top edge, and a bottom edge, a cutout extends into the bottom edge such that the first netting is positionable around the associated ear, the top edge and the rear edge being arcuate.

11. A method utilizing a hair replacement assembly for simulating a hairline, the method comprising the steps of:

providing a hair replacement assembly comprising: a net having a first face configured for selectively engaging an adhesive, a plurality of filaments engaged to the net and extending from a second face of the net, wherein the filaments are configured for mimicking hair of a user or a wig positioned on a head of the user, and the net being one of a plurality of nets, each net having a respective shape such that the plurality of nets comprises nets having a variety of shapes, each net being shaped substantially complementarily to an associated target area on a scalp of the user, the plurality of nets comprising a pair of first nettings and a second netting, each first netting being shaped complementarily to a respective target area positioned proximate to an associated ear of the user, the second netting being shaped complementarily to a respective target area extending along a front hairline of the user or a forward edge of the wig;

providing an adhesive, the adhesive being configured for reversibly engaging skin, wherein the adhesive is configured for selectively engaging the scalp of the user for removably engaging the net to the scalp;

applying the adhesive to the first face of each first netting and the first face of the second netting, such that the adhesive substantially covers the first face of each net;

positioning each net over an associated target area; and

pressing the nets onto the associated target areas to removably engage the nets to the scalp, wherein the nets are configured for covering a plurality of target areas, such that the filaments blend the target areas with hair of the user or the wig for simulating a new hairline.

12. A hair replacement assembly comprising:

a net having a first face configured for selectively engaging a scalp of a user, such that the net is removably engaged to the scalp, the net being substantially transparent;

an adhesive selectively applicable to the first face of the net, such that the adhesive substantially covers the first face, the adhesive being configured for reversibly engaging skin, wherein the adhesive is configured for selectively engaging the scalp of the user for removably engaging the net to the scalp, the adhesive comprising one or more of spirit gum, liquid latex, silicone, benzoin, contact cement, and collodion;

a plurality of filaments engaged to the net and extending from a second face of the net, wherein the filaments are configured for mimicking hair of the user or a wig positioned on a head of the user, the filaments comprising mammalian hair or synthetic fiber, the filaments comprising human hair, the filaments comprising hair of the user; and

the net being one of a plurality of nets, each net having a respective shape such that the plurality of nets comprises nets having a variety of shapes, each net being shaped substantially complementarily to an associated target area on the scalp of the user, wherein the plurality of nets is configured for covering a plurality of target areas, such that the filaments blend the target areas with the hair of the user or the wig, the plurality of nets comprising a pair of first nettings and a second netting, each first netting being shaped complementarily to a respective target area positioned proximate to an associated ear of the user, the second netting being shaped complementarily to a respective target area extending along a front hairline of the user or a forward edge of the wig, the second netting being sized such that the second netting extends substantially between the first nettings when the plurality of nets is engaged to the scalp of the user, each first netting having a front edge, a rear edge, a top edge, and a bottom edge, a cutout extends into the bottom edge such that the first netting is positionable around the associated ear, the top edge and the rear edge being arcuate.
