Description
CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS

This application claims the benefit of U.S. Provisional Application Ser. No. 63/208,989 filed on Jun. 10, 2021, wherein the entirety of the Provisional application is incorporated by reference herein.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Field of the Invention

The invention relates to a wireless charger, and in particular, to a wireless charger with a magnet for aligning an electronic device being wirelessly charged.

Description of the Related Art

As charging for consumer and automotive devices become more and more popular, however, the alignment between a wireless charger and an electronic device being wirelessly charged is important for increasing the efficiency of wireless charging.

Accordingly, the present invention proposes a better solution for aligning a wireless charger and an electronic device being wirelessly charged.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

One objective of the present invention is to provide a solution to align a wireless charger and an electronic device being wirelessly charged.

One objective of the present invention is to shorten the distance between a magnet of a wireless charger and a corresponding magnet of an electronic device to increase the magnetic force for aligning the wireless charger and the electronic device being wirelessly charged.

One objective of the present invention is to provide a recess on a metallic case of a wireless charger so that a camera lens of an electronic device can be placed in the recess for avoiding a gap between a top surface of a wireless charger and a bottom surface of the electronic device being wirelessly charged.

In one embodiment, a wireless charger is disclosed, wherein the wireless charger comprises: a top cover, comprising insulating material for placing an electronic device thereon; at least one coil, disposed under the top cover for wireless charging the electronic device; and a first magnet, wherein the first magnet is embedded inside the top cover for aligning with a second magnet of the electronic device for wireless charging the electronic device.

In one embodiment, the top cover comprises a polymer material.

In one embodiment, the top cover comprises a plastic material.

In one embodiment, the top cover comprises a thermal-conductive material.

In one embodiment, a low-carbon steel ring is placed under the magnetic ring and above the at least one coil.

In one embodiment, the at least one coil comprises a first coil, wherein the wireless charger further comprises a third magnet, wherein said third magnet is surrounding the first coil.

In one embodiment, the at least one coil comprises a first coil and a second coil, wherein the wireless charger further comprises a third magnet, wherein said third magnet is surrounding the first coil.

In one embodiment, the at least one coil comprises a first coil and a second coil, wherein the wireless charger further comprises a third magnet, wherein said third magnet is surrounding the first coil, wherein a fan is disposed at a lateral side of the coils.

In one embodiment, the at least one coil comprises a first coil, a second coil, and a third coil, wherein the second coil is disposed on the first coil and the third coil, wherein the wireless charger further comprises a third magnet, wherein said third magnet is surrounding the second coil.

In one embodiment, the wireless charger comprises a metallic case with a recess formed on the top surface of the metallic case, such that a camera lens of the electronic device is capable of being placed in said recess.

In one embodiment, the at least one coil comprises a first coil and a second coil, wherein the wireless charger further comprises a third magnet, wherein said third magnet is surrounding the first coil, wherein a fan is disposed at a lateral side of the coils and located under said recess.

In one embodiment, said at least one coil is disposed on a magnetic sheet comprising ferrite.

In one embodiment, the first magnet is an open ring, wherein the first magnet comprises at least one gap with each gap being located between two different portions of the first magnet.

In one embodiment, a wireless charger is disclosed, wherein the wireless charger comprises: a metallic case, wherein a recess is formed on a top surface of the metallic case such that a camera lens of the electronic device is capable of being placed in said recess, and a fan, disposed at a lateral side of the at least one coil and located under said recess, wherein a plurality of through openings are formed on a bottom surface of the recess, wherein the fan causes an airflow entering into the plurality of through openings for dissipating heat to the outside of the wireless charger.

In one embodiment, the wireless charger further comprises a circuit board disposed in the metallic case and a heatsink disposed under the circuit board, wherein the fan causes the airflow to enter into the plurality of through openings and pass through the heatsink under the circuit board for dissipating heat to the outside of the wireless charger.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

It is understood that the following disclosure provides many different embodiments, or examples, for implementing different features of the invention. Specific examples of devices and arrangements are described below to simplify the present disclosure. These are, of course, merely examples and are not intended to be limiting. For example, the formation of a first feature over or on a second feature in the description that follows may include embodiments in which the first and second features are formed in direct contact, and may also include embodiments in which additional features are formed between the first and second features such that the first and second features are not in direct contact. In addition, the present disclosure may repeat reference numerals and/or letters in the various examples. This repetition is for simplicity and clarity and does not in itself dictate a relationship between the various embodiments and/or configurations discussed.

FIG. 1A is a side view of a wireless charger 100 for wireless charging an electronic device 200 according to one embodiment of the invention, wherein the wireless charger 100 comprises: a top cover 101 comprising an insulating material for placing an electronic device 200 thereon; at least one coil 102 disposed under the top cover 101 for wireless charging the electronic device 200; and a first magnet 103, wherein the first magnet 103 is embedded inside the top cover 101 for aligning with a second magnet 201 of the electronic device 200 for wireless charging the electronic device 200.

In one embodiment, the top cover 101 comprises a polymer material.

In one embodiment, the top cover 101 comprises a plastic material with high thermal conductivity.

In one embodiment, the top cover 101 comprises a thermal-conductive material.

In one embodiment, a low-carbon steel ring 104 is placed under the first magnet 103 and above the at least one coil 102.

In one embodiment, as shown in FIG. 1C, the wireless charger 100 comprises a case 150 with a recess 151 formed on a top surface of the case 150, such that a camera lens 202 of the electronic device 200 is capable of being placed in the recess 151.

In one embodiment, the case 151 is a metallic case.

In one embodiment, the top cover 101 is a pad disposed on the top surface of the case 151.

In one embodiment, an E-field shielding board 107 is disposed between the first magnet 103 and the at least one coil 102.

In one embodiment, said at least one coil 102 is disposed on a magnetic sheet 105 comprising ferrite.

In one embodiment, a circuit board 106 is disposed under the magnetic sheet 105.

In one embodiment, the first magnet 103 is an open ring, wherein the first magnet 103 comprises at least one gap with each gap being located between two different portions of the first magnet 103.

Embedding the first magnet 103 in the top cover can greatly shorten the distance between the second magnet 201 of the electronic device 200 and the first magnet 103 of the wireless charger so that the magnetic force can be effectively increased.

FIG. 1B is a top view of a wireless charger 100 for wireless charging an electronic device 200 according to one embodiment of the invention, wherein the wireless charger comprises: a top cover 101, comprising insulating material for placing an electronic device 200 thereon; at least one coil 102, disposed under the top cover 101 for wireless charging the electronic device 200; and a first magnet 103, wherein the first magnet 103 is embedded inside the top cover 101 for aligning with a second magnet 201 of the electronic device 200 for wireless charging the electronic device 200, wherein the wireless charger further comprises a third magnet 108 for aligning with a second magnet 201 of the electronic device 200.

In one embodiment, as shown in FIG. 1D, the at least one coil 102 comprises a first coil 102a and a second coil 102b, wherein the third magnet 100 is surrounding the first coil 102a.

In one embodiment, as shown in FIG. 1E, the at least one coil comprises a first coil 102a, a second coil 102b, and a third coil 102c, wherein the first coil 102a is disposed on the second coil 102b and the third coil 102c, wherein the third magnet 108 is surrounding the first coil 102a.

In one embodiment, as shown in FIG. 1F, the at least one coil comprises a first coil 102a, wherein the third magnet 108 is surrounding the first coil 102a.

In one embodiment, the third magnet 108 is an open ring, wherein the third magnet 108 comprises at least one gap with each gap being located between two different portions of the third magnet 108.

In one embodiment, as shown in FIG. 2, a wireless charger is disclosed, wherein the wireless charger comprises: a metallic case 150, wherein a recess 151 is formed on a top surface of the metallic case 150 such that a camera lens 202 of the electronic device 200 is capable of being placed in said recess 151; a fan 400, disposed under said recess 151, wherein a plurality of through openings 260 are formed on a bottom surface of the recess 151, wherein the fan 400 causes an airflow 300 entering into the plurality of through openings 260 for dissipating heat to the outside 600 of the wireless charger.

In one embodiment, the wireless charger comprises a circuit board 500 disposed in the metallic case 150 and a heatsink 700 disposed under the circuit board 500, wherein the fan 400 causes the airflow 300 to enter into the plurality of through openings 260 and pass through the heatsink 700 under the circuit board 500 for dissipating heat to the outside 600 of the wireless charger.

From the foregoing, it will be appreciated that, although specific embodiments have been described herein for purposes of illustration, various modifications can be made without deviating from the spirit and scope of the disclosure. Furthermore, where an alternative is disclosed for a particular embodiment, this alternative may also apply to other embodiments even if not specifically stated.

Claims

1. A wireless charger, comprising:

a top cover, comprising an insulating material for placing an electronic device thereon;
at least one coil, disposed under the top cover for wireless charging the electronic device; and
a first magnet, wherein the first magnet is embedded inside the top cover for aligning with a second magnet of the electronic device for wireless charging the electronic device.

2. The wireless charger of claim 1, wherein the wireless charger comprises a case, wherein the at least one coil is disposed in the case, wherein the top cover is a pad that is disposed on a top surface of the case.

3. The wireless charger of claim 1, wherein the top cover comprises a polymer material.

4. The wireless charger of claim 1, wherein the top cover comprises a plastic material with high thermal conductivity.

5. The wireless charger of claim 1, further comprising a low-carbon steel ring that is placed under the magnetic ring and above the at least one coil.

6. The wireless charger of claim 1, wherein the at least one coil comprises a first coil, wherein the wireless charger further comprises a third magnet, wherein said third magnet is surrounding the first coil.

7. The wireless charger of claim 1, wherein the at least one coil comprises a first coil and a second coil, wherein the wireless charger further comprises a third magnet, wherein said third magnet is surrounding the first coil.

8. The wireless charger of claim 1, wherein the at least one coil comprises a first coil and a second coil, wherein the wireless charger further comprises a third magnet, wherein said third magnet is surrounding the first coil, wherein a fan is disposed at a lateral side of the coils.

9. The wireless charger of claim 1, wherein the at least one coil comprises a first coil, a second coil, and a third coil, wherein the second coil is disposed on the first coil and the third coil, wherein the wireless charger further comprises a third magnet, wherein said third magnet is surrounding the second coil.

10. The wireless charger of claim 2, wherein a recess is formed on a top surface of the case, wherein a camera lens of the electronic device is capable of being placed in said recess.

11. The wireless charger of claim 10, wherein the at least one coil comprises a first coil and a second coil, wherein the wireless charger further comprises a third magnet, wherein said third magnet is surrounding the first coil, wherein a fan is disposed at a lateral side of the coils and located under said recess.

12. The wireless charger of claim 1, wherein an E-field shielding board is disposed between the first magnet and said at least one coil.

13. The wireless charger of claim 1, wherein said at least one coil is disposed on a magnetic sheet comprising ferrite.

14. The wireless charger of claim 1, wherein the first magnet is an open ring, wherein the first magnet comprises at least one gap with each gap being located between two different portions of the first magnet.

15. The wireless charger of claim 7, wherein the third magnet is an open ring, wherein the third magnet comprises at least one gap with each gap being located between two different portions of the third magnet.

16. A wireless charger, comprising: a metallic case, wherein a recess is formed on a top surface of the metallic case such that a camera lens of the electronic device is capable of being placed in said recess, and a fan, disposed located under said recess, wherein a plurality of through openings are formed on a bottom surface of the recess, wherein the fan causes an airflow entering into the plurality of through openings for dissipating heat to the outside of the wireless charger.

17. The wireless charger of claim 16, wherein the wireless charger further comprises a circuit board disposed in the metallic case and a heatsink disposed under the circuit board, wherein the airflow passes through the heatsink under the circuit board for dissipating heat to the outside of the wireless charger.

18. The wireless charger of claim 16, wherein the wireless charger comprises a top cover disposed on the top surface of the metallic case, wherein a first magnet is embedded inside the top cover for aligning with a second magnet of the electronic device for wireless charging the electronic device.

19. The wireless charger of claim 18, wherein the wireless charger comprises a first coil and a second coil, wherein a third magnet is surrounding the first coil, wherein a fan is disposed at a lateral side of the coils and located under said recess.

20. The wireless charger of claim 18, wherein the first magnet is an open ring, wherein the first magnet comprises at least one gap with each gap being located between two different portions of the first magnet.
