Abstract

A forehead accessory comprising two earpieces and an ornamentation that can be displayed on the wearer's forehead. The forehead accessory can comprise multiple ornamentations and the ornamentations can be switched out between earpieces.

The present application relates and claims priority to U.S. Provisional Application Ser. No. 63/215,104, filed Jun. 25, 2021, the entirety of which is hereby incorporated by reference.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present disclosure relates generally to jewelry and more specifically, jewelry worn on a person's forehead.

BACKGROUND

Currently there are no easy ways to display or wear ornamental accessory on a forehead. Conventional jewelry or headwear includes items such as headbands and tiaras. These commonly sit on the wearer's head and do not have the ability to display an ornamental feature on the wearer's forehead. Additionally, headbands and tiaras and other conventional ornamental headwear can be uncomfortable and can fall off the wearer easily. The users hair often needs to be styled around the jewelry and in some cases such as with tiaras they often need to be attached to the user's hair. Therefore, there is a need for an easier way to wear an accessory or ornamentation on a person's forehead.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present disclosure is directed to inventive devices and methods for wearing jewelry on a forehead. According to one embodiment the device includes earpieces and a forehead accessory. In one example the forehead accessory is configured to display ornamental pieces on a person's forehead while being held in place by the user's ears. The forehead accessory can stay securely in place around the person's ears and does not need to be held in place with bobby pins, ribbons, or barrettes. By using the ears to hold the forehead accessory in place avoids needing to configure their hair around the jewelry. Ornamentation and designs of the accessory can vary greatly in design.

Aspects of the present invention and certain features, advantages, and details thereof, are explained more fully below with reference to the non-limiting examples illustrated in the accompanying drawings. Referring now to FIG. 1, there is shown a perspective view of an example of a forehead accessory, referred to generally by reference numeral 10. In the example depicted, the forehead accessory 10 is comprised of earpieces 12 and ornamentation 14. The forehead accessory 10 is configured to be placed around a person's ears and display ornamentation 14 on the person's forehead. In this example the earpieces 12 and ornamentation 14 are one continuous piece and the body of the device 10 is angled between the earpieces 12 and the ornamentation 14 so that the ornamentation 14 is displayed on the person's forehead as opposed to being at the person's eyes. In this example the ornamentation 14 is curved so that the to be device is able to wrap around the person's forehead.

Referring now to FIG. 2, there is shown a side view of a person wearing an example of a forehead accessory 10. As shown the forehead accessory 10 can be placed around a user's forehead and held by the user's ears. The forehead accessory 10 can be secured on or by the person's ears and can extend forward and slightly upward toward the person's forehead. The forehead accessory 10 is configured to display an ornamentation 14 on the person's forehead without the need to be secured to the person's hair or worn on top of the persons head. The forehead accessory 10 stays securely in place around the ears and does not need to be held in place with bobby pins or other devices. Therefore, it does not flatten the person's hair. In one example the forehead accessory 10 lays along the person's hairline near the ears. The forehead accessory 10 can also be worn under or on top of a person's bangs.

Earpieces 12 can be wrapped around or sit upon a user's ears, worn similar to the temples of eyeglasses. The earpieces 12 can be adjusted or bent to fit properly around the user's ears. In one example the forehead accessory 10 can be configured to be worn with or attached to a user's glasses. Earpieces 12 can be decorative for example by containing embellishments these embellishments can be the same as the ornamentation 14 or can be unique. In one embodiment earpiece 12 is comprised of arms and cushions. The cushion material can be made out of rubber, silicone, plastic or other suitable material. The earpieces 12 can be angled upward or have a bend in them to properly position ornamentation 14 on a user's forehead as opposed to the eyes.

Ornamentation 14 can be held and displayed across a user's forehead. Ornamentation 14 can be capable of being moved into different positions on the forehead by the user. In one example, ornamentation 14 can sit at any position on the user's forehead and the position can be adjusted. Ornamentation 14 can be simple or elaborate. In one example ornamentation 14 can be a strap, band, or chain. The ornamentation 14 can hold decorative accessories such as but not limited to gemstones, beads, jewels, charms, or medallions. The length and thickness of the ornamentation 14 can vary depending on style and material. Ornamentation 14 can be interchangeable with other ornamentations and multiple ornamentations can be worn together.

In examples with separate or interchangeable earpieces 12 and ornamentations 14 there can be an attachment point where the ornamentation 14 connects to the earpieces 12. The attachment point can be any suitable mechanism of attachment such as a ring, a clip, a hinge, a hole, latch, or magnets. The attachment point can be a part of the earpieces 12 or can be a separate component connected to the earpieces 12. In one example the ornamentation 14 can have a ring on each end and the earpieces 12 can have a latch or clip for the rings to attach to. In another example the ornamentation 14 can have a ring or hook on each end and the earpieces 12 can have a hole or hook to attach to. In another example the ornamentation 14 and earpieces 12 can each have magnets to attach to.

In some examples, the attachment points 16 can also be used to position the ornamentation on the forehead. In one example, the attachment point can have a portion that lifts upward off of the earpieces 12. In another example the attachment points 16 can be connected to the earpiece 12 on a hinge or have a hinge within them to adjust the position and/or height of the ornamentation 14.

Referring now to FIG. 3, there is shown a perspective view of an example of a forehead accessory 10. In the example depicted the ornamentation 14 and earpieces 12 are one continuous piece. This example further comprises an additional ornamentation 15. Additional ornamentations 15 can be attached to any component of the forehead accessory 10 such as the first ornamentation 14, a hinge, an attachment point, or the earpieces 12. Here ornamentation 14 is rigid and can be used to position the second ornamentation 16 at a certain spot or shaped in a certain way on the user's forehead. The second ornamentation 15 is not ridged but is taut In other examples the second ornamentation can be longer than the first ornamentation and can dangle loosely.

Referring now to FIG. 4, there is shown a perspective view of an example of a forehead accessory 10. In the example depicted, the ornamentation 14 and earpieces 12 are separate and attached at an attachment points 16. The earpieces 12 here are comprised of arms and cushions. Here, the ornamentation 14 here is a chain but could be any type of ornamentation 14 and could be interchangeable at the attachment point. The ornamentation 14 can be tight along a user's forehead or loose such that it dangles depending on the length of the chain.

Referring now to FIG. 5, there is shown a side view of an example of a user wearing the forehead accessory 10. In the example depicted the second ornamentation 15 runs the entire length of forehead accessory 10. Cushion or padding can be added to the portion of the earpiece 12 which sits on or around a user's ear.

Referring now to FIG. 6, there is shown a perspective view of an example of a forehead accessory 10. In the example depicted the ornamentation 14 and earpieces 12 are separate and attached at an attachment points 16. The attachment point in this example is lifted perpendicularly off of the earpieces 12. Ornamentation 14 here is a chain. Earpieces 12 here are comprised of arms and cushions.

Referring now to FIG. 7, there is shown a perspective view of an example of a forehead accessory 10. In the example depicted the ornamentation 14 and earpieces 12 are separate and attached at an attachment points 16. The attachment points in this example are openings in the earpieces. Ornamentation 14 here is a chain. Earpieces 12 here are comprised of arms and cushions. In this example the earpieces 12 sit on the user's ears as opposed to being wrapped around.

Referring now to FIG. 8, in this example the earpieces 12 and ornamentation 14 are one continuous piece and the body of the device 10 is angled between the earpieces 12 and the ornamentation 14 so that the ornamentation 14 is displayed on the person's forehead as opposed to being at the person's eyes.

The forehead accessory 10 can be any size to fit a user's forehead and head. The forehead accessory 10 can be made in child and adult sizes or any variety of sizes. According to one embodiment the forehead accessory 10 can be adjusted to fit a user. For example, the length and shape of earpieces 12 or ornamentation 14 can be adjusted.

The forehead accessory 10 can be 7 inches to 24 inches in length for size of forehead accessory. The forehead accessory 10 can be up to 6 inches wide and can have varying widths within one embodiment. The forehead accessory 10 can also stick above the forehead.

The forehead accessory 10 can be made using any materials suitable as should be known by those familiar with the art. Example of materials include but are not limited plastic, platinum, aluminum, gold, rose gold, bronze, silver, copper, leather, ribbon, any metal, etc. The forehead accessory 10 can be made of all one material or each part can be of different materials. For example, the earpieces 12 can be of one material while the ornamentation 14 can be of another material. The forehead accessory 10 can be any color such as but not limited to silver, gold, rose gold, bronze, or black. The forehead accessory 10 can be made of all one color or each part can be of different colors. For example, the earpieces 12 can be of one color while the ornamentation 14 can be of another color.

Claims

1. A forehead accessory, comprising:

a body having a first end, a middle portion, and a second end;

a right earpiece located on the first end of the body;

a left earpiece located on the second end of the body; and

an ornamentation located on the middle portion of the body.

2. The forehead accessory of claim 1, further comprising a second ornamentation.

3. The forehead accessory of claim 1, further comprising a bend in the body between the earpieces and ornamentation.

4. The forehead accessory of claim 1, further comprising a cushion on each of the earpieces.

5. A forehead accessory, comprising:

a first earpiece and a second earpiece each earpiece comprising an attachment point; and

an ornamentation with a first end and a second end wherein the first end is attached to the attachment point on the first earpiece and the second end is attached to the attachment point on the second earpiece.

6. The forehead accessory of claim 5, further comprising a second ornamentation.

7. The forehead accessory of claim 5, wherein the attachment point is a hole formed by the earpieces.

8. The forehead accessory of claim 5, wherein the attachment point comprises a hinge.

9. The forehead accessory of claim 5, wherein the attachment point is a magnet.

10. The forehead accessory of claim 5, wherein the attachment point comprises a lift.

11. The forehead accessory of claim 5, where in the first end and the second end of the ornamentation comprises a ring.

12. The forehead accessory of claim 5, further comprising a cushion on each of the earpieces.

13. The forehead accessory of claim 5, wherein the ornamentation is removable.

14. A forehead accessory system, comprising:

a first earpiece and a second earpiece each earpiece comprising an attachment point; and

a first ornamentation with a first end and a second end wherein the first end is removably attached to the attachment point on the first earpiece and the second end is removably attached to the attachment point on the second earpiece; and

a second ornamentation with a first end and a second end wherein the first end is removably attached to the attachment point on the first earpiece and the second end is removably attached to the attachment point on the second earpiece, such that the first ornamentation and second ornamentation can be attached to the attachment point separately or together.

15. The forehead accessory of claim 5, wherein the attachment point is a hole formed by the earpieces.

16. The forehead accessory of claim 5, wherein the attachment point comprises a hinge.

17. The forehead accessory of claim 5, wherein the attachment point is a magnet.

18. The forehead accessory of claim 5, wherein the attachment point comprises a lift.

19. The forehead accessory of claim 5, wherein the first ends and the second ends of the first and second ornamentations comprise a ring.

20. The forehead accessory of claim 5, further comprising a cushion on each of the earpieces.
