Adjustable and Detachable Underarm Shield Pads
A protective undergarment device comprising an undergarment base and a pair of underarm shield pads wherein each underarm shield pad is attachable to the inside of the upper edge of the undergarment base near the underarms by a set of hook and loop tape, snap fasteners, buttons, or other types of fasteners and closures that allow for the ability of the underarm shield pads to be adjusted onto or detached from the undergarment base.
The present invention relates to undergarments with underarm shield pads that are attachable, detachable, and adjustable in relation to the undergarment base.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONUnderarm shield pads serve to absorb perspiration from the armpits (also called underarms) and keep outer clothing dry and odor-free. Underarm shield pads have been sewn permanently onto an undergarment base, which does not provide options for the wearer to adjust or detach the underarm shield pads from the undergarment base for separate cleaning. The present invention provides underarm shield pads that are not only adjustable, but also detachable from the undergarment base. The undergarment base is an item of clothing worn beneath outer clothes, such as, but not limited to a bra, t-shirt, camisole, or other special types of undergarments. The underarm shield pads, which are usually round or oval but can be of any shape are attachable to undergarment base so that it is positioned directly underneath the arms when it is worn.
The ability to adjust the position of the underarm shield pads along the undergarment base, creating multiple positioning options is critical so that the pads are properly aligned underneath the wearer's arms to provide maximum coverage for the underarms. Detachability of the underarm shield pads from the undergarment base is important to allow the wearer to clean or wash the underarm shield pads separately from the undergarment base since it would need to be washed more often than the undergarment base.
The ability to detach the underarm shield pads from the undergarment base, reattach to it, and adjust the underarm shield pads on the undergarment base is by incorporating snap fasteners, buttons, hook and loop tape, or other types of fasteners and closures that enable the joining of each of the underarm shield pads directly onto each side of the undergarment base where the underarm shield pads would be aligned directly under the arms.
The description of the drawings are exemplifications of preferred embodiments and should not be construed as limitations on the scope of the present invention. The description explains how the underarm shield pads are detachable from the undergarment base and is also adjustable by means of hook and loop tape, snap fasteners, buttons, or other types of fasteners and closures when it is reattached and joined at the undergarment base so that the underarm shield pads are properly aligned under the wearer's arms.
