MULTIPLE WIG HEAD DISPLAY STORAGE HOLDER

Abstract

This present invention discloses a multiple wig head display storage holder for a plurality of wig or mannequin heads that secures on a post, tripod, stand and the like and includes a horizontally extending support frame having a first end and a second end, one or more holes disposed through the horizontally extending support frame that accept a vertically inserted post such as a wig tripod or wig stand clamp either at the center or the first end and second end of the horizontally extending support frame, a plurality of a blind hole disposed in the horizontally extending support frame, a plurality of a vertically protruding cylindrical member secured in the blind hole to accept a wig head or mannequin head allowing for a display and storage of a plurality of mannequin heads on a wig tripod, post, wig clamp, stand or the like.

Description

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention is in the field of displaying and storing wigs and mannequin heads and pertains particularly to an assembly for displaying a plurality of wigs or mannequin heads on a wig tripod, wig clamp, post, or stand.

DISCUSSION OF THE STATE OF THE ART

In the art of wig display and storage construction, wig stands or holders are used to hold a wig and mannequin head to display as well as preserve and maintain the style and shape of the artificial hair. Storing a wig properly is essential to extending the length of time the wig can be of use to a person. If not stored properly, a wig can lose the contoured shape of the hair line which covers the front of the hairline to the nape of the neck. In addition, a wig not properly stored can lose hair follicles thereby damaging the wig and rendering it useless. A wig can be a very expensive investment as some wigs are constructed of human hair costing thousands of dollars while others are made of synthetic hair that cost less. No matter the cost, owning a wig and wanting to preserve it justifies the need to store and display them in an effective manner to maintain their shape and good condition. It is not uncommon for a wig owner to own more than one wig.

Wig tripods and wig stand clamp assemblies include a stand component wherein a cylindrical member is secured vertically at the top of the stand that inserts into the base of a wig or mannequin head to hold the mannequin head. Both wig tripods and wig stand clamps are portable, allowing users to set them up in different locations such as in a prep room to groom them and then to a bedroom to store and display them. A wig tripod is height adjustable and can be set up anywhere there is floor space while a wig stand clamp needs to be secured to a flat horizontal surface making them both a great option to display a wig in a non-permanent site. They also allow an owner to support a single wig while the wig hair hangs freely to prevent bunching and tangling.

A challenge with these wig tripods and wig stand clamps is that they only hold a single wig or mannequin head. A user places the wig or mannequin head on the wig tripod or wig clamp and must remove the wig to display or store a different wig. This is not practical because a user that needs to display or store more than one wig currently has to use an additional wig tripod or wig clamp for each wig to be displayed or stored, which can be limited by space capacity. An owner who has 5 wigs would be required to have 5 wig tripods or 10 wig tripods if the owner has 10 wigs. Many residential users that wear wigs as well as commercial users that create wigs have more than one wig that needs to be displayed. Setting up multiple wig tripods takes up a large area of floor space as well as time to get each one positioned. Wig stands and shelves are often used by wig owners. However, these have limitations where the longer hair does not hang freely and bunches up or mangles creating tangles and damage over time. Wig owners need to store and maintain more than one wig in a manner that prevents tangling, matting, and bunching while preserving the shape, fit, and style.

Therefore, what is clearly needed is a portable wig or mannequin head holder that supports a plurality of wigs and is able to be quickly set up and solves the problems mentioned above.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The problem stated above is that an assembly to increase the capacity of wigs held on a wig tripod, wig clamp, or post is desirable, but the current wig tripods and clamps hold only one wig head. The inventor therefore considered the functional component of a wig tripod and wig clamp, looking for potential ways to support more than one wig.

The present inventor realized in an inventive moment while working and trying to take pictures of five wigs that an assembly holding a plurality of wigs that fits on a wig tripod would offer a significant improvement to the capacity and use of a wig tripod or wig clamp and help display and store wigs helping to preserve multiple wigs instead of just a single one. The inventor then constructed a unique assembly that allows a user to fit the assembly on a wig tripod and hold a plurality of wigs and mannequin heads within minutes. The results were a significant improvement in the ability to display and store multiple wig or mannequin heads while maintaining portability and the ability to adjust the height of the wig tripod.

Accordingly, in an embodiment of the present invention, a multiple wig head display storage holder is provided and includes a horizontally extending support frame having a first end and a second end, one or more holes disposed through the horizontally extending support frame that accept a vertically inserted post such as a wig tripod or wig stand clamp either at the center or the first end and second end of the horizontally extending support frame, a plurality of a blind hole disposed in the horizontally extending support frame, a plurality of a vertically protruding cylindrical member secured in the blind hole to accept a wig head or mannequin head allowing for a display and storage of a plurality of mannequin heads on a wig tripod or the like.

It is an objective of the present invention to solve the problem of a wig tripod or wig stand clamp being limited to one wig or mannequin head displayed and stored.

It is an objective of the present invention to solve the problem of a wig owner being able to transport multiple wigs simultaneously on the wig tripod instead of one at a time.

It is an objective of the present invention to solve the problem of needing to use increased floor space for setting up additional wig tripods when multiple heads need to be displayed or stored.

As such, those skilled in the art will appreciate that the conception, upon which this disclosure is based, may readily be utilized as a basis for the designing of other structures, methods and systems for carrying out the several purposes of the present invention. It is important, therefore, that the claims be regarded as including such equivalent constructions insofar as they do not depart from the spirit and scope of the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The inventor provides a unique wig and mannequin head display and storage assembly that enables a plurality of wigs and mannequin heads to be supported on a wig tripod, wig clamp, post, stand, or the like. The present invention is described in enabling detail in the following examples, which may represent more than one embodiment of the present invention.

FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a multiple wig head display storage holder according to an embodiment of the present invention. 101 is a horizontally extending support frame having a first end and a second end. In this example, a singular hole 102 accepts a vertically inserted post such as a wig tripod or wig stand clamp. A plurality of a vertically protruding cylindrical member 103 accepts a wig head or mannequin head to display and store wigs.

FIG. 2 is a perspective view of a multiple wig head display storage holder according to another embodiment of the present invention. This embodiment includes components that were previously introduced in FIG. 1. Those components previously introduced that have not changed in this example retain their original element numbers and are not reintroduced. The horizontally extending support frame 101 in this example has a plurality of holes 102 that accept a vertically inserted post such as a wig tripod or wig stand clamp.

This embodiment includes components that were previously introduced in FIG. 1. It further illustrates a wig tripod 301 accepted through the hole 102 and supporting the horizontally extending support frame 101 and accepting a wig head or mannequin head 701 above the horizontally extending support frame 101.

FIG. 9 illustrates a wig head or mannequin head 701 that is secured on the vertically protruding cylindrical member 103. It further illustrates a plurality of wig tripods 301 accepted through the plurality of holes 102 and supporting the horizontally extending support frame 101 and accepting a plurality of wig heads or mannequin heads 701 above the horizontally extending support frame 101.

It will be apparent to one with skill in the art that the multiple wig head display storage holder of the invention may be provided using some or all of the mentioned features and components without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention. It will also be apparent to the skilled artisan that the embodiments described above are specific examples of a single broader invention which may have greater scope than any of the singular descriptions taught. There may be many alterations made in the descriptions without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention.

Claims

1. A multiple wig head display storage holder for a plurality of wig or mannequin heads that secures on a wig tripod, wig clamp, post, stand and the like, comprising:

a horizontally extending support frame having a first end and a second end;

one or more holes disposed through the horizontally extending support frame that accepts a vertically inserted post such as a wig tripod either at the center or the first end and second end of the horizontally extending support frame;

a plurality of a blind hole disposed in the horizontally extending support frame;

a plurality of a vertically protruding cylindrical member secured in the blind hole to accept a wig head or mannequin head allowing for a display and storage of a plurality of mannequin heads on a wig tripod, wig clamp, stand, post, or the like;
