Decorative Covering for a Chain Link Fence Post
A decorative covering for a chain link fence post includes a first post cover, a second post cover, a plurality of left chain-link receiving openings, a plurality of right chain-link receiving openings, a left interlocking mechanism, and a right interlocking mechanism. The plurality of left chain-link receiving openings and the plurality of right chain-link receiving openings are oppositely positioned of each other about a sagittal plane of the first post cover to receive chain link fences that outwardly extends from the fence post. The plurality of left chain-link receiving openings terminally traverses into the first post cover. The plurality of right chain-link receiving openings terminally traverses into the first post cover so that the first post cover can extend beyond the chain link fences. The first and second post covers are attached to each other by the left and right interlocking mechanisms thus fully covering the fence post within.
The current application claims a priority to the U.S. Provisional Pat. Application Serial No. 63/286,412 filed on Dec. 6, 2021.
FIELD OF THE INVENTIONThe present invention relates to fence post covers. More specifically, the present invention is a decorative covering for a chain link fence post.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTIONFences provide endless utilities for designated surface area. The main functionality of the fence is to provide an enclosed area within the ground to be guarded, guided, surrounded, or protected. Fences has been utilized throughout humanity for many years as there are many different structures and types of fences. Well-known types of fences are chain link fences, wooden fences, polymer fences, and stone fences. From the aforementioned types of fences, chain link fences are widely popular among most of the consumers due to the affordability and the durability. However, the biggest drawback of the chain link fences is the unattractive appearance that most consumers do not approve. In other words, a chain link fence can look very aesthetically unappealing in a residence setting due to the industrial appearance and the exposed fence post.
An objective of the present invention is to provide a decorative covering for a chain link fence post. The present invention provides a two-piece covering apparatus that is used to cover the chain link fence post. More specifically, the two-piece covering apparatus has series of opening each side to engaged with the chain link panels that outwardly extend from the fence post. As a result, the present invention is able to fully cover the fence post thus providing a decorative appearance for traditional chain link fences.
All illustrations of the drawings are for the purpose of describing selected versions of the present invention and are not intended to limit the scope of the present invention.
The present invention provides a decorative covering for a chain link fence post to aesthetically upgrade the exposed fence post of a chain link fence. The present invention provides a two-piece apparatus so that the fence post of the chain link fence can be fully covered without having to remove the fence panels of the chain link fence. As shown in

Preferably, a L-shaped locking-clip is utilized as the second fastener 19, and a V-shaped locking-clip is utilized as the first fastener 18 so that the L-shaped locking-clip can be attached to the V-shaped locking-clip as shown in
It is important to note that the present invention can be designed to cover different embodiments of the chain link fences. More specifically, the present invention can be designed so that the plurality of left chain-link receiving openings 9 and the plurality of right chain-link receiving openings 10 are designed and spaced to accommodate for American standard wire mesh spacing from ⅜ inch to 3 ½ inch or European standard wire mesh spacings from 50 x 2.5 millimeter to 50 x 3.55/3.5 millimeters. Note that the listed dimensions are not intended to limit the present invention as any dimensions of chain link fence can be accommodated by the present invention. Furthermore, the present invention can optionally be used as support for attaching sidings and/or boards to cover the chain link fence.
Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed.
