Abstract

A disposable toilet seat cover constructed to slip over a toilet seat, a dispenser for the disposable toilet seat cover, and a toilet seat and toilet seat accessory for use with the disposable toilet seat cover disclosed herein is described.

Description

FIELD

Some implementations relate generally to disposable toilet seat covers, and, more particularly, to a disposable toilet seat cover constructed to slip over a toilet seat, a dispenser for the disposable toilet seat cover, and a toilet seat and toilet seat accessory for use with the disposable toilet seat cover disclosed herein.

BACKGROUND

Some conventional disposable toilet seat covers may be cumbersome or difficult to retrieve from a dispenser and to use on a toilet. Some conventional disposable toilet seat covers include a single layer of tissue-like paper that is design to lay on top of the toilet seat. These conventional covers are prone to slipping off the toilet seat before a user can use the toilet. Also, the conventional disposable toilet seat covers may not fully cover the toilet seat, leaving the toilet seat partially exposed and subject to skin contact by a user when using the toilet with the conventional toilet seat cover.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

FIG. 1 is a diagram showing a top view of an example disposable toilet seat cover 100 being slipped over a toilet seat 108 in accordance with some implementations. The disposable toilet seat cover 100 includes a dual-layer pocket portion 102, a tab 104, and an opening 106.

The dual-layer pocket portion can include a first material layer and a second material layer that are sealed together (e.g., on the three sides other than the side with the tab 104) to form a pocket that can slip over a toilet seat. The pocket portion 102 can have an opening formed by unsealed edges at the side where tab 104 is located. The opening 106 is configured to align with the opening of a toilet seat 108 and permit the toilet to be used.

FIG. 2 is a diagram showing a top view of an example disposable toilet seat cover pocket portion 102 slipped over a toilet seat 108 and in place for use in accordance with some implementations. In operation, a user can use the tab 104 to pull the pocket portion 102 over the toilet seat 108.

FIG. 3 is a diagram showing a side view of an example disposable toilet seat cover pocket portion 102 being slipped over a toilet seat 108 in accordance with some implementations. FIG. 3 also shows the toilet seat 108 being spaced apart from the toilet bowl 302 by accessory 304 formed from a flexible or compressible material so as to form a gap 306 between the toilet seat 108 and the toilet bowl 302 when a user is not seated on the toilet. This gap 306 permits the pocket portion 102 to be slipped over the toilet seat 108.

FIG. 4 is a diagram showing a side view of an example disposable toilet seat cover pocket portion 102 slipped over a toilet seat 108 and in place for use in accordance with some implementations.

FIG. 5A is a diagram showing a side view of an example disposable toilet seat cover pocket portion 102 being removed from a toilet seat 108 (e.g., using tab 104) in accordance with some implementations.

FIG. 5B is a diagram showing a side view of an example disposable toilet seat cover being disposed of in a toilet in accordance with some implementations.

FIG. 6 is a diagram showing a side view of an example toilet seat hinge 602 having a flexible or compressible member (within the hinge 602) configured to space the toilet seat 108 apart from the toilet bowl 302 to form a gap between the toilet seat 108 and the toilet bowl 302 to permit the disposable toilet seat cover pocket portion 102 to be slipped onto the toilet seat 108.

FIG. 7 is a diagram showing a side view of an example toilet seat 108 having a flexible accessory member 702 configured to space the toilet seat 108 apart from the toilet bowl 302 in accordance with some implementations. The hinge 704 in this version can be a standard hinge, where the spacing between the toilet seat 108 and the toilet bowl 302 is provided by the flexible or compressible accessory 702.

FIG. 8 is a diagram showing a side view of an example disposable toilet seat cover dispenser 802 constructed a plurality of disposable toilet seat covers 804 (e.g., a plurality of disposable toilet seat covers 100). The disposable toilet seat covers 804 in the dispenser 802 can be retrieved by a user using the tabs 104.

While some example implementations have been described in terms of a general embodiment with several specific example modifications, it is recognized that other modifications and variations of the embodiments described above are within the spirit and scope of the disclosed subject matter. Applicant intends to embrace any and all such modifications, variations and embodiments.

Claims

1. A disposable toilet seat cover comprising:

a first layer of material and a second layer of material, where the first layer of material and the second layer of material are sealed at one or more corresponding edges with at least one corresponding edge unsealed to form a pocket within the first layer of material and the second layer of material with the unsealed corresponding edges forming an opening for the pocket, wherein the pocket is contrasted to fit over a toilet seat; and

a tab formed on the first layer of material at the unsealed edge of the first layer of material,

wherein the first layer of material and the second layer of material each include a central opening formed to correspond to an opening in the toilet seat.

2. A disposable toilet seat cover system comprising:

a disposable toilet seat cover including: a first layer of material and a second layer of material, where the first layer of material and the second layer of material are sealed at one or more corresponding edges with at least one corresponding edge unsealed to form a pocket within the first layer of material and the second layer of material with the unsealed corresponding edges forming an opening for the pocket, wherein the pocket is contrasted to fit over a toilet seat; and a tab formed on the first layer of material at the unsealed edge of the first layer of material, wherein the first layer of material and the second layer of material each include a central opening formed to correspond to an opening in the toilet seat; and

a flexible member constructed to be installed between the toilet seat and a toilet bowl the toilet seat is attached to, wherein the flexible member is constructed to space the toilet seat above and apart from a top surface of the toilet bowl to permit the disposable toilet seat cover to slip onto the toilet seat.

3. A disposable toilet seat cover system comprising:

a disposable toilet seat cover including: a first layer of material and a second layer of material, where the first layer of material and the second layer of material are sealed at one or more corresponding edges with at least one corresponding edge unsealed to form a pocket within the first layer of material and the second layer of material with the unsealed corresponding edges forming an opening for the pocket, wherein the pocket is contrasted to fit over a toilet seat; and a tab formed on the first layer of material at the unsealed edge of the first layer of material, wherein the first layer of material and the second layer of material each include a central opening formed to correspond to an opening in the toilet seat; and

a hinge coupling the toilet seat to a toilet bowl the toilet seat is attached to, the hinge including a flexible member to space the toilet seat above and apart from a top surface of the toilet bowl to permit the disposable toilet seat cover to slip onto the toilet seat.
