A multilayered heat-resistant glove for steam ironing has nine layers. A first layer of cotton; a second layer of foam; a third layer of felt; a fourth layer of aluminum foil; a fifth layer of bubble wrap; a sixth layer of aluminum foil; a seventh layer of felt; an eighth layer of foam; a ninth layer of cotton; and an elastic loop configured to receive a finger, the elastic loop is coupled to the first layer.

CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS

This application claims priority from a U.S. Provisional Pat. Appl. No. 63/308,302 filed on Feb. 09, 2022, which is incorporated herein by reference in its entirety.

FIELD OF INVENTION

The present invention relates to a glove with enhanced heat barrier properties, and more particularly, the present invention relates to a multilayered glove for steam ironing.

BACKGROUND

Heat-resistant gloves are known in the art that are used for a variety of purposes, such as for removing hot articles from the Autoclave, Microwave Owens, Barbeque, and the like. Heat-resistant gloves are also widely used with a steamer to protect hands from hot steam and provide a steaming surface. The heat-resistant gloves used with steamers may also be waterproof to prevent penetration of steam that may burn the hands.

The known heat-resistant gloves suffer from one or more drawbacks. Heat-resistant gloves used with steamers are not used with irons and do not provide the required protection against the heat of a hot iron and its hot flashes. A need is appreciated for improved heat-resistant gloves especially suited for steam ironing.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The following presents a simplified summary of one or more embodiments of the present invention to provide a basic understanding of such embodiments. This summary is not an extensive overview of all contemplated embodiments and is intended to neither identify critical elements of all embodiments nor delineate the scope of any or all embodiments. Its sole purpose is to present some concepts of one or more embodiments in a simplified form as a prelude to the more detailed description that is presented later.

The principal object of the present invention is therefore directed to multilayered gloves for steam ironing that provides excellent protection against a hot steam iron and its hot flashes.

It is another object of the present invention that the multilayered gloves are comfortable to wear.

It is still another object of the present invention that the multilayered glove provides a flat surface for ironing.

It is yet another object of the present invention that the multilayered glove has a thinner profile.

In one aspect, disclosed is a heat-resistant glove for steam ironing, the heat-resistant glove consists of a first layer of cotton; a second layer of foam; a third layer of felt; a fourth layer of aluminum foil; a fifth layer of bubble wrap; a sixth layer of aluminum foil; a seventh layer of felt; an eighth layer of foam; a ninth layer of cotton; and an elastic loop configured to receive a finger, the elastic loop is coupled to the first layer.

In one implementation, the first layer, the second layer, and the third layer are laminated together to form a first laminate; the seventh layer, the eighth layer, and the ninth layer are laminated together to form a second laminate; the fourth layer, the fifth layer, and the sixth layer are laminated together to form a third laminate; the first laminate, the second laminate, and the third laminate are coupled together, wherein the third laminate is sandwiched between the first laminate and the second laminate.

In one implementation, the elastic loop is sewn to the first laminate. An exposed surface of the ninth layer is treated with water-resistant material, wherein the exposed surface of the ninth layer forms an ironing surface.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

Disclosed is a multilayered glove that can be worn on a hand for providing a flat surface for steam ironing and protecting the hand from any burns or hot flashes. The disclosed multilayered glove can provide excellent protection against burns and hot flashes. Moreover, the user may remain comfortable wearing the disclosed multilayered glove for long durations. The disclosed multilayered glove has heat-reflecting layers that allow keeping the inner surface of the multilayered glove cooler without thickening the glove. Thus, the disclosed multilayered glove has a thinner profile that is easier to wear and remains comfortable for long durations. The inner layers can be moisture-wicking which can absorb any sweat and keep the hand cool, thus making the disclosed multilayered glove more comfortable. The disclosed multilayered glove is more advantageous by having a bubble wrap layer that prevents hot flashes and provides excellent heat insulation. FIG. 1 shows a bottom layer that has an elastic loop 120 sewn to the bottom layer of the multilayered glove. The finger, such as a middle finger can be inserted into the elastic loop 120. The multilayered glove can be secured on a hand by inserting the middle finger into the elastic loop 120 which is on the sleeve 110 while the palm side of the hand can be in contact with the bottom layer of the multilayered glove. The exposed surface of the top layer can form a flat surface for ironing. A loop 130 can also be seen in FIG. 1 which can be used to hang the disclosed multilayered glove to support, such as a hook. The size of the multilayered glove is such that it has a bigger area for ironing as well as the hand is protected from hot flashes or direct contact with the iron. Thus, the hand can be completely shielded by the disclosed multilayered glove.

Referring to FIG. 2 is an exploded view of the disclosed multilayered glove. The disclosed multilayered glove 100 has a bottom layer 210 and a top layer 290. Seven more layers can be sandwiched between the bottom layer and the top layer. As shown in FIG. 2 the nine layers are arranged in an order that provides the characteristic advantages to the disclosed multilayered glove, such as extremely high heat resistance, protection against hot flashes, hot steam, sweat wicking, and the like. The disclosed multilayered glove 100 has a bottom layer 210 of cotton that is moisture-wicking and skin-friendly. The bottom layer may not be slippery, and the roughness provided by the cotton layer can keep the disclosed multilayered glove stable on the hand. Adjacent to the bottom layer can be a foam layer 220, followed by a felt layer 230, an aluminum foil layer 240, a bubble wrap layer 250, an aluminum foil layer 260, a felt layer 270, a foam layer 280, and the top layer 290 made from cotton.

The cotton layer forming the top and bottom layers can be pure cotton. The foam layers 220 and 280 can be made from polyurethane. The felt layers 230 and 270 can be made from polyester. These three layers i.e., the bottom layer 210, the foam layer 220, and the felt layer 230 can be laminated together. Similarly, the top layer 290, the foam layer 280, and the felt layer 270 can be laminated together. The middle two aluminum foil layer and the bubble wrap layer can be separately welded. The three laminates can then be put together using any known mechanism, such as bonding, sewing, and the like. Before coupling, the loop 120 can be sewn to the first laminate of layers 210, 220, and 230.

The loop or sleeve 120 can be made from elastic material and can be sewn to the bottom cotton layer. Preferably, the loop 120 can be sewn to three consecutive layers for strength. The loop can be sewn to the laminated three layers.

In one implementation, the top layer 290 can be treated with Teflon or can be subjected to any other water-resistant or water-repellent treatments. The water resistance of the top layer that comes in direct contact with steam can be an advantage and the cotton layer may not become soggy.

While the foregoing written description of the invention enables one of ordinary skill to make and use what is considered presently to be the best mode thereof, those of ordinary skill will understand and appreciate the existence of variations, combinations, and equivalents of the specific embodiment, method, and examples herein. The invention should therefore not be limited by the above-described embodiment, method, and examples, but by all embodiments and methods within the scope and spirit of the invention as claimed.

Claims

1. A heat-resistant glove for steam ironing, the heat-resistant glove consists of:

a first layer of cotton;
a second layer of foam;
a third layer of felt;
a fourth layer of aluminum foil;
a fifth layer of bubble wrap;
a sixth layer of aluminum foil;
a seventh layer of felt;
an eighth layer of foam;
a ninth layer of cotton; and
an elastic loop configured to receive a finger, the elastic loop is coupled to the first layer.

2. The heat-resistant glove according to claim 1, wherein the first layer, the second layer, and the third layer are laminated together to form a first laminate; the seventh layer, the eighth layer, and the ninth layer are laminated together to form a second laminate; the fourth layer, the fifth layer, and the sixth layer are laminated together to form a third laminate; the first laminate, the second laminate, and the third laminate are coupled together, wherein the third laminate is sandwiched between the first laminate and the second laminate.

3. The heat-resistant glove according to claim 2, wherein the elastic loop is sewn to the first laminate.

4. The heat-resistant glove according to claim 1, wherein an exposed surface of the ninth layer is treated with water-resistant material, wherein the exposed surface of the ninth layer forms an ironing surface.

5. A method for steam ironing, the method comprising:

providing a heat-resistant glove for steam ironing, the heat-resistant glove consists of: a first layer of cotton; a second layer of foam; a third layer of felt; a fourth layer of aluminum foil; a fifth layer of bubble wrap; a sixth layer of aluminum foil; a seventh layer of felt; an eighth layer of foam; a ninth layer of cotton; and an elastic loop configured to receive a finger, the elastic loop is coupled to the first layer.

The method according to claim 5, wherein the first layer, the second layer, and the third layer are laminated together to form a first laminate; the seventh layer, the eighth layer, and the ninth layer are laminated together to form a second laminate; the fourth layer, the fifth layer, and the sixth layer are laminated together to form a third laminate; the first laminate, the second laminate, and the third laminate are coupled together, wherein the third laminate is sandwiched between the first laminate and the second laminate.

7. The method according to claim 6, wherein the elastic loop is sewn to the first laminate.

8. The method according to claim 5, wherein an exposed surface of the ninth layer is treated with water-resistant material, wherein the exposed surface of the ninth layer forms an ironing surface.
