A piece of multi-wrap jewelry (1) constructed from an elongated cord (2) having an adjustable anchoring loop (5) formed by placing opposing ends of the elongated cord through a slide (6) while crossing the elongated cord over itself. Loop fasteners (9) are located on opposing ends of the elongated cord to provide attachment points for clasps (11) and so forth and to allow an individual to adjust the length of the elongated cord.

CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS

This is a continuation of U.S. application Ser. No. 16/394,375, filed on Apr. 25, 2019, which is pending. The patent application identified above is incorporated herein by reference in its entirety to provide continuity of disclosure.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

This invention relates to bracelets and similar articles of jewelry, and more particularly, a piece of multi-wrap jewelry having an anchoring loop that allows the multi-wrap jewelry to be wrapped around the wrist and forearm in a manner that gives the appearance of multiple bracelets being spaced out apart on the wrist and forearm or other body part if desired.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Multi-wrap jewelry is typically worn as a bracelet and constructed from one or more elongated cords having clasps on opposing ends for securing the bracelet around a wearer's wrist. The elongated cord is wrapped around a wearer's wrist multiple times to provide the appearance of multiple bracelets being worn.

However, the wrapped sections of the elongated cord eventually bunch together causing the multi-wrap jewelry to look messy. This bunching requires that the elongated cord be constantly repositioned around the wearer's wrist.

Another disadvantage of conventional multi-wrap jewelry is the limited adjustability with regard to size. Conventional multi-wrap jewelry uses fixed clasps that do not allow a user to adjust the length of the cord. This limits the functionality of the piece as a user is not able to adjust the length of the piece so it may be worn on other body parts, such as on the ankle, forearm, upper arm or as a necklace. This also limits the ability of the owner of a piece of multi-wrap jewelry to share or lend the piece of jewelry to anyone not having the same size as the owner.

Therefore, a need exists for a piece of multi-wrap jewelry having an anchoring loop that allows the wrap jewelry to be worn on the wrist and forearm in a manner that gives the appearance of multiple bracelets being spaced out apart on the wrist and forearm or other body part if desired and provides for size adjustability.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The primary object of the present invention is to provide a piece of multi-wrap jewelry having an anchoring loop that allows the multi-wrap jewelry to be worn on the wrist and forearm in a manner that gives the appearance of multiple bracelets being spaced out apart on the wrist and forearm or other body part if desired.

An additional object of the present invention is to provide a piece of multi-wrap jewelry wherein the length of the piece may be easily adjusted to allow the piece to be worn on various parts of the body in a loose or snug manner and/or to be a “one size fits all” jewelry for all individuals.

The present invention fulfills the above and other objects by providing a piece of multi-wrap jewelry constructed from an elongated cord having an adjustable anchoring loop formed by placing opposing ends of the elongated cord through a slide while crossing the elongated cord over itself.

Loop fasteners are located on opposing ends of the elongated cord. A first loop fastener is formed by folding a first end of the elongated cord through a tubular-shaped slide, folding the first end over and placing it back through the slide in the opposite direction, thereby making a size adjustable loop. A clasp is located on the first loop fastener prior to placing the first end of the elongated cord back through the slide. A second loop fastener is preferably located on a second end of the elongated cord and may have a clasp located thereon.

To wear the multi-wrap jewelry of the present invention, the anchoring loop may be placed over a forearm below the elbow and tightened using the slide. The leftover slack of the opposing ends of the cord may then be wrapped around the forearm descending toward the hand. The anchoring loop prevents the cord and wrapped sections of the cord from sliding down the forearm and bunching on the wrist, thereby giving the appearance of multiple bracelets being worn and spaced apart on the forearm. The bracelet of the present invention may also be worn on other body parts, such as the leg or upper arm.

The above and other objects, features and advantages of the present invention should become even more readily apparent to those skilled in the art upon a reading of the following detailed description in conjunction with the drawings wherein there is shown and described illustrative embodiments of the invention.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

For purposes of describing the preferred embodiment, the terminology used in reference to the numbered accessories in the drawings is as follows:

With reference to FIG. 1, a top view of a piece of multi-wrap jewelry 1 of the present invention laid flat and not in use is illustrated. The piece of multi-wrap jewelry 1 comprises an elongated cord 2 having a first end 3, a second end 4 and an adjustable anchoring loop located between the first end 3 and the second end 4. The elongated cord 2 may comprise a single strand, as illustrated herein, or multiple strands. The anchoring loop 5 is formed by placing the first end 3 of the elongated cord 4 through a first opening 7 of a tubular-shaped slide 6 and then placing the second end 4 of the elongated cord 2 through a second opening 8 of the tubular-shaped slide 6, thereby crossing the elongated cord 4 over itself. The tubular-shaped slide 6 allows a user to adjust the size or diameter of the anchoring loop 5 and the location of the anchoring loop 5 on the elongated cord 2.

Loop fasteners 9 are located on the opposing first end 3 and second end 4 of the elongated cord 2.

A first loop fastener 10 is formed by placing the first end 3 of the elongated cord 2 through at least one tubular-shaped slide 6, folding the first end over and placing it back through the at least one tubular-shaped slide 6 in an opposite direction, thereby making a size adjustable loop fastener 9. A clasp 11, as illustrated in FIG. 2, and/or other articles may be placed on the first loop fastener 10 prior to placing the first end 3 of the elongated cord 2 back through the tubular-shaped slide 6. A stop 13, such as a knot, may be located on the first end 3 of the elongated cord 2 to prevent the second end 4 from sliding back though the at least one tubular-shaped slide 6.

The piece of multi-wrap jewelry 1 may further comprise a second loop fastener 12 located on the second end 4 of the elongated cord 2 and formed by placing the second end 4 of the elongated cord 2 through at least one tubular-shaped slide 6, folding the first end over and placing it back through the at least one tubular-shaped slide 6 in an opposite direction, thereby making a size adjustable loop fastener 9. A clasp 11, such as a releasable hook or other connector, may be placed on the first loop fastener 10 prior to placing the second end 4 of the elongated cord 2 back through the tubular-shaped slide 6. A stop 13, such as a knot, may be located on the second end 4 of the elongated cord 2 to prevent the second end 4 from sliding back though the at least one tubular-shaped slide 6.

Loop fasteners 9 may be located on the elongated cord without the anchoring loop to create a size adjustable piece of multi-wrap jewelry 1. The loop fasteners 9 allow an individual to adjust the size of the elongated cord 2 to accommodate the number of times the elongated cord 2 is wrapped around a body part and/or to the size of the body part.

As illustrated in FIGS. 2-4, exemplary views of a piece of multi-wrap jewelry 1 of the present invention being worn are illustrated. To wear the multi-wrap jewelry 1 of the present invention, the anchoring loop 5 may be placed over a forearm below the elbow and tightened using the tubular-shaped slide 6. Leftover slack of the opposing ends of the cord may then be wrapped around the forearm descending toward the hand. The first end 3 and second end 4 of the elongated cord 2 may then be attached to each other via the first loop fastener 10, clasp 11 and second loop fastener 12. The anchoring loop 5 prevents the cord and wrapped sections of the elongated cord 2 from sliding down the forearm and bunching on the wrist, thereby giving the appearance of multiple bracelets being worn and spaced apart on the forearm and wrist. The present invention may also be worn on other body parts, such as the leg, upper arm and so forth. The elongated cord 2 may be decorated with beads, jewelry and other adornments.

With reference to FIG. 5, a top view of a piece of multi-wrap jewelry 1 of the present invention laid flat and having a first loop fastener 10 located on a first end 3 of elongated cord 2 and a stop 13 located on a second end 4 of the elongated cord 2 is illustrated. Alternatively, a clasp 11 may be locate on the second end 4 of the elongated cord 2. The first loop fastener 10 is formed by placing the first end 3 of the elongated cord 2 through at least one tubular-shaped slide 6, folding the first end over and placing it back through the at least one tubular-shaped slide 6 in an opposite direction, thereby making a size adjustable loop fastener 9.

A stop 13, such as a knot, may be located on the first end 3 of the elongated cord 2 to prevent the first end 3 from sliding back though the at least one tubular-shaped slide 6.

With reference to FIG. 6, a top view of a piece of multi-wrap jewelry 1 of the present invention laid flat and having a first loop fastener 10 located on a first end 3 of elongated cord 2 and second loop fastener 12 located on a second end 4 of the elongated cord 2 with no anchoring loop 5 is illustrated.

The first loop fastener 10 is formed by placing the first end 3 of the elongated cord 2 through at least one tubular-shaped slide 6, folding the first end over and placing it back through the at least one tubular-shaped slide 6 in an opposite direction, thereby making a size adjustable loop fastener 9. A stop 13, such as a knot, may be located on the first end 3 of the elongated cord 2 to prevent the first end 3 from sliding back though the at least one tubular-shaped slide 6. A clasp 11 is attached to either loop fastener 10 or 12 in order that the elongated cord 2 when it is wrapped around a wrist or other body extension.

The second end 4 of the elongated cord 2 and formed by placing the second end 4 of the elongated cord 2 through at least one tubular-shaped slide 6, folding the first end over and placing it back through the at least one tubular-shaped slide 6 in an opposite direction, thereby making a size adjustable loop fastener 9. A stop 13, such as a knot, may be located on the second end 4 of the elongated cord 2 to prevent the second end 4 from sliding back though the at least one tubular-shaped slide 6.

It is to be understood that while a preferred embodiment of the invention is illustrated, it is not to be limited to the specific form or arrangement of parts herein described and shown. It will be apparent to those skilled in the art that various changes may be made without departing from the scope of the invention and the invention is not to be considered limited to what is shown and described in the specification and drawings.

Claims

1. A piece of multi-wrap jewelry comprising:

an elongated cord having a first end, a second end and an adjustable anchoring loop located between the first end and the second end;
said anchoring loop being formed by placing the first end of the elongated cord through a first opening of a tubular-shaped slide and then placing the second end of the elongated cord through a second opening of the tubular-shaped slide, thereby crossing the elongated cord over itself;
wherein said tubular-shaped slide allows a user to adjust the size or diameter of the anchoring loop and the location of the anchoring loop on the elongated cord between the first end and second end thereof; and
a clasp located on the first end of the elongated cord.

2. The piece of multi-wrap jewelry of claim 1 further comprising:

a loop fastener located on the first end of the elongated cord wherein said loop fastener is formed by placing the first end of the elongated cord through a second tubular-shaped slide, folding the first end over and placing it back through the second tubular-shaped slide in an opposite direction.

3. The piece of multi-wrap jewelry of claim 2 further comprising:

a loop fastener located on the second end of the elongated cord wherein said loop fastener is formed by placing the second end of the elongated cord through a third tubular-shaped slide, folding the second end over and placing it back through the third tubular-shaped slide in an opposite direction.

4. The piece of multi-wrap jewelry of claim 2 further comprising:

a stop located on the first end of the elongated cord to prevent the first end from sliding back through the second tubular-shaped slide.

5. The piece of multi-wrap jewelry of claim 3 further comprising:

a stop located on the second end of the elongated cord to prevent the second end from sliding back through the third tubular-shaped slide.

6. A piece of multi-wrap jewelry comprising:

an elongated cord having a first end, a second end and an adjustable anchoring loop located between the first end and the second end; said anchoring loop being formed by placing the first end of the elongated cord through a first opening of a tubular-shaped slide and then placing the second end of the elongated cord through a second opening of the tubular-shaped slide, thereby crossing the elongated cord over itself; wherein said tubular-shaped slide allows a user to adjust the size or diameter of the anchoring loop and the location of the anchoring loop on the elongated cord between the first end and second end thereof; and a loop fastener located on the first end of the elongated cord wherein said loop fastener is formed by placing the first end of the elongated cord through a second tubular-shaped slide, folding the first end over and placing it back through the second tubular-shaped slide in an opposite direction.

7. The piece of multi-wrap jewelry of claim 6 further comprising:

a loop fastener located on the second end of the elongated cord wherein said loop fastener is formed by placing the second end of the elongated cord through a third tubular-shaped slide, folding the second end over and placing it back through the third tubular-shaped slide in an opposite direction.

8. The piece of multi-wrap jewelry of claim 6 further comprising:

a stop located on the first end of the elongated cord to prevent the first end from sliding back through the second tubular-shaped slide.

9. The piece of multi-wrap jewelry of claim 7 further comprising:

a stop located on the second end of the elongated cord to prevent the second end from sliding back through the third tubular-shaped slide.

10. The piece of multi-wrap jewelry of claim 6 further comprising:

a clasp located on the loop fastener located on the first end of the elongated cord.

11. A piece of multi-wrap jewelry comprising:

an elongated cord having a first end, a second end; a loop fastener located on the first end of the elongated cord wherein said loop fastener is formed by placing the first end of the elongated cord through a second tubular-shaped slide, folding the first end over and placing it back through the second tubular-shaped slide in an opposite direction; and
a loop fastener located on the second end of the elongated cord wherein said loop fastener is formed by placing the second end of the elongated cord through a third tubular-shaped slide, folding the second end over and placing it back through the third tubular-shaped slide in an opposite direction.

12. The piece of multi-wrap jewelry of claim 11 further comprising:

a stop located on the first end of the elongated cord to prevent the first end from sliding back through the second tubular-shaped slide.

13. The piece of multi-wrap jewelry of claim 11 further comprising:

a stop located on the second end of the elongated cord to prevent the second end from sliding back though the third tubular-shaped slide.

14. The piece of multi-wrap jewelry of claim 11 further comprising:

a clasp located on the loop fastener located on the first end of the elongated cord.

15. The piece of multi-wrap jewelry of claim 11 further comprising:

an adjustable anchoring loop located between the first end and the second end of the elongated cord;
said an anchoring loop being formed by placing the first end of the elongated cord through a first opening of a tubular-shaped slide and then placing the second end of the elongated cord through a second opening of the tubular-shaped slide, thereby crossing the elongated cord over itself; and wherein said tubular-shaped slide allows a user to adjust the size or diameter of the anchoring loop and the location of the anchoring loop on the elongated cord between the first end and second end thereof.
