DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The structure and technical features of the present invention will be detailedly described hereunder by three embodiments and accompany drawings. As shown in FIGS. 1-2, a dismantlable sofa 1 provided in accordance with a first embodiment of the present invention is composed of a base mount 10, two back supporting frames 20. two armrest frames 24, two seating cushions 28. two back supporting cushions 30. and two armrest cushions 32.

The base mount 10 is composed of a first base frame 12 and a second base frame 15 detachably assembled with the first base frame 12. Both first and second base frames 12 and 15 are shaped like a flat rectangular frame having a similar shape and have a first length d1 and a first width w1 smaller than the first length d1. As shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, the first base frame 12 has two insertion posts 13, and the second base frame 15 has two connection holes 16 into which the two insertion posts 13 are detachably and respectively inserted such that the first and second base frames 12 and 15 are connected with each other. Further, the base mount 10 comprises two stand posts 18 and four legs 19. The two stand posts 18 are located at the connecting portions between the first and second base frames 12 and 15. The stand post 18 is provided with an upwardly extending threaded shank 181. The insertion post 13 of the first base frame 12 is provided with a threaded hole 14, and the second base frame 15 has a through hole 17 in alignment with the threaded hole 14. The threaded shank 181 is inserted through the through hole 17 and then screwingly engaged into the threaded hole 14. In this way, the stand post 18 not only supports the first and second base frames 12 and 15 but also fastens the first and second base frames 12 and 15 together. The four legs 19 are mounted to four corners of the base mount 10 respectively to support the base mount 10 at a predetermined height.

The two back supporting frames 20 are detachably mounted at a rear side 101 of the base mount 10. The detachable structure may have various designs. In this embodiment, the two back supporting frames 20 are shaped like a flat rectangular frame having a similar shape and each have a second length d2 and a second width w2 smaller than the second length d2. The bottom side 21 of each back supporting frame 20 is provided with two pins 22 which are insertable into the two pin holes 122 at the rear side 121 of the first base frame 12 or the two pin holes 152 at the rear side 151 of the second base frame 15. By means of the weights of the two back supporting frames 20, the two back supporting frames 20 can be stably connected with the base mount 10. To dismantle the back supporting frame 20 from the base mount 10, the user only needs to upwardly take the back supporting frame 20 without the need of using any tools.

The two armrest frames 24 are detachably mounted at lateral sides 102, i.e., left and right sides, of the base mount 10. The detachable structure may have various designs. In this embodiment, the two armrest frames 24 are shaped like flat rectangular frames having a similar shape and each have a third length d3 and a third width w3 smaller than the third length d3. The bottom side 25 of each armrest frame 24 is provided with two pins 26 which are insertable into the two pin holes 124 at the left side 123 of the first base frame 12 or the two pin holes 154 at the right side 153 of the second base frame 15. By means of the weights of the two armrest frames 24, the two armrest frames 24 can be stably connected with the base mount 10. To dismantle the armrest frame 24 from the base mount 10, the user only needs to upwardly take the armrest frame 24 without the need of using any tools.

The two seating cushions 28 are detachably disposed on a top side 103 of the base mount 10. The detachable structure may have various designs. In this embodiment, the two seating cushions 28 are directly placed on the base mount 10. However, they can be fastened with the base mount 10 by hook-and-loop fasteners or other fastening ways. The seating cushion 28 is made by a foam core encased by a fabric cover, such that the seating cushion 28 is soft and compressible in its volume.

The two back supporting cushions 30 are detachably disposed on front sides 23 of the back supporting frames 20, respectively. The detachable structure may have various designs. In this embodiment, the two back supporting cushions 30 are directly placed on the base mount 10 to lean on the two supporting frames 20. However, they can be fastened with the back supporting frames 20 by hook-and-loop fasteners or other fastening ways. The back supporting cushion 30 is made by a foam core encased by a fabric cover, such that it is soft and compressible in its volume.

The two armrest cushions 32 detachably covers on the two armrest frames 24, respectively. The detachable structure may have various designs. In this embodiment, each armrest cushion 32 has an accommodation 34 with an opening 33 facing downwardly, such that the armrest frame 24 can be inserted into the accommodation 34 of the armrest cushion 32 via the opening 33. That is, the armrest cushion 32 is directly placed on the armrest frame 24 to encase the armrest frame 24 therein. The armrest cushion 32 is made by a foam core encased by a fabric cover, such that it is soft and compressible in its volume.

With the above-illustrated structural features, the parts of the dismantlable sofa 1 can be conveniently and quickly assembled with and dismantled from each other by the user himself/herself with simple tools.

Further, the packing assembly 2 of the dismantlable sofa 1 further provides the advantages of small size and convenience of transportation and storage. As shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, after the parts of the sofa 1 have been dismantled from each other, the first base frame 12, the second base frame 15, the two back supporting frames 20 and the two armrest frames 24 are parallel arranged and stacked to collectively form a lamination unit 36 in a way that the first base frame 12 and the second base frame 15 are arranged parallel to and spaced from each other, and the back supporting frames 20 and the armrest frames 24 are placed between the first and second base frames 12 and 15. Further, one seating cushion 28 and one back supporting cushion 30 are collectively compressed and rolled to form a cushion roll 38, the other seating cushion 28 and the other back supporting cushion 30 are collectively compressed and rolled to form another cushion roll 38, and the two armrest cushions 32 are collectively compressed and rolled to form a third cushion roll 38. These cushion rolls 38 thus obtained are then placed on the bottom side 37 of the lamination unit 36. and the two stand posts 38 and the four legs 39 are placed into the internal spaces inside the lamination unit 36, and then all the parts are put into a box 40. By using the box 40 to receive the base mount 10, the two back supporting frames 20, the two armrest frames 24 and the cushion rolls 38 therein, the packing assembly 2 of the dismantlable sofa 1 is done completely.

Since the second length d2 of the back supporting frame 20 and the third length d3 of the armrest frame 24 are both smaller than the first length d1 of the first base frame 12 and the second width w2 of the back supporting frame 20 and the third width w3 of the armrest frame 24 are both smaller than the first width w1 of the first base frame 12, the overall length and width of the lamination unit 36 will be respectively equal to the first length d1 and the first width w1, the length of each cushion roll 38 will be approximately equal to the first width w1, and the sum of the diameters of the three cushion rolls 38 will be approximately equal to the first length d1 when the two back supporting frames 20 and the two armrest frames 24 are clamped between the first and second base frames 12 and 15. As a result, all parts of the dismantlable sofa 1 can be stacked to form like a cube and then placed into a normal cubic box 40, thereby minimizing the volume of the packing assembly 2. This design is totally different from the design of huge packaging volume of traditional sofas, and not only greatly reduces the volume of the sofa packaging, but also significantly reduces transportation and storage costs, thereby achieving the objective of the present invention.

Based on the technical features of the present invention, various modifications to the dismantlable sofa 1 and its packing assembly 2 may be made. For example, FIGS. 6-8 show a dismantlable sofa 1a according to a second embodiment of the present invention, which is basically the same in structure as the dismantlable sofa 1 of the first embodiment, expect that the first base frame 12a and the second base frame 15a are not connected with each other by the associated insertion post 13 and the connection hole 16 but by two bridging brackets 104. Each bridging bracket 104 has two ends pivotally connected with the first base frame 12a and the second base frame 15a, respectively. As a result, the first and second base frames 12a and 15a are connected with each other and pivotally foldable relative to each other. Further, the stand posts 18 are screwingly threaded into the bridging brackets 104, respectively. After the base mount 10a is folded, a space is still left between the first and second base frames 12a and 15a to receive the back supporting frames 20a, the armrest frames 24a and other parts. Further, because the first base frame 12a needs not to provide the insertion posts 13, the first width w1 of the first base frame 12a can be designed as being shorter than that of the first base frame 12 of the first embodiment, thereby further reducing the packaging volume of the packing assembly 2a of the dismantlable sofa 1a.

FIGS. 9-11 show a dismantlable sofa 1b according to a third embodiment of the present invention, which is basically the same in structure as the dismantlable sofa 1a (two seater sofa) of the second embodiment, expect that the sofa 1b of this embodiment is designed as being a three seater sofa having a wider base mount 10b composed of first and second base frames 12b and 15b, three seating cushions 28 and three back supporting cushions 30. Further, there will be four cushion rolls 38 formed by compressing and rolling the cushions. As shown in FIG. 11, one cushion roll 38 is arranged perpendicular to the other three cushion rolls, such that all parts can be put into the box 40b with optimal space arrangement to form a packing assembly 2b that can be conveniently transported and stored. In another embodiment, the dismantlable sofa of the present application may be configured as being a four or mor seater sofa.

Furthermore, the base mount 10 may be configured as having an integral structure without having two or more base frames, and the stand posts 18 may be connected with the base mount 10 by anchoring connection, embedding connection or other ways. Moreover, the cushion roll 38 may be formed by compressing and rolling different parts, such as compressing and rolling two back supporting cushions 30, two seating cushions 28 or a combination of two or more of various cushions. Except the bottom side 37 of the lamination unit 36. the cushion rolls 38 may be placed at other lateral sides, such as the top side, of the lamination unit 36 in a parallel or perpendicular manner, and the order where the parts are stacked one after another to form the lamination unit 36 may be changed in accordance with actual need. To reduce the volumes of the cushion rolls 38, the vertical back supporting frame 20 may be replaced by an inclined back supporting frame so as to reduce the volume of the lower half of the back supporting cushion 30, i.e., the volume of the part used for supporting a user’s waist. Alternately, the width of the armrest frame 24 may be increased such that the armrest cushion 32 can be made thinner. As such, the armrest cushion 32 needs not to be compressed and rolled but to directly cover on the armrest frame 24 during packing. Such variations are not to be regarded as a departure from the spirit and scope of the invention, and all such modifications as would be obvious to one skilled in the art are intended to be included within the scope of the following claims.
