DOWN ROD HANGER SYSTEM OF CEILING FAN

A down rod hanger system of a ceiling fan is disclosed. The down rod hanger system includes a down rod, a hanger ball, a hanger bracket that can be fixed to a pitched roof, and a canopy. The hanger ball is fixedly connected to the down rod. The hanger bracket has an accommodating groove to accommodate the hanger ball. The canopy is configured to cover an outside of the hanger bracket. The canopy has an aperture corresponding to an opening of the hanger bracket and the down rod. The canopy further has a guide hole extending downward from the aperture for the down rod to be displaced and extend out of the guide hole and the aperture. Through the arrangement of the guide hole, the ceiling fan can be mounted to a pitched roof with a certain angle of inclination and a larger angle of inclination.

Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a ceiling fan, and more particularly, to a down rod hanger system of a ceiling fan for the ceiling fan to be mounted to a pitched roof

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

A conventional ceiling fan hanger device is provided on a ceiling fan. The conventional ceiling fan hanger device includes a hanger bracket to be fixed to a pitched roof, a hanger ball, a down rod, and a canopy. The hanger bracket has an accommodating groove therein. The hanger ball is pivotally connected in the accommodating groove. One end of the down rod is fixedly connected to the ceiling fan, and the other end of the down rod is inserted through the hanger ball. A positioning pin is provided and inserted through the down rod and the hanger ball, so that the down rod and the hanger ball are connected. The canopy covers the outside of the hanger bracket. The bottom of the canopy has an opening, so that the down rod can be inserted through the opening. Thus, the ceiling fan can be mounted to the pitched roof.

When the ceiling fan hanger device is in use, the down rod can only be displaced within the opening. The movement distance of the down rod is limited, so the ceiling fan can only be mounted to a pitched roof with a certain angle of inclination, causing inconvenience in use. Accordingly, the inventor of the present invention has devoted himself based on his many years of practical experiences to solve these problems.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The primary object of the present invention is to provide a down rod hanger system of a ceiling fan for the ceiling fan to be mounted to a pitched roof with a certain angle of inclination and a larger angle of inclination.

In order to achieve the aforesaid object, a down rod hanger system of a ceiling fan is provided. The ceiling fan has a ceiling fan body. The down rod hanger system comprises a down rod, a hanger ball, a hanger bracket, and a canopy. The down rod has a first end and a second end. The first end is connected to the ceiling fan body. The down rod is arranged vertically. The hanger ball is fixedly connected to the second end of the down rod. The hanger bracket is fixed under a pitched roof. The hanger bracket includes an accommodating groove, a positioning hole, and a positioning screw. The hanger ball is pivotally connected in the accommodating groove. One side of the accommodating groove, close to the down rod, is provided with an opening corresponding to the hanger ball and the down rod. The down rod is pivotable relative to the opening through the hanger bracket and the hanger ball. The positioning hole is defined in a side wall of the accommodating groove of the hanger bracket corresponding to the hanger ball. The positioning hole corresponds to the positioning screw. The canopy is fixedly connected to the hanger bracket. The canopy is configured to cover an outside of the hanger bracket. The canopy has an aperture corresponding to the opening and the down rod. The canopy further has a guide hole extending downward from the aperture. The guide hole corresponds to the down rod for the down rod to be displaced and extend out of the guide hole and the aperture.

In the down rod hanger system of the ceiling fan provided by the present invention, when in use, the down rod is inserted through the guide hole and the aperture, so that the down rod can be displaced in the guide hole and the aperture. Therefore, through the arrangement of the guide hole, the ceiling fan can be mounted to a pitched roof with a certain angle of inclination and a larger angle of inclination, thereby increasing the convenience in use.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

Embodiments of the present invention will now be described, by way of example only, with reference to the accompanying drawings.

FIG. 1 is a perspective view according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 2 is an exploded view according to the preferred embodiment of the present invention. The present invention discloses a down rod hanger system 100 of a ceiling fan 200 for a pitched roof. The ceiling fan 200 has a ceiling fan body 210. The down rod hanger system 100 comprises a down rod 10, a hanger ball 20, a hanger bracket 30, and a canopy 40.

The down rod 10 allows wires to pass through. The down rod 10 has a first end 11 and a second end 12. The first end 11 is fixedly connected to the ceiling fan body 210. The second end 12 of the down rod 10 is radially formed with two opposite support holes 13. A support rod 14 is insertedly connected to the support holes 13. The down rod 10 has an axis 15. The down rod 10 is arranged vertically.

FIG. 3 is a perspective view of the hanger ball according to the preferred embodiment of the present invention. The hanger ball 20 is fixedly connected to the second end 12 of the down rod 10. The hanger ball 20 has a through axial hole 21. The down rod 10 is inserted through the axial hole 21. Two opposite sides of the top edge of the inner wall of the axial hole 21 are respectively recessed outwardly from top to bottom to form engaging grooves 22. The engaging grooves 22 correspond to the support holes 13. Two ends of the support rod 14 are engaged in the engaging grooves 22, respectively. The outer wall of the hanger ball 20 is recessed inwardly to form a groove 23. The side wall of the axial hole 21 of the hanger ball 20 is formed with a locking hole 24 corresponding to the down rod 10 for a down rod screw 25 to secure the down rod 10. The hanger ball 20 further has a protruding portion 26. As shown in FIG. 7, the hanger ball 20 further comprises a first arc portion 271 and a second arc portion 272. The direction of the first arc portion 271 and the second arc portion 272 corresponds to the direction of the groove 23. The arc length of the first arc portion 271 adjacent to the guide hole 42 is less than that of the second arc portion 272.

FIG. 4 is a perspective view of the hanger bracket according to the preferred embodiment of the present invention. The hanger bracket 30 is fixed under a pitched roof 220. The hanger bracket 30 includes an accommodating groove 31, a positioning hole 32, and a positioning screw 33. The hanger ball 20 is pivotally connected to the accommodating groove 31. One side of the accommodating groove 31, close to the down rod 10, is provided with an opening 34 corresponding to the hanger ball 20 and the down rod 10. Through the hanger bracket 30 and the hanger ball 20, the down rod 10 is pivotable relative to the opening 34. The down rod 10 is inserted in the opening 34. The diameter of the opening 34 is less than the diameter of the hanger ball 20 for the protruding portion 26 of the hanger ball 20 and the down rod 10 to extend out of the opening 34. The hanger bracket 30 has a down rod opening 35 corresponding to the down rod 10. The hanger bracket 30 has a hanger ball opening 36 corresponding to the hanger ball 20. The hanger ball opening 36 is in communication with the opening 34 through the down rod opening 35. The side wall of the accommodating groove 31 of the hanger bracket 30, corresponding to the hanger ball 20, is provided with the positioning hole 32. The positioning hole 32 corresponds to the positioning screw 33. The positioning hole 32 and the positioning screw 33 correspond to the groove 23 of the hanger ball 20 for the positioning screw 33 to guide the hanger ball 20. Two locking portions 37 extend laterally from two sides of the upper edge of the hanger bracket 30. The locking portions 37 each have a first locking hole 38 for locking the locking portions 37 to the pitched roof 220. The bottom of the hanger bracket 30 is formed with a plurality of second locking holes 39 close to the opening 34.

The canopy 40 is fixedly connected to the hanger bracket 30. The canopy 40 is configured to cover the outside of the hanger bracket 30. The canopy 40 has an aperture 41 corresponding to the opening 34 and the down rod 10 for the protruding portion 26 of the hanger ball 20 and the down rod 10 to extend out of the aperture 41. The canopy 40 has a guide hole 42 extending downward from the aperture 41. The guide hole 42 corresponds to the down rod 10 for the down rod 10 to be displaced and extend out of the guide hole 42 and the aperture 41. The guide hole 42 is gradually reduced downward. The bottom of the guide hole 42 is provided with a support portion 43. The support portion 43 is configured to abut against the down rod 10. When the support portion 43 abuts against the down rod 10, the included angle between the axis 15 of the down rod 10 and the pitched roof 220 is greater than 150 degrees and less than 180 degrees, that is, the included angle between the pitched roof 220 and the horizontal direction is greater than 60 degrees and less than 90 degrees. The included angle between the pitched roof 220 and the horizontal direction may be at most 60 degrees, which is adapted for the pitched roof 220 with a larger angle of Inclination. The positioning hole 32 and the positioning screw 33 correspond to the groove 23, the guide hole 42 and the aperture 41. The canopy 40 has a plurality of third locking holes 45 corresponding to the second locking holes 39. The hanger bracket 30 further comprises a notch 341 extending from the opening 34. The notch 341 corresponds to the groove 23, the down rod 10, and the support portion 43 of the guide hole 42, allowing the support portion 43 to abut against the down rod 10.

FIG. 5 and FIG. 6 are schematic views showing the assembly of the preferred embodiment of the present invention. In assembly, the hanger bracket 30 is first locked to the pitched roof 220 through the first locking hole 38 of the locking portion 37, and then the second end 12 of the down rod 10 is inserted through the axial hole 21 of the hanger ball 20. The support rod 14 transversely passes through the support holes 13, so that the two ends of the support rod 14 are engaged in the engaging grooves 22, respectively. The down rod screw 25 is inserted through the locking hole 24 of the hanger ball 20 for fixing the down rod 10 and the hanger ball 20. At this time, the hanger ball 20 and the down rod 10 are mounted to the accommodating groove 31 of the hanger bracket 30 through the hanger ball opening 36 and the down rod opening 35 respectively and extend out of the opening 34, so that the down rod 10 is in a vertical suspension state due to gravity and displacement.

Then, the positioning screw 33 is inserted through the positioning hole 32 of the hanger bracket 30 and positioned in the groove 23 of the hanger ball 20, so as to guide the hanger ball 20 to the hanger bracket 30. Next, the canopy 40 is to cover the outside of the hanger bracket 30. The down rod 10 is inserted between the guide hole 42 and the aperture 41. Finally, the hanger bracket 30 and the canopy 40 are respectively locked with a plurality of fastening screws 46 locked to the second locking holes 39 and the third locking holes 45, so that the hanger bracket 30 is combined with the canopy 40. The first end 11 of the down rod 10 is fixedly connected to the ceiling fan body 210 for hanging the ceiling fan 200, that is, the assembly of the down rod hanger system 100 is completed.

FIG. 7 illustrates that the included angle between the pitched roof and the horizontal direction is 20 degrees. FIG. 8 illustrates that the included angle between the pitched roof and the horizontal direction is 60 degrees. When the included angle between the pitched roof 220 and the horizontal direction is 20 degrees, the included angle between the pitched roof 220 and the axis 15 of the down rod 10 is 110 degrees, as shown in FIG. 7. When the included angle between the pitched roof 220 and the horizontal direction is 60 degrees, the included angle between the pitched roof 220 and the axis 15 of the down rod 10 is 150 degrees, as shown in FIG. 8. As shown in FIG. 7, the hanger ball 20 further comprises a first arc portion 271 and a second arc portion 272. The direction of the first arc portion 271 and the second arc portion 272 corresponds to the direction of the groove 23. The first arc portion adjacent to the guide hole 42 is less than the second arc portion 272 in length. Therefore, through the arrangement of the guide hole 42, the down rod hanger system provided by the present invention is not only suitable for the included angle between the pitched roof 220 and the horizontal direction in the range of 20-60 degrees, but also suitable for the pitched roof 220 with a certain angle of inclination and a larger angle of inclination, thereby increasing the convenience in use.

Claims

1. A down rod hanger system of a ceiling fan, the ceiling fan having a ceiling fan body, the down rod hanger system comprising:

a down rod, having a first end and a second end, the first end being connected to the ceiling fan body, the down rod being arranged vertically;
a hanger ball, fixedly connected to the second end of the down rod;
a hanger bracket, fixed under a pitched roof, the hanger bracket including an accommodating groove, a positioning hole and a positioning screw, the hanger ball being pivotally connected in the accommodating groove, one side of the accommodating groove, close to the down rod, being provided with an opening corresponding to the hanger ball and the down rod, the down rod being pivotable relative to the opening through the hanger bracket and the hanger ball, the positioning hole being defined in a side wall of the accommodating groove of the hanger bracket corresponding to the hanger ball, the positioning hole corresponding to the positioning screw;
a canopy, fixedly connected to the hanger bracket, the canopy being configured to cover an outside of the hanger bracket, the canopy having an aperture corresponding to the opening and the down rod, the canopy further having a guide hole extending downward from the aperture, the guide hole corresponding to the down rod for the down rod to be displaced and extend out of the guide hole and the aperture;
wherein an outer wall of the hanger ball is recessed inwardly to form a groove, and the positioning hole and the positioning screw correspond to the groove, the guide hole and the aperture, allowing the hanger ball to be guided by the positioning screw and the groove, and wherein the hanger ball further comprises a first arc portion and a second arc portion, the direction of the first arc portion and the second arc portion corresponds to the direction of the groove, and an arc length of the first arc portion adjacent to the guide hole is less than that of the second arc portion;
wherein a bottom of the guide hole is provided with a support portion, the support portion is configured to abut against the down rod, the down rod has an axis;
wherein the hanger bracket further comprises a notch extending from the opening, and the notch corresponds to the groove, the down rod, and the support portion of the guide hole, allowing the support portion to abut against the down rod; and
wherein when the support portion abuts against the down rod, the included angle between the axis of the down rod and the pitched roof is not more than 150 degrees.

5. The down rod hanger system of the ceiling fan as claimed in claim 1, wherein the guide hole is gradually reduced downward.

The down rod hanger system of the ceiling fan as claimed in claim 1, wherein the hanger ball further has a protruding portion, the opening has a diameter less than that of the hanger ball for the protruding portion of the hanger ball and the down rod to extend out of the opening, the protruding portion of the hanger ball and the down rod extend out of the aperture.

The down rod hanger system of the ceiling fan as claimed in claim 1, wherein the hanger bracket has a down rod opening corresponding to the down rod, the hanger bracket further has a hanger ball opening corresponding to the hanger ball, and the hanger ball opening is in communication with the opening through the down rod opening.

The down rod hanger system of the ceiling fan as claimed in claim 1, wherein the second end of the down rod is radially formed with two opposite support holes, a support rod is insertedly connected to the support holes, the hanger ball has a through axial hole, the down rod is inserted through the axial hole, two opposite sides of a top edge of an inner wall of the axial hole are respectively recessed outwardly from top to bottom to form engaging grooves, the engaging grooves correspond to the support holes, two ends of the support rod are engaged in the engaging grooves respectively, an outer wall of the hanger ball is recessed inwardly to form a groove, the positioning hole and the positioning screw correspond to the groove, the guide hole and the aperture, and a side wall of the axial hole of the hanger ball is formed with a locking hole corresponding to the down rod for a down rod screw to secure the down rod.

9. The down rod hanger system of the ceiling fan as claimed in claim 1, wherein two locking portions extend laterally from two sides of an upper edge of the hanger bracket, and the locking portions each have a first locking hole for the locking portions to be locked to the pitched roof.
