Grip Enhancement Device
A grip enhancement device for deterring slippage of a handheld container within a hand of a user includes a band, which is resiliently stretchable and thus configured to be stretched for positioning the band around the handheld container. The band has inner and outer faces, which are textured. The inner face frictionally engages an outer surface of the handheld container upon rebounding of the band. The outer face frictionally engages the hand of the user upon gripping of the handheld container to deter slippage of the handheld container within the hand of the user.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION (1) Field of the InventionThe disclosure relates to grip enhancement devices and more particularly pertains to a new grip enhancement device for deterring slippage of a handheld container within a hand of a user. The present invention discloses a grip enhancement device comprising a resiliently stretchable and textured band, which is configured for positioning around a container to deter slippage of the container within a hand of a user.
(2) Description of Related Art Including Information Disclosed Under 37 CFR 1.97 and 1.98The prior art relates to grip enhancement devices. Prior art grip enhancement devices may comprise rigid, cylindrical frustrum shaped sleeves for use with tapered beverage containers. The prior art also comprises insulating bands for use with candle containers. What is lacking in the prior art is a grip enhancement device comprising a silicone elastic band for deterring slippage of a container within a hand of a user.
BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONAn embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a band, which is resiliently stretchable and thus configured to be stretched for positioning the band around a handheld container. The band has an inner face and an outer face, which are textured. The inner face is configured to frictionally engage an outer surface of the handheld container upon rebounding of the band. The outer face is configured to frictionally engage a hand of a user upon gripping of the handheld container to deter slippage of the handheld container within the hand of the user.
There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
As best illustrated in
The inner face 16 is configured to frictionally engage an outer surface 20 of the handheld container 14 upon rebounding of the band 12, as shown in
The band 12 may have a width 22 of between 1.00 and 2.00 cm so that it is configured to engage a thumb and at least one finger of the hand of the user. The band 12 also may have a width 22 of between 4.00 and 6.00 cm so that it is configured to engage the thumb and at least two fingers of the hand of the user. The present invention also anticipates the band 12 being integral to the handheld container 14.
In use, the band 12 is stretched, is positioned around the handheld container 14, and then is allowed to rebound so that the inner face 16 of the band 12 frictionally engages to the outer surface 20 of the handheld container 14. The outer face 18 of the band 12 engages the hand of the user upon gripping of the handheld to deter slippage of the handheld container 14.
With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
