MAKEUP KIT

Abstract

A kit for applying makeup for a specific scenario event, wherein the kit includes a container having a plurality of walls defining a compartment accessible by way of an opening defined by said plurality of walls. A lid is pivotably connected to the plurality of walls to be moveable between an open condition and a closed condition preventing access to the compartment by way of the opening. An outer surface of the lid having an indicia area providing an indicium of the specific scenario event, wherein the indicia area provides a hyperlink, providing a digital reference to data associated with the specific scenario event.

CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATION

This application claims the benefit of priority of U.S. provisional application No. 63/363,977, filed May 2, 2022, the contents of which are herein incorporated by reference.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to makeup kits and, more particularly, to a kit providing all the components for a user to do a full application of makeup. The kit of the present invention includes, but is not limited to, foundation match set, eye shadow, lash mascara, etc. The kit name may be colloquially known as “liseables”. There will be different types of kits based on the face that a user is trying to achieve. The present invention has many different applications. It can be used as a “fresh face” kit, an interview kit, and even a “date night” kit.

There are no kits available that an individual can do a full face of makeup with. All other makeup products are disparate ones that are used for only a portion of the face.

As can be seen, there is a need for a disposable kit providing all the components for a user to do a full application of makeup.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention generally solves the problem of having to pack makeup up and travel with it. The present invention also solves the problem of purchasing unnecessary makeup products and having to waste them. It also solves the problem of people who do not wear makeup on an everyday basis. It also will save the user funds on additional unnecessary makeup. Prior to the present invention, nothing existed to address these issues.

In one aspect of the present invention, a kit for applying makeup for a specific scenario event, the kit includes the following: a container having a plurality of walls defining a compartment accessible by way of an opening defined by said plurality of walls; a lid pivotably connected to the plurality of walls so as to be moveable between an open condition and a closed condition preventing access to the compartment by way of the opening; and an outer surface of the lid having an indicia area providing an indicium of the specific scenario event, wherein the indicia area provides a hyperlink, providing a digital reference to data associated with the specific scenario event.

In another aspect of the present invention, the kit for applying makeup for a specific scenario event further includes the following: a plurality of makeup components associated with the specific scenario event, wherein the plurality of makeup components is housed in the compartment; a reflective surface along an inner surface of the lid, wherein the data associated with the specific scenario event is represented on the reflective surface; a reflective surface along an inner surface of the lid, wherein the compartment is divided into a plurality of subcompartments by way of divider walls; further including at least one pencil block and at least one brush block, each block dimensioned and shaped to be slidable received in a snug engagement, in a respective subcompartment of the plurality of subcompartments, wherein each pencil block provides an upper surface providing a plurality of pencil slots, each pencil slot dimensioned and shaped to receive a first pencil and a second pencil, each pencil comprising a portion of the plurality of makeup components associated with the specific scenario event, wherein each brush block provides an upper surface providing a plurality of rush slots, each brush slot dimensioned and shaped to receive a first brush, a second brush, a third brush, and a fourth brush, each brush comprising a portion of the plurality of makeup components associated with the specific scenario event, and wherein the lid provides a lift slot along an edge of the lid opposite a pivotable connection.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The following detailed description is of the best currently contemplated modes of carrying out exemplary embodiments of the invention. The description is not to be taken in a limiting sense but is made merely for the purpose of illustrating the general principles of the invention, since the scope of the invention is best defined by the appended claims.

Broadly, an embodiment of the present invention provides a makeup kit that provides all necessary face products in a single container. The present invention enables a unique way to travel with makeup. The present invention also has the advantage of being capable of transporting onto an airplane (without risk of confiscation). For makeup artists, the present invention is an easy and quick kit to use. For individuals who do not often wear makeup, the present invention is a cheaper alternative to try makeup out for the first time to see if it's something that they would like to purchase on a regular basis. As those with skill in the art will appreciate, the present invention can be sized according to the need it is addressing (e.g., a larger version of the kit can be provided for a more experienced makeup artist).

Referring to FIGS. 1 through 5, the present invention may include a kit 10 having a plurality of walls that define a compartment accessible through an opening, wherein a lid 22 of the kit 10 is pivotably connected to one of the walls so as to be movable between an open condition and closed condition preventing access to the opening. The pivotable connection 24 may be a hinge or the like disposed along a periphery of the opening. On an opposing side of the lid 22 may be a cutout portion, recess, or lift slot 26 to facilitate moving the lid 22 from the closed condition to the open condition. The lid 22, the plurality of walls, and the divider walls 12 may be flexible and made of various plasticized material so as to provide flexibility as well as in certain embodiments, transparency. Though it is understood that the lid 22, the plurality of walls, and the divider walls 12 may be made of other materials (e.g., metallic, rubber, synthetic, and the like) as well as have other non-flexible and/or opaque characteristics in other embodiments.

Along an inner surface of the lid 22 a reflective surface 28 (e.g., mirror) may be provided for the user to utilize when doing their makeup. The outer surface of lid 22 may provide an indicia area 30 having a label that indicates the specific scenario content. Indicia area 30 may provide a code that links a user to a video tutorial (hosted on, for example, YOUTUBE™) associated with the specific scenario content indicated by the indicia area 30. Inside the kit 10 may be instructions and everything (e.g., makeup) needed to complete a full face of makeup associated with the specific scenario content.

The compartment may be divided into a plurality of differently sized subcompartments by way of divider walls 12. At least one pencil block 14 and at least one brush block 18 is dimensioned and shaped to be slidable received, typically in a snug engagement, in a respective subcompartment of the plurality of subcompartments. Each block 14, 18 has a depth 50 seen in FIG. 3, wherein the depth may be approximately half an inch to one and one half of an inch, which may be approximately half of a kit depth 60, also seen in FIG. 3. Each pencil block 14 provides an upper surface providing a plurality of pencil slots 16, each pencil slot 16 dimensioned and shaped to receive a first pencil 32, a second pencil 34, or the like, wherein each pencil type (e.g., 32 and 34) have different functional characteristics). Each brush block 18 provides an upper surface providing a plurality of brush slots 20, each pencil slot 20 dimensioned and shaped to receive a first brush 36, a second brush 38, a third brush 40, a fourth brush 42, or the like, wherein each pencil type (e.g., 32 and 34) have different functional characteristics).

Kit 10 can be configured to the specific event or application. Once kit 10 has been formed and assembled, it will include everything someone would need to do their face makeup. For example, kit 10, and specifically the plurality of subcompartments it includes, can provide foundation, setting power, lip pencils, false eyelashes and glue, various size brushes, a plurality of pencils, eyeshadow, primer, and setting spray. Further, kit 10 provides access to a specialized tutorial for using the specified scenario content identified in the indicia area 30 through the code link provided in the same indicia area 30. In some embodiments, the code link may, when triggered, switched on, toggled, or activated initiates representation of the online tutorial by way of the reflective surface 28.

All the components in the present invention work directly together to provide a unique and full solution for the end-user. All components of kit 10 are provided with the intention of being used to do a full face of makeup. By providing singular housing for all the makeup pieces needed, waste and the possibility of a mess is reduced.

It will be appreciated that the teachings of the present invention can be used to form countless numbers of kits. The present invention, therefore, includes any such specialized kit that provides all makeup products needed for the face for a particular event or application. Further, these teachings may be applied to other makeup lines.

In other embodiments, a website (or another platform) may be used where prospective purchasers can directly customize kits that can be mailed out periodically (e.g., monthly).

In an exemplary embodiment, the makeup kit may be used as follows. It may be carried around to various locations, thus eliminating the need to transport disparate makeup products. It could be used while traveling or going to a friend's residence, or by a makeup artist on a movie set. it eliminates the multiple uses of makeup products and condenses it to only a kit that can essentially be recycled or thrown directly in the garbage when no longer needed. It may also be used by individuals who don't want to wear makeup on a regular basis and might just want to try it, they can just purchase a kit this way they can still have the effects of using makeup.

In an exemplary embodiment, the makeup kit may be made and assembled as described above and as follows. A box functional enough to hold all the makeup and be small enough to be efficient is formed. Inside of the kit, all products needed to create a full face of makeup are inserted. For example, lashes, glue, setting spray, foundation, eye shadow, powder to set your makeup, eyebrow pencil, as well as brushes may be condensed to fit inside of the kit and be functional to travel, and for just everyday makeup purposes.

As those with skill in the art will appreciate, every element included in the kit is necessary, but the kits are not limited to specific items, making it more versatile. For example, a kit can be created for a person who does not wear foundation such that the kit will be smaller.

The kit embodied in the present invention may be disposable—allowing for a one-time use kit. In some embodiments, the top (or bottom) may be a peel-away substrate, in lieu of a lid 22 (or a bottom surface). There are other embodiments, wherein the kit is created to be reused and refilled.

While one or more preferred embodiments are disclosed, many other implementations will occur to one of ordinary skill in the art and are all within the scope of the invention. Each of the various embodiments described above may be combined with other described embodiments to provide multiple features. Furthermore, while the preceding describes several separate embodiments of the apparatus and method of the present invention, what has been described herein is merely illustrative of applying the principles of the present invention. Other arrangements, methods, modifications, and substitutions by one of ordinary skill in the art are therefore also considered within the scope of the present invention, which is not to be limited except by the claims directed to the present invention.

As used in this application, the term “about” or “approximately” refers to a range of values within plus or minus 10% of the specified number. And the term “substantially” refers to up to 80% or more of an entirety. Recitation of ranges of values herein are not intended to be limiting, referring instead individually to any and all values falling within the range, unless otherwise indicated, and each separate value within such a range is incorporated into the specification as if it were individually recited herein.

For purposes of this disclosure, the term “aligned” means parallel, substantially parallel, or forming an angle of less than 35.0 degrees. For purposes of this disclosure, the term “transverse” means perpendicular, substantially perpendicular, or forming an angle between 55.0 and 125.0 degrees. Also, for purposes of this disclosure, the term “length” means the longest dimension of an object. Also, for purposes of this disclosure, the term “width” means the dimension of an object from side to side. For the purposes of this disclosure, the term “above” generally means superjacent, substantially superjacent, or higher than another object although not directly overlying the object. Further, for purposes of this disclosure, the term “mechanical communication” generally refers to components being in direct physical contact with each other or being in indirect physical contact with each other where movement of one component affect the position of the other.

Claims

1. A kit for applying makeup for a specific scenario event, the kit comprising:

a container having a plurality of walls defining a compartment accessible by way of an opening defined by said plurality of walls;

a lid pivotably connected to the plurality of walls so as to be moveable between an open condition and a closed condition preventing access to the compartment by way of the opening; and

an outer surface of the lid having an indicia area providing an indicium of the specific scenario event, wherein the indicia area provides a hyperlink, providing a digital reference to data associated with the specific scenario event.

2. The kit of claim 1, further comprising a plurality of makeup components associated with the specific scenario event, wherein the plurality of makeup components is housed in the compartment.

3. The kit of claim 2, further comprising a reflective surface along an inner surface of the lid.

4. The kit of claim 3, wherein the data associated with the specific scenario event is represented on the reflective surface.

5. The kit of claim 4, further comprising a reflective surface along an inner surface of the lid.

6. The kit of claim 5, wherein the compartment is divided into a plurality of subcompartments by way of divider walls.

7. The kit of claim 6, further comprising at least one pencil block and at least one brush block, each block dimensioned and shaped to be slidable received in a snug engagement, in a respective subcompartment of the plurality of subcompartments.

8. The kit of claim 7, wherein each pencil block provides an upper surface providing a plurality of pencil slots, each pencil slot dimensioned and shaped to receive a first pencil and a second pencil, each pencil comprising a portion of the plurality of makeup components associated with the specific scenario event.

9. The kit of claim 8, wherein each brush block provides an upper surface providing a plurality of rush slots, each brush slot dimensioned and shaped to receive a first brush, a second brush, a third brush, and a fourth brush, each brush comprising a portion of the plurality of makeup components associated with the specific scenario event.

10. The kit of claim 9, wherein the lid provides a lift slot along an edge of the lid opposite a pivotable connection.
