Exercise Mat Assembly
An exercise mat assembly includes an exercise mat that is comprised of a resiliently compressible material thereby enhancing comfort for a user positioned on the exercise mat. Grid indicia are applied to the exercise mat which comprises a grid of squares thereby facilitating the user to place their hands or feet in selected ones of the grid of squares to assist the user with accurately performing exercise poses. Numbering indicia are applied to the exercise mat which comprises a series of numbers each associated with a respective one of the grid of squares to assist the user with placing their hands or feet a predetermined distance apart for altering a level of difficulty of the exercise poses.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION (1) Field of the InventionThe disclosure relates to exercise devices and more particularly pertains to a new exercise device for assisting a user with performing exercise poses. The device includes an exercise mat with grid indicia defining a grid of squares in which the user can place their hands and feet. The device includes numbering indicia applied to the exercise mat which are each associated with a respective one of the grid of squares to assist the user with tracking their progress in the exercise pose.
(2) Description of Related Art Including Information Disclosed Under 37 CFR 1.97 and 1.98The prior art relates to exercise devices including a yoga mat device that has a grid pattern and markers distributed at strategic points on the grid pattern to assist with positioning of feet, hands and body in yoga poses. The prior art discloses an exercise mat that has a plurality of concentric squares printed on the exercise mat, a plurality of numbers located in the middle of the concentric squares and alphabet indicia. The prior art discloses a yoga mat which has a grid pattern and numbering indicia surrounding the grid pattern. The prior art discloses an exercise product having a grid pattern with number indicia identifying rows and letter indicia identifying columns. The prior art discloses a yoga mat with a plurality of ovals and numbers printed inside each of the ovals. The prior art discloses a foldable exercise mat that includes electronic speakers.
BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONAn embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising an exercise mat that is comprised of a resiliently compressible material thereby enhancing comfort for a user positioned on the exercise mat. Grid indicia are applied to the exercise mat which comprises a grid of squares thereby facilitating the user to place their hands or feet in selected ones of the grid of squares to assist the user with accurately performing exercise poses. Numbering indicia are applied to the exercise mat which comprises a series of numbers each associated with a respective one of the grid of squares to assist the user with placing their hands or feet a predetermined distance apart for altering a level of difficulty of the exercise poses.
There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.

The Grid indicia 16 are applied to a top surface 28 of the exercise mat 12 and the Grid indicia 16 includes a series of first lines 30 each extending between a first lateral side 32 and a second lateral side 34 of a perimeter edge 36 of the exercise mat 12. The Grid indicia 16 includes a series of second lines 38 each extending between a front side 40 and a back side 42 of the perimeter edge 36 of the exercise mat 12. The series of first lines 30 are evenly spaced apart from each other and the series of second lines 38 are evenly spaced apart from each other. The numbering indicia 24 comprise a series of circles 44 each aligned with an intersection of a respective one of the series of first lines 30 and a respective one of the series of second lines 38. Each of the series of numbers 26 comprises the numbering indicia 24 which are located on a respective one of the series of circles 44. Each of the series of numbers 26 has a contrasting color with respect to a color of the series of circles 44 such that the series of numbers 26 is highly visible to the user 14.
In one embodiment each of the grid of squares 18 may have a length and a width of approximately 10.0 cm and the exercise mat 12 may have a length ranging between approximately 172.0 cm and 213.0 cm and width of at least 71.0 cm. In an additional embodiment each of the grid of squares 18 may have a length and a width of approximately 7.5 cm and the exercise mat 12 may have a length ranging between approximately 167.0 cm and 198.0 cm and a width 68.0 cm. In this way the exercise mat 12 can accommodate various sizes of users 14. In use, the exercise mat 12 is laid out to perform yoga or other exercise poses and the user 14 employs the grid of squares 18 and the numbering indicia 24 to locate the user's hands 20 and feet 22 for various exercise poses. In this way the grid of squares 18 and the numbering indicia 24 facilitate the user 14 to properly perform the exercise poses over and over again. Furthermore, the grid of squares 18 and the numbering indicia 24 facilitate the user 14 to track their progress with respect to range of motion and flexibility while performing the exercise poses. Claims
1. An exercise mat assembly having a numbered grid to facilitate a user to accurately position themselves on the numbered grid, said assembly comprising:
- an exercise mat being comprised of a resiliently compressible material thereby enhancing comfort for a user positioned on said exercise mat, said exercise mat having a length being sufficient to accommodate the user in a prone position, said exercise mat having a width sufficient to accommodate the user in a seated position, said exercise mat having grid indicia being applied to said exercise mat comprising a grid of squares each having a predetermined dimension thereby facilitating the user to place their hands or feet in selected ones of said grid of squares wherein said grid indicia are configured to assist the user with accurately performing exercise poses, said exercise mat having numbering indicia being applied to said exercise mat comprising a series of numbers each being associated with a respective one of said grid of squares wherein said numbering indicia are configured to assist the user with placing their hands or feet a predetermined distance apart for altering a level of difficulty of the exercise poses.
2. The assembly according to claim 2, wherein:
- said grid indicia are applied to a top surface of said exercise mat;
- said grid indicia includes a series of first lines each extending between a first lateral side and a second lateral side of a perimeter edge of said exercise mat;
- said grid indicia includes a series of second lines each extending between a front side and a back side of said perimeter edge of said exercise mat; and
- said series of first lines being evenly spaced apart from each other and said series of second lines being evenly spaced apart from each other.
3. The assembly according to claim 2, wherein said numbering indicia comprise a series of circles each being aligned with an intersection of a respective one of said series of first lines and a respective one of said series of second lines.
4. The assembly according to claim 3, wherein each of said series of numbers comprise said numbering indicia being located on a respective one of said series of circles.
5. The assembly according to claim 3, wherein each of said series of numbers has a contrasting color with respect to a color of said series of circles wherein said series of numbers is configured to be highly visible to the user.
6. The assembly according to claim 1, wherein said series of numbers is arranged in numerical order along a predetermined set of axis wherein said series of numbers are configured to assist the user with placing their hands and feet in said plurality grid of squares.
7. An exercise mat assembly having a numbered grid to facilitate a user to accurately position themselves on the numbered grid, said assembly comprising:
- an exercise mat being comprised of a resiliently compressible material thereby enhancing comfort for a user positioned on said exercise mat, said exercise mat having a length being sufficient to accommodate the user in a prone position, said exercise mat having a width sufficient to accommodate the user in a seated position, said exercise mat having grid indicia being applied to said exercise mat comprising a grid of squares each having a predetermined dimension thereby facilitating the user to place their hands or feet in selected ones of said grid of squares wherein said grid indicia are configured to assist the user with accurately performing exercise poses, said exercise mat having numbering indicia being applied to said exercise mat comprising a series of numbers each being associated with a respective one of said grid of squares wherein said numbering indicia are configured to assist the user with placing their hands or feet a predetermined distance apart for altering a level of difficulty of the exercise poses, said grid indicia being applied to a top surface of said exercise mat, said grid indicia including a series of first lines each extending between a first lateral side and a second lateral side of a perimeter edge of said exercise mat, said grid indicia including a series of second lines each extending between a front side and a back side of said perimeter edge of said exercise mat, said series of first lines being evenly spaced apart from each other and said series of second lines being evenly spaced apart from each other, said numbering indicia comprising a series of circles each being aligned with an intersection of a respective one of said series of first lines and a respective one of said series of second lines, each of said series of numbers comprising said numbering indicia being located on a respective one of said series of circles, each of said series of numbers having a contrasting color with respect to a color of said series of circles wherein said series of numbers is configured to be highly visible to the user, said series of numbers being arranged in numerical order along a predetermined set of axis wherein said series of numbers are configured to assist the user with placing their hands and feet in said plurality grid of squares.
8. The assembly according to claim 7, wherein each of said grid of squares has a length and a width of approximately 10.0 cm.
9. The assembly according to claim 8, wherein said exercise mat has a length ranging between approximately 172.0 cm and 213.0 cm and width of at least 71.0 cm
10. The assembly according to claim 7, wherein each of said grid of squares has a length and a width of approximately 7.5 cm.
11. The assembly according to claim 10, wherein said exercise mat has a length ranging between approximately 167.0 cm and 198.0 cm and a width 68.0 cm.
12. The assembly according to claim 7, wherein said numerical order of said series of numbers comprises sequential rows extending along each of said series of second lines.
13. The assembly according to claim 7, wherein said numerical order of said series of numbers comprises a sequence of numbers being repeated on each of said series of second lines.
