BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION (1) Field of the InventionThe disclosure relates to novelty decoration devices and more particularly pertains to a new novelty decoration device for removably attaching an ornamentation to a robotic vacuum.
(2) Description of Related Art Including Information Disclosed Under 37 CFR 1.97 and 1.98The prior art relates to novelty decoration devices. Some references disclose toy figures with a plurality of light sources. Other references disclose devices and ornamental designs for dashboard ornaments. The prior art also discloses household objects, such as napkin rings, with interchangeable ornaments that releasably couple to the household ornaments. However, the prior art lacks a disclosure of ornamentation devices that can be releasably and interchangeably coupled with a robotic vacuum.
BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONAn embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a robotic vacuum having a top surface, an ornamentation having an exterior surface, and a coupler releasably coupling the ornamentation to the top surface. The coupler generally includes a pair of mating members that are releasably coupled to each other. One of the mating members is attached to the exterior surface and the other of the mating members is attached to the top surface. The ornamentation may have any shape or design, such as a figurine, a religious symbol, a holiday themed symbol, or a symbol that represents a hobby or pastime. The ornamentation may also include a plurality of battery-operated lights.
There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter, and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
As best illustrated in
Embodiments of the coupler 30 comprise a pair of mating members that are releasably coupled to each other. One of the mating members may be attached to the exterior surface 22 and the other of the mating members may be attached to the top surface 14. In some exemplary embodiments, the coupler 30 is configured to attach and detach the ornamentation 20 to the top surface 14 via relative rotational motion between the ornamentation 20 and the top surface 14. However, any coupler 30 may be used.
For example, one of the mating members may define a female coupler 34 and the other of the mating members may define a male coupler 36. The female coupler 34 includes a plate 38 and a sleeve 40 extending away from the plate 38. In the examples provided in
The male coupler 36 may include a rod 42 that is removably extendable into the sleeve 40. A pair of pins 44 may be positioned on the rod 42, extending laterally outwardly from the rod 42. Generally, the pair of pins 44 extend in opposite directions with respect to each other. The sleeve 40 includes a pair of slots 46 positioned therein to releasably receive the pair of pins 44. As shown in
A plurality of stops 54 is mounted to the sleeve 40. Each of the pair of slots 46 has an edge 56. At least one of the plurality of stops 54 is positioned on the edge 56 to retain one of the pair of pins 44 within a respective one of the pair of slots 46.
In the embodiments shown in the figures, the female coupler 34 is positioned on the robotic vacuum 12 and the male coupler 36 is positioned on the ornamentation 20. In such embodiments, the adhesive 32 is positioned on the plate 38 opposite of the sleeve 40. In other embodiments, the female coupler 34 may be positioned on the ornamentation 20 and the male coupler 36 may be positioned on the robotic vacuum 12. In alternative embodiments, the coupler 30 may not comprise a female coupler 34 and a male coupler 36. For example, a jaw coupling or other coupling may be used.
A light emitter 58 may be mounted on some embodiments of the ornamentation 20. For example, as shown in
A power supply 60 may be attached to the ornamentation 20. For example, the power supply 60 may comprise a battery positioned within the ornamentation 20. A switch 62 may be electrically coupled to the power supply 60 and light emitter 58. The switch 62 is actuatable to turn the light emitter 58 on or off. As shown in
In use, the user may choose from a range of ornamentation 20 options, as shown in
With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the elements is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
